That explains everything
I hope it falls over

Very nice! Although it looks strange driving southbound it looks awesome driving north. I hope they fix and paint the part directly under the screen though because it looks like it was damaged. Though definitley a big improvement on the last one.

Woo I'm not the only one with this exact thought running through my head.
You are entitled to your own opinion... My opinion is you are all whining about something cause there is nothing else to whine about.. Get over it. Its a sign. It looks better than it did. I’m sure they are going to fix the base where its messed up and paint it. Just get over it!
I agree with Fparker. Take the angle out of the screen, or angle the top of the sign and it would be fine in my opinion. Whoever made the decision to angle that screen really screwed up.
Oh well, though like said above it's just a sign. The old one wasn't the greatest either.
I drove past the park today and was THRILLED to see the new sign in place! It is a MAJOR improvement over the old one, which had worn out its welcome many years ago when they had to illuminate it with ground-level spotlights to make it viewable at night! The video screens are angled to give passing traffic a better view of the display. If wind didn't take down the old one, it won't take down the new one, either, unless it is struck by a tornado. They will definitely be painting the sign pylon when the weather allows. This is a far better advertisement for our home park, and I can hardly wait to see it operating! Thank you to the park for taking care of this!!!!!
We should all remember to be thankful to have a world-class theme park like Six Flags Great America here in our local area!
The only reason why they used the old post was because of Gurnee's current sign law which only allows a sign of up to like 125 sq. ft. if I remember right (Likely not.) The old sign was I think they said 1200 sq. ft. and this new one is 900 sq. ft. They considered this a "grandfathered" in because they are using the same pole, so therefore it is the same sign.
When I drove by yesterday the LED portion of the sign was turned on, and even in heavy fog it is very clear and easy to read. The angle makes it so you don't have to look at the sign, you can keep your attention on the road and still be able to read it.
^Which is a smart move angling the sign. Unlike the Allstate arena LCD display which isn't angled and you have to take your eyes off the road even more to read it.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Now, I don't mind that Screamscape "borrowed" the picture I took, in fact, I'm glad that they did. However, I just wanted to point out where the picture came from, and who took it.
If you look at my post over at GreatAmericaParks.com
