The more and more I look at it, the harder it is to see something that would be worth while fit in there......I think over time we could see that entire area of the park along with camp cartoon be combined into one giant kids area minus the flat ride in part of wolfs footprint.

If one was there before, another can fit. Plus, as BP mentioned, there is the wilderness theater, a small area with trees, plus the camp carton network area. I have scaled superman into this area before and it looks like it would just fit. Superman is not even a space efficient ride. There is more room here than what is being used for X flight.

I know we already have 3 (4 if you count AE as 2) wooden roller coasters but it would easily make are park one of the best wooden coaster locations on the planet. Most theme parks only have 1 or 2 wooden roller coasters and are usually rough and lack in popularity. Viper and Eagle are really good wooden roller coasters that receive attendance like any steel roller coaster does.

This is what I see happening too. A GCI would theme the area perfectly and have an affordable price tag. I have been to plenty of parks that have 3-4 wood coasters. We lack one that is terrifying. The GCI's I have been on recently are that, and smooth.

This. A wilderness themed GCI would be absolutely perfect in Iron Wolf's spot. Blends in with the area and would have a nice outdoor theme. Add a log cabin like station and it's love.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2.

I always thought it should be named (or themed after) the Yeti (despite that it's already been done), and then the station could be underground, and it would include one station flyby underground too with the rest of the ride above ground. And then you could plant TONS of trees everywhere. Yeah, I'm just fantasizing, but it's not like it's anything extreme...

I mean, doesn't the Yeti live in the Yukon? Or, maybe the Abominable Snowman, he lives in Canada too, right? :D

They can very easily make the entrance to a ride in Iron Wolf's spot be in Yukon. It isn't that much of a stretch. Plus the station (if it is a coaster) might even be on the other side of Wolf's spot closer to the Wilderness Theater and have a longer queue.
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)

Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades

GAH, I do that ALLLL the time! Not only is IW physically close to Yukon Territory (it literally feels like it was in a separate area), it's theme also fits perfectly into a Yukon setting (think The Grey).
And then I would look at the park map and see that it was part of County Fair, make a note to myself for the future, and then I would completely forget about it because of the above reasons.

^Haha yea I guess the location is a little weird. It really had nothing to do with america and there are certainly more trees in Yukon Canada then you'd find in Smalltown, USA.

How about something like Blue Fire at Europa Park?

Would give us a good multi-looping "traditional" coaster while offering something not found at Great America.

Based on Googlemaps (I know?) a near clone could fit in Wolf's spot pretty easily. Might need some tighter turns but could work. Plus it's only 124.8ft.

FParker, If you've ridden it. Can you let me know how it rides?

Not riding it til Oct 4, wasn't built yet in 2006 when I was there last. Pretty much everything I hear about it is positive.

Now as much as I would LOVE that idea, it wont happen next year or the year after that. What I see coming to the park is flat rides and in 2014 if we're lucky I could see a euro fighter ! Or a zac spin ( I hope not) but as far as 2013 I could see ether a sky screamer or a new show.

Interesting ideas many of you have hehe ;-) Theme park is not only about Roller Coasters ;-)

1.) I think for 2013 there won't be a roller coaster, and we don't need one at this moment. After 2012 income SFGAm can invest in painting rides like Vertical Velocity is beging for one. I mean look at the teal back then and now, yuck! Superman could also get a new paint, so AE or Demon. But V2 seriously needs it, painting it wouldn't be bad, since it's little track. New paint would really show off nicely.

2.) I also think for 2013 we could get some flat rides. In Trail Blazer spot I can see a HUSS Rodeo ride, themed to bulls. Would perfectly fit into Southwest Territory. In County Fair in old Games Gallery I could see adventure dark ride where you hit targets. And with the rest of many, I think we could invest in themeing the rides. Have themeing back at Batman, fix River Rockers pound and many more.
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!

I personally think the next coaster on the chopping block will be whizzer simply due to the fact that parts are becoming harder and harder to come by. However when this happens, I wouldnt expect to see anything more than another family style roller coaster placed in its spot. Again....probably not for a few years.

great america announced a while back it was not going no where. It was going to get removed for superman UF but due to the demand of the public it was removed from the chopping block. the complaints of patrons on how rough shockwave was decided it.

On a side note great america also announced at the same time that parts are NOT hard to find for it and it is very cheap to maintain. I will go back through and see if i can find the article to substantiate my claim but i know i am right on this one.

Who wants whizzer to go... hell no its a classic and my son loves it!

Some people are saying about replacing Trailblazer, but I don't think the park even cares about replacing that ride area anyway. They rather just use it for October, and that's it.

The main coaster area I think would be the Iron Wolf area. Now, the question is how long are we going to wait until they do something with that area? However, I would think they would be thinking a small coaster whether it be a family type of coaster, a Euro Fighter, or a Zacspin.

Next year though I think that maybe we get a SkyScreamer just because they are going to so many of the parks. It just seems like it's going to spread like a disease. It's like how the Tornado waterslide is to the waterparks of Six Flags. Just wondering when and where it will hit SFGAm.

Agree on SkyScreamer for 2013. They are not expensive, adds another tower to the park, and does not take up a lot of space. My only concern is that they would use the Iron Wolf space so it is not empty as well as that is where Whirligig originally was.
I would still like to see a 200 foot ferris wheel somewhere in the park for 2013. Between losing Sky Whirl as well as the Delta Flyer, there is not a lot of arial / high vantage points like their used to be where you could take pictures. Sky Trek is fine, but it is so far in the front of the park.
Trail Blazzers had a great view of Raging Bull too, but is also gone.

id love to see another coaster but we wont for sometime. Atleast a few years. I would love to have a new stunt show at the park. I remember the years they had batman show. It was pretty damn good and gives you some downtime if you got the kids with you. I am starting to think maybe demons time could be limited. It either needs a pantjob or somethign new in its spot. Although it wouldnt feel right without a good ole looper in the park. (i hope they dont take it out). Re-Theming it and renaming it would be nice as well. I dunno what does the park really need besides a nice water ride. IM still hell bent on a good water coaster to replace yankee. It would be something unique... and themed unique from other parks. Or take out loggers run and yankee and put in dueling water coasters! now that would be hot.

Of course what i want and what we get are two different things.

my vote is a water coaster :) or a new stunt show.

I would love for a Manta style family coaster to come to Iron Wolf's spot. I'm talking about the Manta at Sea World San Deigo. If you haven't seen the updates for it recently, it looks amazing and I don't see it taking up more room than Iron Wolf. A small GCI would be nice too, as I love Evel Knievel, they did a great job on it.

But I really don't see SFGAm adding anything outside of a new flat ride, or a new water slide to the water park.

I can definitely see X-Flight as the next modern-day clone for the chain if all goes well.

Considering the future.....

I've also read on other forums about the ride rotation program is potentially appear again and that the major parks (SFMM, SFGAdv, SFGAm, SFOG) have been asked to put a coaster on the list. The talk is that Bizarro is the choice for GADv but the park wanted to put S:UF on the list until they were told no because GAm had already chosen their Superman and they didn't want two of the same ride on the list. Going off that logic, I don't know if SFMM would be able to put Scream! on the list either (depending on if this information is accurate or not).

Obviously, we know the area that needs to be developed (most likely), the question is....2013? Or beyond?

Everything I've head is pretty much the exact opposite of that. From what I've read,
- Gram, MM and DK already gave up their coasters to the program
- SFGADv will remove Bizzaro after the 2012 season
- Every park was asked to decide a coaster they would potentially give up, not just the major ones.

So I'm just wondering where you're reading from, since there seems to be conflicting rumors.

So would I. But like I said before, it's just too early to tell what will happen.

What Death By Dinn said is correct, every park has to give up a coaster to potentially be re-located. Now, I'm not sure if that was a one time thing or anually, because I hear V2 is on its way out soon.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2.
