I will say this again -
There are no restrictions regarding American Eagle. That whole "We cant build this near the street or tollway" is ridiculous.
What about the supposed height ceiling which prevents us getting a giga??

The height restriction is not supposed its actual:
Waukegan Airport is very close to the park, and nothing can be built taller than 330 Feet, due to FAA regulations.
However, for anything less than that height the rules regarding variances are very specific.
If the proposal is less than 500 feet from a residential area, a height variance is required for any and all proposals higher than 125 feet.
If the proposal is more than 500 feet from a residential area, a height variance is required for any and all proposals higher than 200 feet.
This is why a height variance was not required for Wrath - because it is more than 500 feet from a residence and less than 200 feet tall.
Looks like the great park purge has begun, hopefully we can came out of this unscathed
We will.
They will close or sell off smaller parks or some of the standalone water parks…like Rockford. Those standalone water parks never made such. It’s such a short operating season and very weather dependent.

Rockford is owned by the city and Six Flags is the operator.

Right. So when that lease ends, it’s very likely they don’t renew…they operate a lot of those standalones. I imagine those leases will be allowed to expire.

Yes. That’s always been the case.
The problem is the park doesn’t have a ton of space to build something 300 tall.

Which is why Eagle could be replaced by Iron Eagle: Soaring to New Heights (B&M Giga with red/white/blue theme)

I should add: The park will rarely ever need a variance for the first category of 125 feet. If you measure from the edge of the park to the fence of any residence to the east, there's not a lot of land that falls within that 500ft Boundary. Maybe parts of Picnic Grove, Boneyard, V2, and Rapids.
Eagle would be another since there's one house on that farm

Besides, we're getting WOR next year better to wait a few years before speculating
I feel like anything can happen nowadays. I mean look at Cedar Point, roller coaster outta no where. I think there could be more surprises. Plus they LOVE Great America since it’s a cash cow.
I guess I should chime in on the giga discussion. I’ve looked into the FAA height limits many years ago but now that I have a drone I can tell you all specifically that the height limit for the park is 500 feet! It specifically tells you this when you start a drone flight depending on where you are based on gps. Now just to the back of the park the height drastically drops to 150 ft on like Milwaukee Ave and NE of there. Does this mean you build that high…of course not. It would still need to go through the proper channels to get approval for that height.
So in theory I guess we could have something much taller than 330ft. When I’m up with the drone doing the videos for wrath construction I’m flying around 385 feet and if I go higher then the limit which is actually 394ft then I get an immediate alarm on the controller that says FAA restricted airspace. You can also get this information from the FAA website.

I don't think Cedar Fair is going to wait a couple years, I think the next major attraction will come sooner than most people think. They know Great America is a cash cow and will do what is necessary in a timely fashion to make sure that attendance and per cap spending keeps going up.
PLEASE stop talking about how we don't have space LOL if WOR is not proof you can do a lot with very little, I don't know if yall will ever get it. Anything is possible. We have the space for a giga. It's just a matter of seeing what it can & would interact with already existing in the park.

Absolutely. It would be tricky, because they would have to move the green houses and clear out the junk in the graveyard. But in my opinion this plot of land would be great for a giga

They could move the employee lot to the blue space and then the current lot is the giga twister thing but only the park knows. I'm not gonna go further you guys do you about the coasters thoughts.
