Is the park food the same quality as last year? I had a dining pass last year and was very disappointed. I'd rather leave the park and get fast food than even eat the food they had for free. However, the snack option with the deluxe is quite tempting. I don't think it was necessarily the product itself (though that also isn't very high quality) but it was the fact that it was usually served cold, which is strange because the service was so slow you'd think they were waiting for more to be made. Overall how has the food situation been this year? Is service faster? Is the food more edible?
The food is the same as any other year. I have the Deluxe dining plan, and it was worth it! The snacks include lots of unexpected things(Johnny Rocket's Milkshakes, FroYo, and even Funnel Cakes). Some 'upgrades' require a $3 upcharge(normal funnel cake to a Sundae), but they're worth it.

I've never really eaten park food from Great America though other than last year. Was last year a particularly bad year or was it typical in terms of speed and quality?
^ I as well had the teriyaki chicken at Chop Six yesterday and it was not good. The chicken was fried and the teriyaki sauce was non existent. The fried rice wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. I would have much rather had Panda Express, but I'm guessing that the park doesn't make as much margin from Panda so they kicked them out and tried to put something else in there that ended up not being very good.
I got the season pass this year and I agree that the snacks are awesome. One of the things I was frustrated with yesterday was that a lot of the restaurants were closed and almost all the restaurants where you can use the dining pass had over a 45 minute wait for food at lunch time yesterday. I was able to find a short line at the Go Fresh at the front of the park and the food was passable. I don't get why when the park is open for the public, Mooseburgers, Jb's, Aunt Ann's and several of the pizza places around the park are closed. It's just frustrating when your longest line of the day is for food.
Hopefully it gets a bit better when the park gets their act together as the season progresses.
^ You will always see stuff closed on weekdays in May. Unfortunately kids are still in school and that makes it extremely difficult to staff the park. I usually try to get lunch right at 11:30 on days when I know it will either be busy or days where I know the park will be low on staff.
Also, when did we get Auntie Anne's pretzels in the park
I don't buy food from the park anymore.. It's gross, overpriced and the service is bad... At least most of the time. I recommend leaving the park to get food

I'm personally confused. They say in ads for the Dining Pass say "snackS" But when I got a funnel cake during lunch and then tried to get a churro during dinner time, The lady refused and said I already got a snack that day. I'm confused.

Yeah, I couldn't remember the name of the fried chicken place and that was the best I could come up with.
