Just to get it out of the way just forget about everything I said in the topic before.
Yea the park is based on historic like themes so a space/ future section, urban, and a movie world wouldnt fit. I still like the Confederate/southern section. I love Cedar Points Frontiertown so maybe something similar to that would be awesome.
What about a tropical Floridan themed area where SSA and Sky Trek stand? You could give SSA a Cape Caneveral sort-of theme, give the go-karts theming with stands a la TTD and make it like the Daytona 500 (or just scrap the karts and put an S&S Thrust Air or Intamin Rocket in with the same theme), then add a Zamperla Hawk with a beach theme like Hammerhead at SFMW in front of the Pictorium, and in the middle... giant field of built-into-the-ground jumping fountains!
Hate to break it to you, bud, but that topic's about how much land SFGAm has to work with in the future. This is about ideas for a new themed area. Two completely different topics. So your link to another thread is pointless.
The Florida theme to me would only work if somehow you had a hostorical link to it. Also I dont think it would work if you had an area that mixed historical with tropical. Im not talking about something like the association with Vasco de Gama or whoever discovering florida.
A racing themed area. Ya know, a race track. Like The indy 500? They could host the professional go kart races in a NEW go kart track. Have a Shuttle Loop called Quarter Mile Fly. And a custom LIM coaster called NASCAR Thunder.
That sounds pretty cool. The problem is that it isnt a major historical like thing. Take this for example. I guess a war section could work because it is a big part of our history. You could make quite a few themes out of that.
It doesn't really have to be historical, it just has to be something American. Nascar is an American sport. I wouldn't care for the War theming because it would bring up bad memories. Wars are not joyful, but rather sad to see so many people leave this earth.
For the Florida theme, I don't think they would do this anytime soon because SF is in competition with a couple major parks in Florida. People might think, "I would love to go there." They would probably lose business this way.

SFGAm is in competition with parks over 1,000 miles away? I don't think that would really have any effect on attendance. People already go to Florida more than SFGAm to begin with. Besides, I don't think our Mardi Gras section gave SFNO a boost in attendance, so why would something like a Florida section inspire people to suddenly leave the park and hightail it to Orlando?
Yes, it is. No matter what SF's park your at, US, WDW, and CP are some of SF's big competition. I wouldn't expect them to put up an Ohio area either. However, I am not shocked that StL has an Illinois area. People get influenced by certain things in life. For instance, let's take in account shopping. I hate shopping, but it's the best example.
People look at clothes, games (so on), and want to buy these items right away. Why, you ask? The reason is because people have to have things right away. It fulfills them in a way that they couldn't believe. After awhile it's get "tired." This would especially to the people that go there a lot. Seeing Florida in a sometimes cooler climate (Chicago), would make people say "I have to go there."
And about the superhero area, (I'm sorry I know this came up awhile ago) it would've been cool if they painted V2 Superman colors and call that Superman something. I know that have another "V2" somewhere else where they have it as a Superman ride. This way you had BTR across from Superman. Now, it can't be done because we have SUF and Mardi Gras in between the two.

Dude seriously......The themes have to be about America, or else our title will be changed from Theme Park to Amusment Park. Why do you think Wintrode did not want a Gotham City in our park?
A theme park must have a centralized theme or else it is considered an Amusment Park. Common theme Parks are:
Six Flags Great America-Themed after America
Universal Island's of Adventure-Escape from the ordinary
Disneyney Magic Kingdom-Themed after Disney Movies, and a magical world Walt Invisioned.
Batman is very American. I didn't know that Gotham City was set in Asia. It looks more like New York to me. We already have a Batman and a Superman ride. Why does SFGAm have both these rides named after superheros? Carousel Plaza isn't an "America" theme. I think we wouldn't have a cartoon network area either because it's not "American." I know it won't be done, but America is full of many things besides cities and suburbs like Nascar as someone said before.
Lastly, I want to say that when non-theme park enthusiasts people go to the park, do they really care about the areas as much as we do? I was at SFOG this year and I can tell you that Gotham City was the only theme area I remember. So, if I don't remember the theme areas, how do people that don't go to the amusement parks as much as you and I going to remember.
Without looking at the map for StL, I remember DC Comics, Backlot (because it wasn't too good), and some Robin hood area. For SFGAm, I'm sure that the most notable areas for people are SWT, and Mardi Gras. Honestly, I go there quite a bit, and I even had to look at the names of the Batman and Logger's Run areas.

Well odviously you do not know Great America then. Ever ead the dedication plaque to Columbia Coursel before? It is dedicated to a lost era of Amusment Parks in the Golden Age in the U.S.A.

Old South doesn't really fit into a park that was part of the Union during the Civil War...you don't see any Confederate flags flying around here, do you?
Do you all think that a movie world will be good to the park. Old hollywood with current movie rides. I think it will fit well because SFGA is more historic and thats what is bad because its harder to make it fit in.

It wasn't my idea but it could be nicely themed thats the point that I was trying to get around. It would go with the park theme though the Old South feel was part of America back in the Cival War era.
And if you ask me being part of the union doesn't make a difference it just shows that America is once again uniteow d and it is ok to shoff some history even if it wasn't aggred upon what the Old South stood for back then. I also didn't recall SFOG having confederate flags flying around but I may be wrong.
i know! we can take rajun cajun, batman, and v2 and just name them yellow 1,2, and 3! then just call that general area yellow. i mean yellow is very american... JUST KIDDING

I know what you mean... I just meant we don't have the Confederate feel that some parts of the South still hold strong today (I'm sure SFOG doesn't have Confederate flags)
