I think you guys said that the yellow car was completely redone with new everything. I left the ride and an operator asked if I were ok, and continued to ask if I was nauseous. I WASN'T! My face was completely red and was aching. Anyone know why this is THIS bad. A new train should mean a smoother ride. Iron Wolf is nothing compared to this!
how new is the yellow train, I went on the yellow train in late July and it was ok except the corkscrews which weren't to bad
(sings)If you want to be my Chang-y, doesn 't matter if your black or white, or brown, or blue, or green, or red, or orange, or mauve, or yellow... 2010 trips- Dollywood, SFGAm, maybe SoCal

Who's your grammar teacher?!

You know, my old grammer teacher sacred me so much with correct grammer I cringe when I make one mistake in grammer (it's too, not to!)

It depends on where you sit. I suggest sitting in the front row of the back car, on the exit side, it is the smoothest seat. If you sit near the front you will be jackhammered more. And regardless of if the train was rehabbed or not the ride is still a 30+ year old Arrow looper cut it some slack.

I realize that, but this is also a safety hazard.
^^^i haz noh grammer teechur. (I have no grammer teacher.
And How is it a safety hazard? IronWolf's Trains are bumpy, Eagles' trains are bumpy....and Demon is just as old...nope, older than both of those. and your telling me you wouldn't expect it to be a be bit rough?

Why thank you
Could you imagine a small child going on the ride, "Whee Lift hill... AHAAHHAH LOOP! MY HEAD CRACKED!! AHH!!!"
I just think that SixFlags has many better things to put in that spot. Hell, I'd rather have kept De`Ja Vu and lost Demon and Whizzer. If SixFlags wants to attract people, they need new rides. They haven't added a new flat in years.
^Getting rid of Whizzer is a bad Idea. Even though it's bound to happen sooner or later. You know Six Flags would get flamed by guests for getting rid of a classic. I can admit, the coasters are rough, but if you want to solve your problem....
Don't ride the yellow train, it's mostly Psychology, because you can trick your mind by riding red, or black and "feeling" less pain. You can manipulate your mind into thinking it's not as bad as the yellow train. The same works for me on the Iron Wolf. So I have to wait a little longer for the seat I wan...Big Deal

Yes I saw small children going on Demon all the time. The height requirement is 42" plus its an attractions that kids parents when on when they were kids, so they take their kids to Great America to ride the Demon because its an experience they can share together and relate to. And most of the time the kids are so thrilled to be going on a big coaster they just get off thinking oh my god that was scary and amazing and dont even notice the roughness. Its really when you get older it bothers you more.
Also that train isn't entirely new, its heavily rehabbed. If they were going to buy brand new trains they would be different from the ones they have now. They've been on a rehab schedule for years and are the look has changed many times, train by train, over the years.

Actually, no. My cousins, who aren't tall enough to go on any of the bigger rides, LOVED Demon. None of them complained on how rough it was.

While they havn't added a new flat, they have been adding new rides like Buccaneer Battle and The Dark Knight. And while many of us have been critical of these new attractions, they are mainly geared towards families and I think Six Flags has attracted more people because of this.

I've actually had 2 marathon sessions on the yellow train this year (one for 45 minutes, one for an hour and a half.) and never hit my head once. The 45 minute one was in the back row and the 90 minute one was in the 3rd row. Maybe it's just me, but I honestly never hit my head on any arrow loopscrew.
All the cars on Demon are from the late 80's except for the back car of the black train, that one is from the 90's due to the accident. Rehab is basically a new coat of paint and a lot of NDT.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073

I'm Going to Get Destroyed for Saying This, But how about Getting New Trains Like These?

I remember riding Demon all the time when I was a kid not thinking it was rough. Yet, my dad thought it was awful. The older I got, the more I noticed it. The bigger your body gets, the harder the cars are on you, especially the harnesses.
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)
Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades
Also, i highly doubt GAm will be replacing the trains at any time. The ride's structure is falling apart, and the ride is coming to the end of it's life. However, a rehabbed track with new trains would be a really Fun ride!
Well the ride structure was falling apart for a period of time.... It was the area of track under the waterfall. It had suffered heavy water damage and was rusting and needed to be replaced.... So it was... And this happened just a few years ago...
Demon has plenty of years left in it, as well as the trains. Each year the trains undergo rigorous NDT testing of all of the welded joints and main support members. Any defects are then ground flat, re-welded, and reinspected.
Oh and Suf03sfgam you can stop laughing now.... I know I know...
Tech Services 1 had some pretty funny pictures of them digging out Demons lift supports which were worn down like toothpicks from awhile back. I would provide a link to the image, but it seems GAparks user galleries no longer has any users. All the pics are still there but because there are no users there is no classification and i'm too lazy to scroll through 37 pages of thumbnails.
