I searched this site but didn't find any comments on this topic. I rode Viper with my brother and found the seats to be the tiniest of any of the thrill coasters at the park. They felt narrower than the coach seats on a commercial airplane (I'd hate to be a woman with birthing hips). I don't think we're huge, but our shoulders must be broader than the general public because we were pressing each other away from the centerline of the train. Anyone else notice that Viper's seats are narrow? Strange I've never heard anyone mention this.

They're the typical PTC Trains. I'd imagine if you had a problem on Viper, you should've also had a problem with Eagle. I don't really have a problem(mainly because I'm the scrawny type and I always ride alone), but there really isn't anything to change it.
We only rode the coasters covered by the Flash Pass. Didn't get to American Eagle, but it's probably for the better. We were really crammed in and uncomfortable before the ride began; it went downhill (no pun intended) from there.
Both Viper and American Eagle have PTC trains, BUT the lap bars are different. I understand where he's coming from. I'm 6 foot one and I defiantly know what he's talking about. On American Eagle, the lap bars are straight. However on Viper, around your shin, the lap bar moves in towards the passenger, thus creating a narrower space. I feel you, as I always have to sit diagonally.
Both Viper and American Eagle have slightly wider than normal seat dividers, most SF parks use em, but it makes each seat maybe an inch narrower than normal, but they are on the tight side. Only halfway decent solution, even though a lot of people don't like em, myself included is the hollow seat dividers, where it's like an office chair arm, where it's like a loop with a hole in the middle, so once you're in the seat you kinda spread out into it. Most non SF parks seem to be switching to those. They are horribly hard though and uncomfortable during laterals.

Right, it was the seat divider I was feeling at butt-level. That and the shoulder press made for an uncomfortable ride.
