Thinking about this further. I am willing to bet that the 5/15 Physics Day event, Is media day for the ride which almost always is on a day when the park is not open. So lets not get our panties in a bunch about this.
May 15th will probably be a Media Day and PhysiX Day. X-Flight will probably start running for Media around 5 or 6 am. The private Physics days run 9:00am-5:00pm. Makes sense because Media Days are usually Tuesdays or Thursdays.

I don't see this ending up like Cajun, TDK, and Dipper where pretty much Maintenance did pretty much everything. Since X-Flight is new, the trains don't need rehab like Dipper did. Since its a B&M, it will have its own operating system already made, unlike Cajun and Dipper with their Six Flags in-house programming.
I used that as an example, but the cost of flying in all the programmers (from Maryland) and manufacturer (from Europe) and putting them up in hotels for an extended period of time, etc. It might be a really small amount compared to the money they would make from ticket sales but then they have to go back and report a bigger loss this quarter which obviously would be in the best interests of the company, but Wall Street doesn't care about things like that. Considering Six Flags and has already gone through bankruptcy the credit or the stock takes a downgrade and they end up losing money off of it. Also the finance people would have to factor in what percentage of the attendance are season passholders, I bet it's a lot, and it wouldn't matter since they will come back to ride it after it opens. This isn't a normal profitable company we're talking about, it's Six Flags.
The people that run SFGAm don't get much input on the way they spend the money the park makes if they did i'm sure there would be more emphasis on getting the ride open on time.
Does it cost extra to get a spot in a private physics day? I'm wondering if the reason we didn't go on a private day last year was simply because of cost and convenience (Friday is probably more convenient to go than a Tuesday).

Yes, When the park is open Privately, That means that the sponsor bought the park out for a day.
Some sponsors that I know of:
Mcdonalds CDW Advocate Health Care (Some Company that makes equipment for hospitals....can't remember the name)

Well if you compare to Wild Eagle from Start-to-finish it shouldn't be long because the station takes the longest. Putting the actual ride up is the easy part.
Station has multiple parts, hydraulics for the gates, panels, lighting, plumbing, etc.
