Always enjoyed that ride. But now that I’m thinking of it I think they were having issues getting parts.

The Orbit was removed at the end of the 2016 season (40 years). Lobster used to be in Yankee Harbor (called East river crawler when batman came in) by where joker is now
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

Yeah i do, but i don't really want it at the sacrifice of the original Americana theme

There was barley ever an Americana theme there, the county fair has historically been the worst area at Great America in terms of theming or atmosphere, it's just a blacktop path masquerading as a generic games area, which is really only held up in the American Eagle Plaza, even then it's just not a great area visually. Revamping the area near Rakshasa can only be beneficiary assuming we got an area similar to copperhead strikes per say, and if it is preservation you are concerned about (which I understand), at worst this new area will only take up the lesser half of the county fair area, so we will be getting an original land and avoiding another DC universe situation.
Some time, on way to successful, first of steps of all of the steps to being successful steps are hardest of all of the steps to successing.

Moving the County Fair sign closer to X-Flight wouldn't be sacrificing the Americana theme, it would be improving it. Demon doesn't fit with County Fair. Neither does Wrath of Rakshasa.

But if you retheme that area with Demon and Rakshasa to ghost town or whatever. All of a sudden. Everything makes sense.

There's nothing more Americana than spooky locations. As someone who's been on many voyages to Cuba road and Bachelors Grove. I can tell you haunted stuff is as American as apple pie

You definitely got a point here, especially since it will be a "small area"

You do know that it said "hometown square" on the other side? it's probably getting removed.

Do you have to be so pessimistic on literally everything the park may or may not do?

The sign could easily be modified to still say County Fair on one side then whatever the new themed area would be on the other.

If they keep it in the same spot then the County Fair side be changed.

If I was a betting man, they would probably move the existing sign to the edge of the new area by X-Flight where the game building used to be since it still fits the county fair theme and then a new one made for the new area where it's currently placed.

Has the bottom of the sign been removed? Could they have just removed the top just to get trucks through there?

I liked that they rehabbed the new sign a few years ago. With that in mind, should be easy to replace if it does get taken down.

He seems to think Great Americas best days are behind us. Whereas most of us think that Great Americas best days are infront of us, especially with Cedar fair running the show now.

Park President had said during the WoR press conference that a new mini area for Demon and WoR is on the table, nothing set in stone though. It could even come after WoR opens in a following season.

If they could also ad a small flat ride to the area it would be great. But I really don’t see where there’d be room for that.

I have always wanted to see a flat ride near JLBFM. It's underwhelming that there's a whole "area" for Metropolis Plaza and its only one ride and one dipindots stand.

There might be space for a small ride here:

They could fit a small ride to the left of JL if they get rid of the ridiculous amount of outdoor queue they have. Just like the obnoxious amount they built for MaxxForce.

Hopefully they go the X Flight route and don’t build un-needed queue but have a space for temporary overflow like X Flight did

Anyone else notice the roughness on X-Flight this year? I’ve ridden rows 1/2 and rows 7/8, both sides and both seats, and the ride has been unbearably rough for me. It’s gets the worst towards the end with the head banging.

After riding Iron Menace a few weeks ago, was even rougher than that. X-flight was hardly rough before, but something is definitely off this year.

I think it's about the same as the past few years, it's been noticeable for a few years now for me

Appreciate the feedback. I’m used to everyone saying how butter smooth it is but truly it isn’t.

I have 48 rides on X-Flight this year! TO me it's not rough at all. There's maybe a little bounce before entering the inline twist (Tower) but that's it. I rode it 10x on 7/30 (7 of those were consecutive) and it was smooth :)

Anyone else agree with me that a NebulaZ or a Chance Freestyle (if there’s room) would go great here?

Also, the water jet pond on X Flight has been drained. Maybe they are finally going to fix that this offseason?

The park usually does that when it rains to prevent overflow of the pond.

I’ll have to check on that. I’ve never seen it empty. And I’ve been to the park on rainy days before.
