Agreeing with people from years ago lol... but I'd love to see the go karts leave. It's just smelly and nobody really likes upcharge attractions. They are slowly disappearing from parks everywhere. It's a decent chunk of land.

100%. Yukon is now a smelly corridor between Goliath and Flash V2. If they must stay EV go karts could at least get rid of the head ache inducing fumes. I wish the YT waterfront would come back too, it's now the perm site of a FF attraction, and bring back the Marriott era logging shows in the pond!

I hate to say it, but I feel like Demon is next-to-go. I know it will most likely operate this season, and the rocks were only removed due to them being a safety hazard, but the ride is sitting on such a large plot of land. They could easily add another coaster and a flat ride next to Battle for Metropolis if they removed Demon.

Also, I know this has already been said what feels like a thousand times, but the Go-Karts I am 98% sure are getting removed.

Pretty sure I know which youtuber you got that info from. The Park has been fighting corporate when it comes to Demon. Park wants to keep it running, Corporate wants it gone.

I'm fine with it leaving, but I also have no confidence that SF would do anything really good with the area because it would be extremely expensive to redevelop.

I thought Demon's plot of land was pretty flat, but then again, I haven't gotten a good look at it since 2022.

Demon also has the tunnel, train tracks, remaining rock structures, and the midway.

Depending on what replaces it, that can get expensive.

If Demon leaves, will we see Corkscrew leave Cedar Point?? That ride is much shorter than Demon with zero theming and quite lame.

I personally don't believe Demon is going anywhere because it fills a niche of entry-level looper!

Now that I think about it, Demon might have a chance of sticking around. If the merger goes through, CF and SF will probably realize that CGA's Demon still exists and that they could pull parts from that to use on SFGAm's Demon.

As a side note, I would not be surprised if Corkscrew at CP got removed soon, especially with the points you bring up. However, they might do something like Incredible Hulk and keep the track pieces that formed the iconic corkscrew on the ride.

Personally, I felt like Demon was doomed with its days limited when they decided to axe the rockwork rather than fix it. The ride looks so barren now. I dont see her lasting very long sadly. & Demons plot is pretty close in size to Raging Bull's when you really look at it. It's much larger than I really ever think it is.

I'm going to sound like an idiot for saying this, but did SF remove only the rocks on Demon's vertical loops that you could see in Ricochet's queue, or did they remove all rocks including the rocks that looked like a mouth before the two corkscrews?

Just the rocks that were around the loops. The skull that you pass through is still there.

I still have not seen Demon since the rocks were removed, I hope it has not taken too much away from the experience. Another thing of note is that it may be the most expensive coaster to operate in the park, at least for parts and service. Parks literally everywhere, including SF/CF, have been removing unpopular and expensive to operate coasters/rides since the pandemic. Demon is both. I don't see it making it to the 2030's, but I would LOVE to be proven wrong!

One idea I have that has a near-impossible chance of happening is that maybe SF could bring S&S in and totally redo Demon. We're talking a lift chain replacement, making the coaster smoother without removing the old track, etc. Almost like RMC-ing Demon.

As much as I would love that, there's no way that would be worth the time and investment. But then again, Darien Lake is replacing parts of their boomerang track, so...

They could also market it as a brand-new coaster without building much that is actually brand-new. The park could have crazy marketing for their 50th if they open a B&M Dive/RMC Raptor/RMC T-Rex along with the Demon makeover. It's all in the marketing power.

"NEW at Six Flags Great America in 2026, [Insert B&M Dive/RMC Raptor/RMC T-Rex Coaster Title Here] and Demon Reborn (Tentative Name) arrive for the 50th Anniversary! Six Flags Great America - Gateway to... I mean The Thrill Capital of the Midwest!"

IF they do something for Eagle I predict it will be in 2026, the 50th anniversary!

That would be HUGE!

I'm hoping Gravity Group retracks that thing/puts new trains on the ride. An unlikely option though would be that SF buys prefabricated wooden track from Intamin to put on American Eagle, since Intamin were the original manufacturers of the coaster.

Evolution of "What I Think They Should Do to American Eagle":
1. Put some GCI Titan Track on that thing (which I still wouldn't mind if it happened)
2. RMC 208 Retrak (I realized SF should just put some I-BOX track on Goliath instead.)
3. Gravity Group Retrack/Gravity Group Trains (My Current Hopes!)

Dan made a long youtube vid that discusses Eagle. I'm wondering if the investment in new portal will tell us anything about the coaster's future, staying or going, Anyone know if it will run at all this season? Kidzoplis was paritally demo'd too, so maybe that project and Eagle are on hold for 2024.

Sure. I think it's been discussed here already but Dan lays out some serious options for the future of Eagle.

Figured the forum would pick up on my video eventually haha. Don't hold what I said against me too hard, I understand there are some downright crazy ideas in there that will never happen, but it was a lot of fun to make and I couldn't help myself. But there are still some realistic-ish ideas

Intamin prefab track has been proven to be problematic. It doesn't last too long (relatively speaking) before it needs to be addressed seriously (either replace it with new prefab track or Everland went the 208 route). I don't think SF/CF wants to deal with a retrack that they know they are going to have to basically replace in 15 years.

That said, Gravity Group retrack is a much more likely and welcome. But their trains stink, I personally wouldn't want to see them anywhere near AE lol

I found your channel in my Recommendations and I thought "Finally! A long video dedicated JUST to SFGAm." When I discovered you (and later CoasterNick3157) on these forums I kind of thought (and still do think) of this website as a sort-of birthplace for all the greats.

How about PTC trains? And can PTC trains even run on Gravity Group track?

I don't think a retrack is all that simple. Eagle is designed in a way to take those heavy PTC trains into account, if they retracked and replaced the trains, there's a pretty high likelihood that lighter and new trains would not make the large hill to the top of the barrel.
