I feel like that may be the case since after all, Rak was chosen by Selim, not the current president. I would love just more picnics in the Picnic Grove! I noticed the gate open one time so I decided to wander in there, but I only got to about the second pavilion before some old employee came and closed up the gate behind us. I only went in because I had never been in there before, so it sucked not getting to see the whole thing.
If SFGAm wanted a quick and easy event idea, just have some dinner in the Picnic Grove (or don't, at least use the picnic area to group event attendees), keep the guests in there until guests without tickets clear out, and then release the attendees. Heck, the park could even close the park to normal visitors earlier to avoid paying employees extra.
The peak event in my eyes would be Trimtober, as I would call it. A couple nights in October, most likely during weekdays at night, only open the park to enthusiasts, but all coasters would have no trips maybe with the exception of Eagle if the park is worried about the longevity of that ride. Sure, it would just be HoliWood nights, but it would still be amazing.

There are plenty of enthusiasts throughout Chicagoland and Wisconsin to support an event, no question

They start out working fine but then after like 30 mins the two arms just stop working.

The lights always annoy me. Three support beams and the arm will be on one light pattern, and the one lone support beam will be on another. It annoys me so much. Part of me wishes that it had opened maybe a month later so that they could have fixed programming/ride issues. The two biggest of those being the restraints and the lights.

At SFNE earlier this month, their discovery had an arm that was just white. Would not change at all. Looked pretty bad. Hopefully ours does not get to that point

Nice to hear. If it came to SFGAm, I wonder if they would have to leave the entire perimeter they recently built, or if they can still smoke in the "plaza" (between security and ticket scanning). I can't recall at a park like Cedar Point if they have to go through security again or if they can just hang out in the plaza between security and ticket scanning.

It definitely should, it's been starting to become a problem here
Agreed. For the most part, GP have been smoking in the old HH plaza, which is good, but I literally saw somebody VAPING in the Sky Striker queue. I'm sorry, they need cameras with that queue being the way it is. I could kind-of excuse the vapers if they were smoking in let's say, Eagle's queue, but Sky Striker's is pure switchbacks. People are all around you.
Side Note: In June 2023, I saw a condom on the ground in Maxx Force's queue. They need more trash cans in that queue or something.
These are the prefect policies to help make Six Flags Great America more family friendly. Chaperone policies, getting rid of these scumbag surcharges, banning smoking and from what I saw on Coaster Nicks new video cutting the price of parking.
I am confident that Cedar Fair can make Great America the Magic Mountain of the Midwest while at the same time making it beautiful and family friendly. Zimmerman has been in control of the legacy Six Flags parks since July and I already love what he's doing

I agree 100%! Cedar Fair will Make Great America Great Again! These changes are all positives. Parking went down to $30 (should be like $20 even)
They also need to ENFORCE the dress code! No nude/almost nude images on t-shirts, no profanity, no skimpy outfits on women, and NO sagging pants on males (showing underwear)
Single Day Ride Count Record
50 rides 8/17/2018 (Without Flash Pass - Coasters After Dark)
Disagree on the "Magic Mountain of the Midwest" part, that seems like Cedar Point's/Kings Island's job, i can totally see Great America taking the Knott's route if they begin to embrace the theming again (especially since again, it's more prevalent here than at CP/KI) and in my opinion, the best choice if they were to take a "family friendly" approach.
Despite Rakshasa not fitting into the County Fair, i hope these "designs" they mentioned at the press conference turn out to be good and paves the way to great storytelling and immersion that this park can benefit from.
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

With Cedar Point being the Disneyland of the Midwest, I can see SFGAm becoming the MM of the Midwest. I don't really care about parking anymore since I have a Season Pass, as do most people I think do on here, but it could definitely scare off some GP. I agree with everything else you say.

I wish they would enforce the dress code, but I guess teenagers help teenagers. Profanity is a HUGE issue, more than anything else. Heard some kids yelling f*** and d*** when I was in line for Raging Bull once. I've never seen males wearing saggy pants, but I don't want to imagine it. As for the nude images on t-shirts, I think the only shirts with that kind-of thing on them are Harley Quinn official t-shirts. Besides that, get rid of them please, along with those skimpy outfits. I get so tired of seeing them at school, I don't want to see them at a park.
So the lighting issue on Sky Striker must be a glitch in the programming….St Louis’ Joker ride is doing the exact same thing. 2 of the arms are just stuck while the others are changing and moving.

Speaking of SFStL, it shocks me that Joker: CoC is opening this late into the season. On the other hand, with the Fright Fest, the timing works out.

Looks like the County Fair sign has been removed. Maybe they will retheme that area with Demon and Rakshasa to ghost town or haunted trails or something spooky and just move the County Fair entrance near X-Flight That easily solves the theming problem for that area.
I think Cedar Fair will definitely focus a lot more on theming and the parks history. However, Cedar Fair loves to build large roller coasters. Especially at their flagship parks. You can almost take it to the bank they will add some amazing roller coasters to Great America

They're probably going to retheme that area and move the County Fair entrance closer to X-Flight. Isn't this what you wanted? The theming of the rides to fit the area?
So I haven’t been in the park past max force for like 5 years… (might have been 4) either way. 1. When did they get rid of the Orbit?! [emoji23] and 2. I know we previously had The Lobster but I can’t recall where it was located. I was watching a fright fest video today to see what they added and saw The Orbit in the cemetery. Always enjoyed that ride. But now that I’m thinking of it I think they were having issues getting parts.
