Fright Fest '09

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Paradise on July 15th, 2009, 9:27 am
Some may say it is too early to start such a topic. However, it is much closer then we think. What do we know so far about Fright Fest '09? What are YOU looking forward to for Fright Fest '09?

I really hope that they "up the ante" this year with the scare zone Necropolis. I thought it was kind of lame. My girlfriend who gets scared easier then anyone in the world, didn't jump once. Not bashing Necro, I just wish they would make it a little spookier.

Anyway, you're opinions.........NOW.

Boo Line?! OMG I remember Boo Line like it was yesterday. When it was actually CREEPY. They had the stop at the Hometown Station where there would be a group of guys with chainsaws running around the train! It was the best.

They DEFINITELY NEED TO BRING IT BACK!

I'd probably jump off the train, I know you can't do that but I hate chainsaws. I've had a bad history with chainsaws around Halloween.

^ haha easy for you to say, It isn't funny. I get the living daylights scared out of me, but I am a hypocrite when it comes to Halloween and I won't deny that. I hate getting scared but I love scaring people on Halloween. When I was 11, I was chased up a tree by a guy in our friends neighborhood that had a chainsaw.

I want it too not suck, like it has for the longest time!!!!!!!!!

They need to hire some of the people who run HHN at Universal Studios or people who run the event at Knotts and make the event scarier so its more than just a time to llok at the same old/tired decorations while walking to ride another coaster.

^ Problem is just the sheer cost. HHN at Universal is a separate ticket event, even to season passholders (well, platnum passholders do get 1 free, off peak night but that is it.) I'm not sure how well that would get over basicly cutting off season passholders. The other thing is the park is only open 2 and 1/2 days a week at this time. That's a ton of money for around 10-13 days.

I would like to see the Haunted Train make a come back as well as Superstition, Where were all of the fog machines that have littered the park in years before? Last year Hometown Square hardly had any themeing what was going on there? Blood river definately more people running around scaring people. It seemed tamer than in years past, I have only been like 4 times am i wrong to think like this or do other users here feel the same way?

How about one day, no kids. Seriously. No one under like 15. No strollers, no lil kids. Then, make FF SCARY! Like it should be. FF has turned into some "we're scared to get sued if we scare someone" kiddieland ride all over the park. Its crap. It fun to watch the clowns and the ghouls scare the lil teen girls out of their wits but they dont really do that anymore. And, yeah bring back the BOO line. If you dont want to get scared, or dont like things that go bump in the night, stay the hell at home.

The only other option would be that during the day its Kids stuff, at night, its all grown up.

Someone here works at SF, and if you do keep this in mind....FF is a joke.

^ FF is also a free event to passholders, unlike events at Universal and some Cedar Fair parks. So they basically are adding more new employees and still getting the same sized audience as an average summer weekend day. No reason to go all out when people will come anyway.

And kicking out kids would be the dumbest thing Six Flags has ever done. Families = $$$

No kids huh. yeeeaaaaaaahhhhh sure. Not sure what you mean by not scaring little teen girls anymore. I see it all the time when we go. Here is one example.....

I think they were pretty much scared. Though I agree with you on one thing....bring back Boo LIne!!!!

But no one really gets scared anymore? Necropolis is a joke. They can make improvements to the scares but they never do. Its the same people in the same spots every year. Its as predictable as sunshine.

And WTF is area 2? Is that code word to the clowns to GTFO?
