If i understand correctly, They will be using the Kiddieland Sign on Little Dipper. I seriously doubt just because there is one sign, that automatically means a new themed area.
Although, KL was selling the big neon sign that was at the entrance of the park at auction for a think it was around $5000, That would have been a nice little addition to the area had SF bought it.
Never the less who cares what area LD is in, it will be a great addition to our park.
^The pole was on ebay for 8k, i don't remember if anyone bid on it though. To me it would be nice if they rethemed one of the areas to kiddieland. Kill off camp cartoon for all I care, when it lost the word network, it just sounds so strange to say.
If you read on TPR about Mark Shapiro's superfan coaster conference call or whatever, he was discussing theming.
From TPR wrote:We will have a better balance sheet to invest in both areas and will spend more in getting these parks back to the way they should be with different sections themed to the areas they are in. We may openly retheme the areas we already have or may start over completely with certain areas. They may retheme rides like was done with Bizarro when moving forward. Shapiro would like to bring back more flat rides into the parks. He notes that, “its not about savings, but what’s best for the parks overall.”
I could just be being a bit too hopeful and seeing something like that. It seems to have a bit of naturalness to it though.
1. He wants to be family friendly 2. He just bought a family favorite coaster 3. Kiddieland will forever be associated in Chicago minds as the quaint family park 4. That, to me, seems like WAY too big of a sign just for a coaster 5. There's nothing on there that says "LITTLE DIPPER THIS WAY!" 6. Following up with number 5, it says Kiddieland ENTRANCE, not Kiddieland ride this way.
I wouldn't bet too much but I'd throw down some money that we might see Kiddieland the area sometime soon.

So you think just because they bought one.... count it ONE sign theres going to be a new themed area? Even though they already said the area is going to be Looney Tunes?
1. We can only see one sign which is a guidance sign... that doesn't mean there isn't any other signs. 2. They could theme a different area to Kiddie land... yeah that doesn't make total sense but you never know.
The more practical thought would be Davids (did i just say that?) and it would be a museum queue or something to that effect. I just would totally like to see an area themed to Kiddieland, even if it's namesake only.

I'll just say where that sign came from (besides Kiddieland). That sign used to be in the "back entrance" of Kiddieland. The back entrance is the road that Triton College is on, and that's why Kiddieland had that sign. A new themed area probably not, but you know they want to show people like anything of where that ride came from. Maybe they will have that sign just pointing at the Little Dipper, or they could put it just right at the front of the area with the Looney Tunes sign.

Whether or not this happens I'd like to see SFGAm re-create the BOBS of Riverview... That's my dream for the park, & maybe the historical addition of LittleDipper to our lineup is the start a man can dream, ladies & gents. Haha but anyhow, the LittleDipper is movin along great.

That would be awesome, but I don't think they'd ever do it. Geauga Lake had the Raging Wolf Bobs which was supposed to be just that, a recreation of the Bobs from Riverview. However, with the closing of that park, the ride went unsold (as far as I know, please correct me if I'm wrong) and is either rotting at the park or in the scrapheap. Six Flags had a chance to get one for a much cheaper price than a new coaster and passed it up. Granted, there were likely issues that kept them from buying it, like having no plans, money, or room for it at the time.

It was patterned after the Riverview Bobs, but was nowhere near a recreation. I was told it was torn down within the last 6 months or so.

In a word: AWESOME Yes that would be just about the best thing that they could do, but why stop there? What about putting in a replica of Aladdin's Castle along with some other Riverview rides call is the streets of yesterday and really relive the past of Six Flags and all other amusement parks. Have the workers here dressed in period costumes have real food and old throw back rides like the Whip and Roll-O-Plane, and definately the BOBS. Have an art deco enterance to the area say maybe a replica of the Belmont-Western Enterance??
Yes, the Raging wolf bobs was no where near the Riverview bobs sadly. I have an old huge riverview book & my uncle...oh my god I cant believe I'm going to announce this....my uncle, Marshall Brodein, worked at riverview with the freak show(s) before he became whizzo on, yes the BOZO SHOW. haha no joke, it just creeps me out a bit. so he has alot of memorabilia on the park & the BOBS itself & you can clearly see the difference in both coasters.
