With these economic times it is good news for fans of certain rides that would have been removed already if the company could afford bigger and better rides. Not to mention newer. Whew. I don't care for the lime green color pallet but good to know YC is safe...for now anyway.

Does anyone know why they want to have it SBNO for the 2009 season. I really couldn't see why. It is in much better shape than Logger's Run.
This might sound stupid and impossible but what if during FF, they stopped Sky Trek Tower at the top for a few minutes and made it seem like it was under attack (By aliens if you want to stick to the Area 51 theme) It'd make kind of a cool ride sensation.

Yankee has not been confirmed by anyone to not be operating at all next season. It may be down especially early on but the park more than likely will have it up and running in the peak summer months.
They're not gunna have it SBNO, he was just joking.
I don't think they're going to remove any other water rides. They could build something over roaring rapids for sure, but they probably wouldn't take advantage of that.

From what I heard, it did come from some Rep because the word had to come from somewhere. And no, it wasn't the damn lemon chill guy! It came along the lines of the SAME buzz of the early opening, and that IS true.
^ That would never happen in a million years. They could just build the "larger Intamin or B&M" in SWF's spot to begin with. Moving a large coaster is a very big investment, and moving a large coaster within the same park would have no return on investment.
They wouldn't spend all that money to move a huge coaster like that down the midway. Iron Wolf is built into the ground, so it would cost a lot to move it anywhere in comparison to a portable coaster like a galaxi or anything like that.
Any design is possible in the spot of SWF. Unfortunately Six Flags is more about family coasters than big/ intense coasters, so I'm pretty sure that nothing too big will go there (no dive machine). They could fit a woodie there, but I really don't think they would do that, because in the GP's eyes it's just another viper or american eagle. You never know though. There's no right or wrong move for the park to make with adding new rides, it's just whatever they decide to do.
I just hope the news that Magic Mountain will get a coaster 2009 & 2010 does not mean we won't get one until after that. OMG they seriously do not need a new coaster every year. Pretty soon they will need to get these rides on top of the hills and mountains. Unless, of course, they plan on removing a ride in the near future...cough...deja vu...cough

Before Terminator, the last coaster they built (Tatsu) is built onto the side of the mountain.
Going back on topic, I've never rode Yankee Clipper, and would be disappointed to see it removed. I've always had a desire to ride it, I've just never really got around to it. It seems like it always has a pretty decent line though...
^It usually does when it's open (Which happens to be on hot, sunny days) You should wait it out though. Fun ride even though you get less wet then the other two water rides.

If anything Yankee Clipper is in much better shape and somehow all the times I've been on it (50+) I swear I had more fun than Logger's. They are both old gems (30 years old) but they never really get old. The flumes are safe for that the park can't afford to have just one water ride. The lines for Roaring Rapids are bad enough as it is. They would be AT LEAST 1-2 hours. Ouch.
That's because you can be 5 or 95 and have fun on Roaring Rapids. It would be fun to just go on Rapids for one whole day. I could do it. I don't care for sitting with a bunch of strangers but it is fun I just wish the park would use ALL rafts. 4-5 were sitting out unused this summer why not just put them away if you aren't going to use them.
