Double post but is this going to be the 2018 rumors thread too?

I'd say no. This thread is for minor occurences at the park, so also making this the speculation thread would be kind of confusing.

Anyone know what is up with Justice League? There was a sign in front of it yesterday that said it would not open and according to wait times, it has been closed all day.

I remember the Justice League being around. There was Batman, Robin, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Riddler, Sinestro, Cheetah, Hawkgirl, etc if I'm missing anyone else. They used to be around quite a bit and then like someone mentioned after 2012 or so they vanished and only show up when a DC ride opens or with BTR backwards, Batman showed up.

So apparently Dollywood is running the launch slower on lightning rod so it barely goes over the top hill. So this means that Goliath may still have the speed record at 72mph

It was open today (I saw that sign still sitting next to the ride though, turned the other way). I didn't notice any difference in the ride (although I'd only been on it twice ever before, so it's possible I could have missed something).

Went to the park today for the first time in a month or so, noticed a bunch more "Water Refill Stations" (one in Orleans Place, one in Southwest Territory, maybe others). They're useful, so I'm glad they've added more.

Not a park update but the non 3D Google Earth view of the park is updated to this season now and Joker can be seen.

RIP - BAFF and Read to Suckeed. That is going to be slammed. Those Saturdays may actually hit capacity.

Going back to this, I thought I had seen this elsewhere, but now I can't find this anywhere (in email or my account). Anybody know if this is for everybody or just for specific people they gave the deal to?

There is now *another* "Bonus" Bring a Friend for Free June 20th-30th

On the bright side, it's only valid for one day per recipient and it looks like only select people are getting the offer (Only 3/7 people in my family got it)

That is actually not true. The launch wasn't slowed down at all.

Yeah, I saw the email the day AFTER I used the 19.99 offer for this week for my daughter on 6/21. Oh well, I suppose I'm helping to support the new ride for next year :)

This is currently just a rumor from JiggidyNDG but does anyone know anymore information about The Lobster possibly not being able to fit in Orbit's spot?

That would be a classic Six Flags move of not measuring. On a high note, could that mean Orbit could return and Lobster will go in Sky Trail's spot. #2018

I'm kinda angry with Great America. You had this whole month to set the Lobster up and you haven't yet. Like Whiz Kid said, 2018's edition will be the Lobster. And hopefully a revamp of Demon.

Looking at Google maps, Lobster does appear to be too big for Orbit's spot. Typical Six Flags fashion...

I thought that before I really start to bash Six Flags, I would check this out for myself...
I started my search on http://schwarzkopf-coaster.net/hauptmenueGF.htm as I know they had some original scans from Schwarzkopf catalogs. Starting with Orbit, which I am pretty sure is an Enterprise 3. Santa Clara's is listed as a 3 on TPR's Shane's Amusemnt Attic. Image
The site lists the ground space as 66 to 74 ft. The catalog says the width is 65 ft.
Image
Take whichever you choose.
On to Lobster. Now this one is a little tricky trying to figure out which model it is. I believe it is a Monster III, but according to Schwarzkopf Coaster, the Monster III was not made until 1979. Everything I have been able to find says it is a III, so that is what we are going with. Also, my measurement from later match. Shane's Amusement has a page that says the ride is 58 ft in diameter and Schwarzkopf Coaster says the ground space is 72 to 74 ft.
Image
From this, you can tell Orbit would be a little smaller, but it doesn't seem like to big of a difference.
Next, I moved on to checking Google maps. Once again, I started with Orbit, which has a pad diameter of 62 ft
Image
by 68 ft.
Image
The ride wheel itself is around 46 ft.
Image

For Lobster, the pad is around 72 ft, quite a bit larger than Orbit.
Image
For the width of the ride unit, it is, like we said earlier, 58 ft.
Image
If they put it right where the center of Orbit's wheel, this gives them 2 feet on the sides not by the Ride Op booth. Assuming they move up a little bit, they may gain a foot or so, but not enough. Now I am no engineer or safety expert, but those cars spin and 3 feet is not a lot of room. In their old locations, the rides had about 8 feet on the sides.
Image
Image

I am saying this is not going to work and Lobster will be back in 2018. If you see anything wrong, please post it! Yeah, I was really bored, leave me alone.

^^Flat joint has it listed as a Monster II, not a III. http://flatrides.com/rides/monsterii.html
