Strange. Schwarzkopf coasters must have problems with stations in the rain. I noticed on Wildcat at Cedar Point that after the rain, the cars would stop at different points in the unload station. Not just a few feet apart from the last one, but yards. I've also heard of the other Whizzer once crashing due to a brake failure. I'm not sure if it's true, but if it is, then it sounds like Schwarzkopf had problems with braking.

Yes, it doesn't have the crowds like back in the 80's, but it still has some good crowds. On my past visits the line has been all of the way to the entrance.
GAmRCFreak- Shockwave wasnt a twin. It was cloned to make the GASM but that coaster was b it higher. Viper at SFMM was a modified version. I really dont care if any of our rides are clones. Some of the best rides are clones. I really do hope that rides are added and not taken away to add a new one. Put it in a parking lot for all I care. Theres too much parking anyway.
GASM's loop-the-loops also both travel in the same direction, as shockwave's went one and then to the other. This gave GASM a little bit more space to go into the MCBR. They tried to cut down on the roughness of it, and it worked, but not as well as Viper.I consider the 3 arrow megaloopers twins because even though they are not identical, they are very similiar. Just like Goliath and Titan are twins and not clones. It's just symantecs.
you can't believe it - you didn't mean it
but they saw you do it and they know your name
Sad to say but whizzer might go next. Not eagle though, it is an important part of great america.
Rctfan: More people seem to say that Whizzer is important because it is the only coaster like it lfet operational, and it has been in the park since it opened. So in my opinion I think Whizzer is a more important part of GAm.
Of those listed, the Whizzer would be the one to go, in my opinion. I saw it get stuck at the top of the chain-lift on Saturday. The coaster is 27 years old, so maybe it's time to put it to rest. I could never see Iron Wolf or Batman removed. IW is the very first B&M coaster in the world and Batman was the first of its kind in the world as well. I would be shocked if the Eagle was torn down. It's such an important part of the Great America skyline, and it's still a great ride after all these years.
Doesn't matter really, Z-force was the first and only kind of its type , and it was removed. Plus Shock Wave made up a HUGE portion of the sky line, and it was removed as well.

I agree 100%. in my opinion AE isnt going anywhere for a long time. About IMS...I dont think thats going soon.
IMS isn't a popular "coaster" and it isn't open all the time. Also, they have other water type rides, and this ties up space for a nice coaster. I say it goes! But, I could also be an idiot because I've only been to the park a few times.

Z-Force wasn't really removed, it was just moved. It was never meant to stay at SFGAm for its entire life, just a few years. It was a part of SF's ride exchange. It died in the early 90s, I think. SFMM was the park that had Z-Force at the time, so it still lives there. We, on the other hand, were the park that had Condor at the time. I think before SFGAm, it was at SFoMA (Over Mid America, now St Louis,) and maybe other parks. It's much harder to track flat rides than coasters because there is no site like RCDB for flats.Rolling Thunder was also a part of this program. I think it came from SFGAdv, and ended up at Great Escape.
But still... American Eagle is the only other woodie besides Viper that the park has... There would be a lot of angry people (including me) if they took Eagle out.
HELLOOOO,Has anyone even thought that the next ride probably being taken out is the Iron Wolf. I mean don't get me wrong it's a good coaster but it's a little rough, and it was the very first stand up looping coaster so that means it's a little old(lol). Plus there's never really a line for it. The line for the Whizzer can get pretty long sometimes(meaning more people like going on the Whizzer that Iron Wolf). I've never seen the line for Iron Wolf even get close to filling up the queue. The last two times I've been to SFGAM I've only waited about 15 or so minutes for Iron Wolf(and that was for FRONT ROW). So I think this ride is going next.
It is long enough where I will walk over to V2 or Batman instead. Early in the day and late at night it is a very short line but in the afternoon it is pretty long line.
16 Rides on TTD
10 in Front
4 in front at night
John kerry's got a big head
You guys have to remember though that it is still early in the season come mid july theres going to be maybe twice as many people at the park and then more rides are going to have longer lines such as iron wolf.
Im at the park almost every day that its open. IW always has a big line. Its not the first stand up looping coaster. And just because its rough doesnt mean it should be taken out. From what I hear Raging Wolf Bobs is one of the roughest coasters around. Guess what thats still around.
Correction: Raging Wolf Bobs is the half-roughest half-smoothest woodie around. But anyways, even though Iron Wolf doesn't draw a big crowd, I always see it filling trains. Just because it's rough doesn't mean it will be removed. Usually, unless the ride does something very very bad, rides on the chopping block would be the ones that are more expensive to maintain. I've heard that Jumbo Jets need spare parts custom machined, and Whizzer is basically a Jumbo Jet on a more spread out track. Custom parts, now thats expensive.
