Basically, it's by Southwest Territory Ampitheater which won't have a show because of Susan is in Pictorium. I was thinking on the way into Southwest Territory (the way to Hurricane Harbor), but it's not there.

I don't think this will happen again. The reason why is because of Whizzer being in that area, and they don't want to frighten kids too much to get to it. And also, they are trying to make a scare-free area all the way to Wiggle's World. In a way though, I think the other side of the park to me would be smarter to have scare-free zone considering that you have so many flats on the other side of the park for kids, and the toddler kids are going to be gone anyway at night, and aren't going to go to Wiggle's World for the most part. I rather see County Fair have stuff instead. On the other side of the park, you have Ragin Cajun, Whirligig, Dark Knight, Rue Le Dodge, Condor, Big Easy Balloons, Jesters, and East River Crawler that are more kid centric rides that would still come at night compared to the toddler's that would leave at night.

I can see why they are doing it this way now. They have haunted areas to get you towards Necropolis, and the other Haunted House in Southwest Territory. If they put more Haunted stuff in County Fair which they have room by the games, people would be running away from the games too much, and that wouldn't be good for business.

I understand completely about the families and stuff and that they bring the money to the park (yada yada yada) but dude...it's FRIGHT FEST...Why do they have to make the whole park besides Necro a scare-free zone? It's stupid. It's supposed to be SCARY! Parents know this, don't bring your kid.
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!

I agree that it was the best place for it - Hometown.

speaking of Area 51 in Southwest, anybody think theres a chance that the small area 51 "walk through" will be in the amputheater, I guess it might make sence that is if they are even doing those walk throughs.
Aside from that Im pretty excited for frightfest this year. Decorations dont look half bad from the facebook pics. But ill be there October 2nd.
God bless NIU

Don't count your chickens folks. Many of the presumptions being made in this thread will be proved wrong once they announce this years Fright Fest Line-up. Just wait 'til you see what they have in store...

In case no one has noticed, FF has gotten less and less scary each year. The park has been aiming for a more family friendly event. Hence the family by day, fright by night. Too many guest relations complaints about their child being scared. One can raise the point of why bring your child to a scary event but some do and are shocked when their child is peeing themselves because they got frightened. Obviously the park isnt interested in putting on a successful Halloween event, the likes of HHN (otherwise they wouldnt be bankrupt, the reason they let JPM go, to save money they dont have). I honestly think the park should go the same manner, do the fam friendly thing til a certain time, shut down for a few, and reopen to a strictly 18+ crowd. It just makes more sense. Honestly, how scary is Leatherface chasing you with a chainsaw at 3pm on a nice, sunny Saturday afternoon? Who has been through one of the houses during the day, when you miss half of the scares because you are sunblind, and it takes 10 minutes for your eyes to adjust? Oh, and heres a clue for ya. Vampires, traditionally, should not be out during the day (they are creatures of the NIGHT, sunlight+vamp=ash). Thanks twilight for making shimmering sad excuses for vamps able to walk around during the day. And dont werewolves change under a full moon, not the direct sun overhead? Or the trolls. That is a group who completely changes when the sun goes down. They are all dumb and entertaining during the day, taking pictures, shaking hands, playing games, but when the sun goes down, they are a completely different creature. Ever tried to get one to take a picture with one when its dark out? It doesnt happen. Why? because they are too busy doing what they are paid to do, and thats scaring the hell outta people. How many times do you hear during the day some little turd harassing a character with "youre not scary"? Thanks for pointing out the obvious, its daylight stupid. If families want a nice happy Halloween event, Lambs Farm is right down the road. Give me my scary back. Dont make me suffer and waste the obscene amounts of money I spend at the gate on something called FRIGHT FEST when the main word in that phrase is missing, because a bunch of stupid parents are dumb enought to take their 5 year old thru a haunted house, and cant understand why the kid is scared. Get a clue, dont come out with your child if you dont want them scared, and lemme get my moneys worth. Yeah, I cant wait to see what they have in store. Maybe some nice fluffy bunnies handing out candy, the Wiggles singing a brand new Halloween song, or wait, I know, Bugs Bunny dressed up as Dracula. Hmmmmmmm, im shaking with anticipa.....anticipa.....anticipation. YAY! Only a week til Fail Fest begins. Glad I have a season pass, so I can leave after being there 15 minutes and being disappointed, and not wasting any money on it. Thanks for at least making my summer worth the cost of the pass.

Now let the SUPERFANS, defenders of all that is Great America, start ripping me apart because I spoke more than the truth. Obviously they have more knowledge than me, a mere patron with an opinion. Defend away oh mighty know it alls. You are wise and knowledgable on everything SFGA. Convert me oh wise and knowing ones. Tell me where my beliefs are wrong. Please. Open my eyes, so I may be as blind and faithful as thy. I beg thee.

Yes Horror Nights is a better event, it's also $75 for a ticket and Universal Annual Passes are not valid....and in the largest international tourism market in the world, so how is that even a fair comparison when SF season passes are like $70 for the entire SEASON including Fright Fest admission?

I paid like $130 for an Annual Pass and thats with a Florida Resident discount, with blackout dates, does not include parking, and (like all AP options at UO) does not include Horror Nights, and this is before they raised the prices for Harry Potter's opening.

I dont think you understand what I said. Use HHN as a basis for your event. Im not saying to BE HHN, something SFGA could only dream to be as successful as. I said have fam during the day, shut down for a bit and reopen to 18+, LIKE HHN. I said nothing about BEING HHN. Read and comprehend before you start tossing stats. Fright Fest has sucked for too long. Time to get into the 21st century and start giving what the people want, which obviously hasnt been given, prior posts on here proving it. Give the Fright that the Fright Fest name eludes to.

As expensive as tix for HHN may be, I have never heard anyone complain, myself included, that they didnt get thier moneys worth, something that is constantly being heard about Fright Fest. Nuff said.
