Superman has not run yet this year because neither train is ready. Lots of other stuff behind as well. Gonna be interesting on May 4th.

This flag from the old ticket booths was really tempting.

Based on what I saw today, X Flight was only running 1 train. Viper was running 1 train. Batman and Whizzer also have not run yet though Whizzer is because its too cold. Raging Bull had 2 trains running (Teal and Yellow). American Eagle appeared to be running 2 trains (Red side only).

EDIT: Whizzer has run, they must have been on break when I was up there.

They can run rides during the week if they're ready for testing and state inspections. The bigger issue will be getting enough people in for training so that enough people are trained to operate the rides.

Hopefully they can pull everything together for May 4th. Any word on how the igNight stage is going?

^ Very slow. That's how. From what I've heard, they haven't even quite finished the tear down yet. It's going to be a mess. It wouldn't surprise me at all if igNight construction keeps Triple Play closed.

^i agree triple play probably will be closed. Also makes me wonder if the weather has to due with them being so far behind or if its just because six flags likes to slack off and not get work done

I think it's more than fair to blame the weather. This winter — the calendar said 'Spring', but it sure as hell didn't feel like it — was the first time I had to work outdoor lacrosse matches in February, March and April. Every time we went out there, it was more and more miserable. If the windchill wasn't 10 degrees, then it was raining, sometimes cats and dogs. At least lacrosse gets played in all weather; it's been worse for college baseball & softball teams that have had to cancel large blocks of their schedules.

There might be some stuff still being worked on in the first month, but that's largely fine by me. School groups and private functions can live with limited functionality, and if the weather gets nice enough that the weekends get popular, then it will (hopefully) also get nice enough that they'll be able to work fast to prepare what needs preparing.

I would hope people would think about that and be understanding, but I know better than for theme park crowds to understand even the simplest of safety instructions, much less why a brutal winter would hold up prep. This is why I am largely misanthropic.

I know for a fact that there has been no clacking going on. More rides than usual had total rehab done to them which, surprise surprise, takes time. Also with Batman going backwards I am sure getting those trains assembled takes priority over getting whizzer or superman with full units. Lets remember Superman has had only one train without that team having to worry about getting batman trains fully put together. Lets think things through before accusing the best maintenance team in the chain of slacking off.

So very true. It'll be even worse this year since other trains get done after Superman's 2nd train....I hate superman for multiple reasons, but this is number one since it's an inconvenience to other rides. Other rides should be getting 2nd and third trains before that POS.

^ Bull and Whizzer's 3rd trains come after Superman's 2nd train. The issue this year is all the other stuff that still needs a 2nd train before Superman.

It's kind of what I meant. If all this takes place before work on Superman is even started then Bull and Whizzer's third train will be even later this year compared to previous years.

Bull should pretty much always have three trains, Whizzer can normally be fine with two. I don't know if this is still true, but a few years ago, early 2010 I believe, my group was told that if it comes down to it they'll put Superman on one train to get everything else to two. Kinda surprising considering it's popularity and capacity, you'd think they'd make Superman a priority.

Sadly Superman is priority most of the time. Even though I think it's the most overrated coaster ever right next to Millennium Force.

I have no idea if this is true but did v2 get new harnesses? It looked like it did on the video 6flags posted about there working hard ect. Also I can see the weather being a major problem since it has been nothing but rain in the past 2 Weeks and its cold out. I just would like to see superman up and running opening day and see all other rides(xflight viper) have there 2 trains going!

Yes. V2 got new harnesses. Also, Batman is getting new seats on at least one of the trains.

Opening day is only disappointing if you go expecting everything to be running at 100%. You have rides and crews that are always trying to work out the "kinks" anyways.

usually the GP expect that which never happens than you hear them complain lines are to long and stuff. well $20 tickets and you expect them to be 100% in operation isn't happening

So is X-Flight's second train going to be ready for opening day or is it second proirity after Superman's second train. I really hope both trains are ready because it would be pretty stupid of them not to have their newest coaster fully ready for opening day.
