Has anyone purchased the American Eagle Blueprint currently available for $50? If so, how was the quality and do you think it was worth it? I may have someone pick one up for me as I may not be able to make a trip to SFGAm this year. Thanks!
I bought one of these in 1982 and it used to hang in my bedroom. Now it's hanging above my 14 year old son's bed! I was surprised to see them selling this poster again after all these years! I can tell you it was NOT $50 in 1982, though!
No, they won't do that. I tried a couple of years ago to get a coaster team jacket sent to me and they flat out said NO.
Candy: What you lookin' at? Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama. Candy: Yeah, you see something you like? Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.
It is only in the store by Pictorium in Carousel Plaza (next to STT). The store is called Carousel {something} They have stuff for all the coasters (mugs, glasses, t-Shirts, hats, etc), but the Eagle is the only they have the blue prints for. In addition, the prints are numbered as well as they offer a framed version for $450. Since it is the Eagles 30th anniversary, I would not expect these to be there after this year (unless they have overstock).
OMG This is the best purchase I have ever made!! I got mine weeks ago, in fear they'd sell out. But I have print #34 out of 100.
I personally think it is well worth the money, it is a print on photo paper that is 2ft x 4ft 8in. Its pretty large, I didn't expect the size until I saw the display, but layin it out in person was mind blowing. I LOVE IT!! Its the best souvenir SFGAm has ever made & seein AE is my favorite ride, I couldn't have asked for a better souv. Seriously.
It is in the bottom bin in the next section to the right of the AE blueprints. There is no sample out but a bunch of tubes along the bottom. They are smaller than the AE one.
I to saw these there. I thought they were more then $50 though. They look really cool and ONLY 100! If these are a success, i can see Great America doing a bunch more for other coasters birthdays and such.
BTW: V2 shirts were taken down after BB/Dark Knight opened Another BTW: The store is just to the right of the main gate by STT and is called Carousel Plaza Gifts

Best 2011 Moment: "I lost my phone on Raging Bull!" "WELL I LOST A SOCK!!!" Best 2012 Moment: "No good! DREAM ON!" Best 2013 Moment: "I came here for Auntie Anne's pretzels and coasters......in that order!"
The original blueprint poster was either 6 or 8 feet long. Someone I know has one. Looks like they went for half size this time around, probably for the better

There's no way that someone would spend that much on a framed print of AE. You can certainly get it framed elsewhere for a LOT cheaper. A framed print is not worth $500. Now, if it was the original AE 1981 blueprint from Intamin, then that be a different story.
I bought #30 and was happy with it. Cool concept and it would look great on my wall once I clear some space and find a frame that is less than $450. I would venture a guess, the one in the frame is #1 which would be a little more collectible than the rest since it's #1. I went with #30 since it's the 30th anniversary of the ride and that might make that # a little more desirable than the rest.
I had an original one of these from 1981 hanging in my room for years. It was always one of my favorite park souvenirs.
It eventually faded (after 15 years of sun exposure) so I ended up tossing it out. The original's were slightly different than what is being sold at the park. He's a fuzzy picture of my poster scanned from a old 110 camera photo:
