The reason they chose ours to go there is because SFGAm's Trioka was in the best condition out of all of them in the chain because it was just refurb'd. So, they sent ours there because SFAW's wont be ready in time, so they are sending that one here to get refurb'd and reinstalled for late 2006 or 2007 season, depending on when it is finished.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
So, we are in a sense getting SFAW's Triple Play as our new Triple Play. Are they going to point to what colors it was before or not. They one at SFAW looks awful (color scheme). I want my red arm back.

That sucks. I Loved Triple Play. That was the ride we rode whenever we were waiting for a show. Or after we got our passes processed! Well I mean they mail them now, but before they did that. Well I can't wait for it to be back. I wonder if during the time its gone if they will put something there. An outdoor show? Or probably just another slew of food stands? Who knows. But I can't wait fori t to come back.

Danhockey04 wrote:No, we should have the same arms as the ones we had before, they just needed the center piece. The arms should still be at SFGAm.
I sure hope you're right because that AW one is hideous looking.
Red, blue, and bright green??? leftover paint?
Also, the centerpiece of the AW one is not nearly as big as ours.
Are you sure it has all of the same functions?
It probably doesn't have lighting controllers.

Ahh the rain drop, the perfect aerodynamic shape. It is actually formed by the air around it.

Yep, every Troika that's ever come from huss has been made off the same set of prints, only differences would be themeing, or Trailer mount vs Ground Mount, and you'd find certain programming variances especially with SFGAm's as SFGAm has an in house programmer (Roman I believe is his name)

Do you ever worry that you're head might explode from knowing too much? Well, it helps out a lot on this site so, all I'm saying is don't learn so much that you're explodes and then you can't answer any of our questions.
i'm rocking the suburbs, just like quiet riot did...
I see differences between Triple Play and Troika, Troika, Troika at Cedar Point. SFOT, in my opinion is getting "SFGAm's" type without lights. When I rode, CP's, it felt differently.
I wonder which version your park is getting and thus what Astroworlds was. I see a big difference in Cedar Points, and Triple Play at SFGAm. The arms are slanted differently, and in my opinion it matters. I barely cared for CP, while I really, really like SFGAm's.
CP (Look at the orange sets of cars) They are slanted quite a bit more than SFGAm. The ground is not even flat, but rather "hilly".

The cars may be a different design, but it operates the same way with the same type of arms it attaches to. The central hub of the ride is also the same on all of them, the cars are just different designs, that is really the only diffence.

At Cedar Point, the arms were tilted more. I felt a difference between the two. Maybe, it has to do with the cars, and not how the arms are??? I can't see how I could like Triple Play at SFGAm, and not care for Troika at CP. If they were same, I would like them the same. It's not even colors either.

^Even if what you said is all true, which I do believe that they seem like different experiences, it doesn't matter. The only piece we are getting replaced has nothing to do with the ride experience so it won't be that big of a deal. Just count on Triple Play becoming this year's version of the 2002 Deja Vu.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter

Triple Play is the best looking trioka I've ever seen. I can't wait until they get the arms(or legs?) on crazy legs so I can put my mind at ease. I know that it would not be economical for them to send the arms all the way to Texas(so they would probably just use the AW ones), but I want to know for sure.

Since you brought this back up, it sounds as if Triple will not operate at all during the 2006 season because SFOT is going to be sending the center piece back to SFGAm and they will put the new rehab'd one, which wont be ready till mid to late season, into their park. This happening is very high, but there might be slight changes, and that is what I hope happens too.

You think they would have changed the color scheme of the way they got. They thing looks ugly. It sure took them awhile to get them that far. They aren't even done. They had too many problems with the piece that broke. I bet you that they are going to keep that centerpiece, and SFGAm is going to get a new one. It wouldn't make sense to send that centerpiece all the way back here, and dismantle that ride even though they do every season (I think.).
When they refurbished Triple Play over here, it wasn't open till I think July, and it is probably going to be worse this year. I wonder how much that base costs?? They have $300,000 laying around somewhere, don't they? It's an emergency. We want our Triple Play back!!
When rides aren't open, or just sitting there as useless something or another, that is when people get mad. They think that the park is turning into a garbage dump. Condor didn't open till very late last year, and they had some sort of celebration like it was a brand new ride. Triple Play has an excuse now, and no one who goes to the park will understand that the base was sent to SFOT except us.
I guess the last treatment stuff starts to kill me once and awhile. The park figures that they don't need to have all the rides actually open due to a) staffing and b) the season is not that packed yet. An old existing ride at SFOG called MindBender was just getting new brakes last year when the park eventually opened.
Time and time again people will understand that the NEW attractions will not open right when the season opens. So, they figure to go to the park later on in the season. By summer especially in July, and August the park is booming. It's a) summer and b) the new rides are open finally.
triple play is staying at sfgam but some of its parts were shipped to the texas park because theirs broke. so everybody can stop going back and fourth on this. tripple play will not be running in 06 but will return in 07
