That would be awesome! I wonder if they're going to keep the name Six Flags Great America for the long term, or just call it Great America and ditch the Six Flags name

This seems likely. Magic Mountain is getting a new sign and the sign is dropping the name “Six Flags”
The park has posted the operating schedule. Opening Day is April 18th! That is Easter weekend which is why I’m assuming they elected to open one week earlier.

Awesome! Since the 18th is Good Friday and school's out, that means I can attend Opening Day for the first time -- whether Rakshasa is open or not!
That’s still very impressive and I’m sure we’re not far behind some of the top legacy Cedar Fair parks. With the village and Great America having such a good relationship together I hope that means they will approve that giga in the next few years [emoji39]

It won’t be open. They already said the target day is Memorial Day…and given where they are at in construction, they seem to be on track with a Memorial Day weekend open. The last new ride to open before Memorial Day was X Flight and that was only a few weeks before.
That final turn has always been a doozy, I doubt retracking will make it that much better. It would need to be re profiled since the train enters that turn with so much speed.

When Viper was brand new, it would stop super abruptly after completing that turn! SO much so that I still brace myself now (25+ years later)!
Single Day Ride Count Record
50 rides 8/17/2018 (Without Flash Pass - Coasters After Dark)
No surprise and this likely signals the end of memberships all together in the coming years, but Six Flags is getting rid of the Platinum and Diamond Elite legacy membership.
Everyone will be upgraded to the next level and a price increase will be a part of it. You should get an email.
