Put up a shop or two. Some many ideas. All very cheap.
I think they least they could do is give you a new water ride, which they are. Fancy that.
Why do we fall, Master Bruce?
So we can learn to pick ourselves up.
I really enjoyed the fact that the SFGAm reps at first stated that a SF parking pass bought at SFGAm would NOT be valid at other SF parks. The crowd had to correct the SFGAm reps after they provided this false information. Considering PR folks at the park usually last around a year or so, I guess I shouldn't be surprised they don't know these important things.
^^^Lol oh and they aren't giving me a water ride they are giving families a inexpensive water gun soaker ride they have ignored me and the rest of the people my age for years.
The people that want a decent ride for anyone no coming inside with a family or those that have been going back year after year after additions like Raging Bull and V2 were announced have been ignored. I get it this is 2009 not 1999 and money doesn't grow on trees. I just wouldn't put myself into the category of people that should be happy with getting what we are because we could get nothing. Since I would prefer waiting for something more adventurous then get something for the sake of getting something so that "families" have reason to come to the park this year.
This "we" thing is really bugging me. "We" need to understand Six Flags isnt there to do everything its fans tell them to, its a publicly traded company thats run on investment and unless your a major shareholder I dont think "we" applies to any of us. "We" are just guests of parks, being a regular visitor doesnt give anyone the right to say "we deserve more," in my opinion at least.
It is what it is, your probably still going to get a season pass either way.
it went to Q&A. Where the pictorium show was dragged out of her, to resounding disapproval. After it was asked of her about the locker policy she came clean on that to resounding disapproval.
I probably wouldnt say anything either if I knew it was going to have "resounding dissaproval."
I think the plans for this year are good, but eventually, I am hoping they clean up the park. I am talking replacing various fences, repaving, maybe adding more stone walkways like in Southwest Territory.
The park is getting more and more unappealing. The area where you walk under demon is dead, and it looks bad at the same time. I think if the park just sat back for one more year, and fixed up the park, it would be a lot better. Like, more benches, all of those goodies.
Also, in my opinion, the SWF area should remain a park. You can have walkways going over GAR, and into the park. Just grass, trees, and picnic benches. Every theme park should have a park.
Family rides are built and designed for the whole family. They are rides where almost every member of the family can ride together and ultimately have a fun time, together. The Dark Knight Coaster and the soon to open Buccaneer Battle capitalize on this concept. Mom, Dad, teenager Billy, and little sister Sally are all able to go on these rides. They don't have to split up. This is what families are looking more and more for. If you don't think these rides are designed for you, you're wrong. You need to let your guard down, and just have a good time. The next high thrill will come as soon as the park becomes even more well-rounded as far as rides go. And don't say "Shapiro said No More Goliaths!!!" because hell, they've already even added a Goliath last season and heck, they used to think Mr. Six was creepy!
I would much perfer that this year the park wouldnt have added the water ride that they did. The money could have been better spent sprucing up the park with painting/maintence(LIKE ACTUALLY HAVING ALL RIDES OPEN ON OPENING DAY) ETC.
And the money saved by doing this put away for a much better ride in the future, and not a ride that wont be is use for good portions of the operating season.
^^That Goliath was an old attraction from another park (a Batman the Ride). That park was Six Flags New Orleans. For Goliath, he is referring to big expensive attractions like hypers. So, far I don't think a park has gotten a B&M even besides Tatsu, and Goliath at SFOG. Those were rides under the old management. It's been Tony Hawks, Dark Knights, smaller wooden coasters (like SFStL), and so on.
Did they say anything about the antique cars not running this year? I wouldn't be surprised if they take out another flat ride like Triple Play, Hometown Fun Machine, Jester's Wild Ride, The Orbit, and so on.

^ Regarding any rumors about Great America Raceway and Yankee Clipper, nothing was said about them by the park, and no one asked. However, the park did have one slide that showed the 2009 park map in which Yankee Clipper and Great America Raceway were definitely present.

You have to remember it's usually not 75 degrees and sunny in April.

Seriously guys if Clipper or Raceway was out either this season or whenever in the future they would announce something like that MONTHS earlier and usually not at NCC. Clipper still gets used heavily in the peak summer months and since they have no clue how easy it is to replace SWF why would they take out GAR to leave even more useless space barren?

That's why Cargo Pants are invented.

Haha, you win. I always wonder why people brought more then wallet type item, car keys and maybe a camera. Other then Disney, which allows backpacks on most rides, I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would bring one in.

Well there are swimsuits for HH, sunblock, maybe your own towel......not like it's a beach. lol
Plus, girls JUST HAVE to bring there sunglasses, big *** purse, etc.
How annoying, but hey, great way to get money from them.
"I've been told that some part of every wish will be heard but lately I lost sight of the truth in those words."
Fill that empty spot with water put a fountain in the middle get some bumper boats or swan boats or that big hamster ball and charge $5 for a 10 minute ride around that pooland then when they want to put something new in there empty it again and put a new attraction in there. Although a park with nice theming would be nice in that area. The lockers will PO a lot of guests this year.
This is just like last season. You guys complaining about the damn lockers. Get over it. I do not see the point for you guys to get so mad about them. All you guys need to bring with you to the park is your car keys at the most. Or a camera to keep your wonderful memories at a park you don't like for some reason or another. You don't like the park food so why would you need a wallet. Not only that but the people who bring all their stuff with them slow down re-entry and entry lines at the front gate any ways. I know that when I go to the best park around, I usually go with a group. In that group there is at least one to two people that don't go on every ride. Those people are you holders for the ride.
I think this topic is already chatted about to death. Six Flags Great America is not going to listen to you and stop the lockers. If you don't like the lockers don't bring everything you own to an amusement park!!
You should ALWAYS have your wallet with you...I.D., license, money, etc. Everything you need to bring because you don't want to run back to the car should fit in a pocket even if it is not zipped up. Fanny packs (sp?) are good too and in the early/later part of the season a light jacket or coat that has pockets INSIDE work good too. Don't buy any gifts till you are about to leave. Even the sports bottles.
