The new website for Hurricane Harbor Chicago is live now. Hurricane Harbor is now officially a separate park.

https://www.sixflags.com/hurricaneharbo ... re/tickets

One-Day tickets for Hurricane Harbor Chicago are now on sale. Online prices are $24.99 or $29.99 depending on date. Regular price is $39.99, but of course this is 2021 and you can't buy tickets at the park, so that's a meaningless number.

For years, I always felt the park screwed over the person who didn't have a season pass and just wanted to go to the water park, because they had to buy a normal park ticket for more than that AND then pay more. Glad that's finally fixed.

This seems interesting (although overpriced), especially since it's long been a thing that lots of other Six Flags parks have more interesting food options than us...

Spring is in the air and the thrills are back in action! All that screaming on the roller coasters is going to work up an appetite. The new Taste of Six Flags Food Festival will bring the best bites from around the Six Flags family of parks right to you in Hometown Square. With treats for all ages, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

The Taste of Six Flags Food Festival will occur the following operating weekends in May:

Saturday, May 8 & Sunday, May 9
Saturday, May 15 & Sunday, May 16
Saturday, May 22 & Sunday, May 23

Something I noticed during Holiday in the Park that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is that the park took down (or cut down) all Totem Poles in Yukon Territory. The most prominent ones were at the entrance to Yukon at Yankee Harbor. Likely they were removed because they are inappropriate and disrespectful to Native Americans, but I don't know that for certain.

On a side note looks like Goliath at SFNE might be getting canned soon

Oh nooo the totem poles :/ Another piece of the original park, gone.

As for Goliath (SFNE), I've heard nothin but trouble about that ride sadly. Don't know what Silverwood did to "DéjàVu" that made it operate better but NE clearly didn't do that. Made it worse with the premier trains apparently. Harley Quinn at SFDK looks like she's on her way out too.

I think Silverwood let Vekoma work with the ride. Six Flags probably just hired Premier to hopefully fix everything.

The 2021 park map has been posted.

Thanks for sharing the updated map. Interesting to see Sky Trek Tower and Roaring Rapids noted as 'Closed for Season'.

Opening Day video posted. It is a bit long, about an hour, but did an entire walk through of the park. Includes Tsunami Surge, New water park entrance, Scenic Railway tracks, Holiday train in the Demon tunnel, most rides working, etc.

Thanks, Rob! I'm not sure when I'll be at the park this year, it was so great to see your thorough tour.

We're going on 5/1. Were all of the coasters working on 4/24?? How about Giant Drop, how many seats did it have open?

Thanks Rob. Nicely detailed. Good to see the park again.

My big takeaways:

1) The terms for the dining pass have been improved "for a limited time". The terms "lunch" and "dinner" have been abstracted to "first meal" and "second meal". The first meal can be taken anywhere from 11:00 til closing. Same for snacks. The second meal can be taken anywhere from 90 minutes after your first meal til closing.

https://youtu.be/wtVYrkYcgOA?t=1423

2) Ordering food through the mobile app allows you to choose your food and reserve a time for you to place that order. Once that time arrives, you have to go into the app again and confirm that you have arrived. Only then will the food be prepared.

https://youtu.be/wtVYrkYcgOA?t=3521

3) No more cash sales.

https://youtu.be/wtVYrkYcgOA?t=1283

4) Train tracks are currently under construction.

https://youtu.be/wtVYrkYcgOA?t=977

5) Coming into the park, temperature and security is a quick walk through before getting to the main gate. No sunglasses or hats at this point.

https://youtu.be/wtVYrkYcgOA?t=1160

6) No more hand stamps for reentry into the park. Instead, paper vouchers are provided.

https://youtu.be/wtVYrkYcgOA?t=1068

7) Rob likes ice cream on wafer cones.

At 24:33 into Rob's video, you can see Giant Drop was open, along with the girl sanitizing the ride:

I wasn't there, but from the video and other posts I gather that Sky Trek Tower and Roaring Rapids are closed all season (per the maps), and Justice League and Dark Knight are closed for now (and I presume until the state relaxes more rules).

Also seems like the Flintstones ride is gone too, but I don't remember if that happened earlier or not? Is that entire back section of Camp Cartoon closed off now, since both it's rides are gone?

The one that doesn't make as much sense to me is Roaring Rapids, unless they'd have to run with just one group at a time?

I also found it interesting that the HH path didn't seem to have changed even though it's no longer on the map.

Rob - Thanks for the video walk thru! I watched a little (after UnclePennyBags put in the time markers) and as usual it's super detailed!

UnclePennyBags - thanks for breaking down the video with the time markers!

I can't wait for Saturday!

The Garlic Knots are actually pretty good.

Need to try the Deep Fried Oreos assuming they're on the Dining Pass

Roaring Rapids is apparently closed due to need some refurbished in spots. I don’t think it has anything to do with covid restrictions.

Tower is closed due to covid.

^^^ I really hope they make permanent the dining hour change for the Meal Passes! It should make the lines more manageable and eliminate the huge lines that happen around the end of lunch and dinner fixed times .

I was at Six Flags STL 2x last year and I think they had the "new" model for Meal Pass times and it worked well.

Great video Rob! I just watched the entire thing. Thanks for the walk thru.

Question: are those boneless wings and that loaded chicken sandwich a new thing? I've never been in that chicken place by Eagle. I like the nachos/funnel cake place across from Demon because I can get a meal and the funnel cake with only 1 wait in line!
