I'm actually a little sad. I mean this has been operating my whole life and then another 6 years. Still i'm convinced that SFGAm and Advil were in cahoots with each other.
It is sad to see Iron Wolf go. I mean the ride was rough and I didn't enjoy riding it but I still rode it just because it was a roller coaster. It is sad to see it go. It has been a part of this park for many years and now it is gone. RIP Iron Wolf!
^The ride graveyard is located right next to the County Fair Games and Revolution. I was there Saturday to go and pay my respects to all the wonderful rides that have been lost over the years .
Only one really worth lighting a candle for would be Deja Vu. Even though it is still alive. Shockwave, PowerDive, Cajun Cliffhanger and Splash Water Falls could use a tear too.

I'm a little surprised Sky Whirl didn't make your list... I miss that one a lot, more so for how cool it looked in the skyline!
Iron Wold heading out of town. Taken heading about 10 miles South of SFGAm. I am surprised that they are n to using the tollway, unless it is being stripped and repainted locally.
I was going to lunch just after 11:30am in Libertyville and had to wait @ milwaukee avenue, just north of the train tracks to go onto Milwaukee Avenue. Then I did a double take when I saw two trucks (only got shot of one) heading South on Milwaukee Ave. It took a few minutes to catch up to this truck and then just grabbed my camera ad snapped the shot through the front windshield and had to shoot into the sun, so the picture was muted color, low contrast. I was hoping he would get stopped for a red light so I could zoom in on the tag on the back of the coaster track. I got a similar shot when DejaVu was leaving years ago too...helps to live close to the park too. I did notice on Facebook they (SF) has some additional track pictures being loaded onto trucks (but it is the pieces where it looked like they could have added a trim break (just before the Corkscrew drop), so they are moving fast now is the removal...Loop should be gone early next week based on the current pace.
Reminds me of when DejaVu was being moved to Idaho. During a job fair (my job was to stand outside and tell people to go around the corner to apply for a job) I stood there and watched them load a piece of DejaVu track onto a truck. Took those lazy guys literally all day to move 1 piece of track from the ground onto the back of the truck. Considering Wolf is being moved to a Six Flags park maybe they will have a bit more sense of urgency, if I remember right Aftershock didn't even open until July.
Wow great shot man! Im sad to see it just laying in the field, but can't wait to see it with a brand new paint job lookin BADA**

Best 2011 Moment: "I lost my phone on Raging Bull!" "WELL I LOST A SOCK!!!" Best 2012 Moment: "No good! DREAM ON!" Best 2013 Moment: "I came here for Auntie Anne's pretzels and coasters......in that order!"

Tollway, are you kidding? All those pieces needing individual trucks are going to rack up the toll costs. They can't afford that; it's on;y Six Flags.

Thats not even really a point either seeing as 41 is just East of the park and has a higher speed limit and far less stops than Milwaukee. Only thing I can think of is that they were heading toward Lake Cook to hop onto 53 which turns into 290 etc etc. Otherwise, who knows?

Believe me, in the cost of shipping this thing (each truck must cost thousands) adding 80 bucks for tolls the whole way won't change much.

I should really use sarcasm tags. I was just making a joke about the tolls around here.
Thanks for the update! Do you think they may keep the station in its place or remove that with the ride? Not saying they need to keep it it's just sometimes they do stuff like that if they want to focus on other things once the ride track is gone.
