As far as a five year plan for demon...not from what I've heard. But they do refurb the trains in a rotating fasion. Obviously it was the red train this year as there was all the hullaballoo at the beginning of the season about it.
I'd love to see a return to the theme, and a more cohesive story, which I could actually see happening pending the success of Dark Knight. But I think that until management sees how Dark Knight directly affects attendance, then we may see some of those "theming" enhancements we've all wanted to see for some time.

Captain, don't shake the passengers up too much this time! Just giving them their money's worth!
rcoaster wrote:just to throw something out there with demon i read at a very very reliable source (screamscape)...... apparently demon is on a 3-5 year plan on getting renovated and stuff, just like shockwave is at SFoT. I wonder how they can change the ride.... that is, if they do it! Just something to throw out here
How MUCH renovation?

^That statement is BS. What screamscape is hyping is that over 3-5 years, Demon will get the basic renovations of all rides. New paint and what not and that happens almost everyear. Every year, all rides get some renovation. Dont get your panties in a bundle, demon will be the same for a while.
While Screamscape is mostly bull, they have a tendancy to be spot on occasionally. I stress occasionally. But I would still never use it as a primary source. If you read my post at the top of the page, You'll know my veiws on this already though.

On a steel coaster, retracking could be the actual replacement of track with new track. While it may not change the layout (reprofiling), a given section of track is newer then the rest of the ride. However, with the description that I just gave, this would be better described as track replacement.
If you could "retrack" a steel coaster, I would think you would just "fix" a piece of track in place (replace a weld, or a bent, etc), but keep the full track section as it is.
If my memory is correct, Shockwave had some track replaced at least once (the part right at the corner before the mid-course break). Demon also got some replacement track from Shockwave (the part under the waterfall).
So, the question then becomes this: Would that be a replacement of track, or a retracking of track?
I feel like the demon has run it's age I would love though if they completly renovated it. I think it would be a nice idea. Yet I aso agree that renovations are done every year and they are usually very minor. Most renovations are just replace certain parts or re paininting another color. Let's be real six flags wont spend that much money to really renovate the demon too much.
I think we need another color besides orange, red, and brown. If you look at our skyline it is very boring. I think the Demon should be repainted to blue, aqua or green...something to replace what we lost with dejavu. Im not saying this because I miss dejavu. But because all of the coaster are pretty much the same, "dirty", colors. Dejavu, was the one good looking coasters in out skyline in my opinion.
I agree^ A skyline with darker colored rides never look to good but with kore brighter colors. I know it's called the DEMON but at least have a better darker color other than black. Like a darker/royal blue or something. Or make the track red with black supports and rails. That would be better alled Red Demon though.
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)
Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades
Please dear god, keep demon black...It would look endlessly terrible in any other color.
The ride that I think needs to be painted most is getting painted. I won't say what because I'm honestly not sure if it's been talked about, and if it hasn't they'll talk about it at NCC probably.
The one thing that demons needs is more theming. It could be one of the greatest rides in the park if they spend some money on the story of the ride, they didn't even bother playing the song again this year, and I know there was a reason but come on. I really think that in the years after Dark Knight we shouldn't get anything new, but rather improve the story of the park. It's a park celebrating America, but no one ever remembers that.

I think they should change the color I would also prefer a dark color. Something other than black though like maroon or a midnight blue, maybe like others said the deja vu green would be nice on the demon that would be a hell of a change. I think the colors on iron wolf should be updated also we need a new stand up or floorless anyway
Floorless coaster rumors are so 03 . Sorry dude, but have you been on any of them? The only good floorless coaster ive been on is Dominator, the raised seats effect just makes the ride less intense and less re-rideable. I much prefer the regular B&M sitdown coasters to floorless. And SFGAm's not getting a floorless anyway, so stop worrying about it.
Demon was fully painted in 2004, other rides will get priority to it. Cosmetic improvements have been made to the ride in recent years and the trains are on rehab schedules.
I actually really like floorlesses, but that's not the point. And SFGAm sure as hell doesn't "need" one. What the park needs is mucho improvement in their day to day operations. They are already amazing when it comes to other Six Flags park, but on a genuine customer service level, they're right down there with the local greasy spoon compared to a high end restaurant....I really hope that makes sense, I was trying really hard not to compare them to Disney Again.

Based on the recnt posts you've just made, I must say you're one of the people on here that has the right idea. Come on! Dark blue or green? You can't do that!!!!!! It's the "Demon" for god's sake. Honestly, the only ride that needs more paint is obviously the eagle but it sounds like they're taking care of that right now. Also, if they could time the demon's first tunnel better, you could actually HEAR the sounds if you're in front of the back row. That's one thing California's Demon has that we need. If they were going to make a major paint change to demon, I'd only be happy with red rails maybe.
