^^ That is not a support, if it were a support, there would be flanges on the ends to bolt together. Also going on park property when the park is closed is TRESPASSING and you can be arrested and charged.
Anyone else remember the SUF support that was built in the middle of the parking lot? That pic reminds me of that, has no significance whatsoever but will cause a big discussion .
upsidedowner wrote:I stopped by the park today and unfortunately there was not a piece of track nor was their any part of a train in the employee lot. There were a bunch of the large shipping containers near S:UF and this piece of support (I haven't been on the site in a while so I don't know if there has been any discussion on this piece).
Me and my friends saw this on Halloween day last week and we were joking that it was a support that never made it. (Different Story) It's when you exit SUF's line and go right underneath the lift is where it was on the other side of the fence.

^I love those pictures. I also can not wait for the internet coaster geek wars that arise over this ride. God bless Six Flags for making out of left field decisions.
However if IW opens in 2010 sporting Changs trains, that will be pretty definitive that Chang will indeed become floorless (which I'm convinced of, though still can't say why)

This is exciting! Wow too bad we cannot have it for next season all ready to go. Where are they gonna fit all of Chang for all those months? I sooo want Chang floorless I am just not a fan of standing.
Dude wikipedia? That can be edited by anyone and usually stuff gets deleted/edited each day of the week. ZERO credibility. But we know Chang is coming don't be absurd.
These pics are awesome rob! However, I still don't want to fully believe it... Have the supports really discolored that much? Compared to pics of chang on the internet, the support in the SFgam parking lot seems much lighter. And at first I thought that the staircase could not be chang's, but now looking at this picture, http://www.coastergallery.com/SF/Chang4.jpg. onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. it looks like that could be the lower staircase to the station that is not visible.
Recent pics of Chang during deconstruction show the paint is very faded, same as what's in our lot. That staircase is the staircase that used to lead up to the load side of Chang's station, on the back side of the station in the pic shown in the past post.

Does anyone recall the site that someone listed showing Chang coming down @ sfkk? It was one small section that was removed from one of the last weekends sfkk was open for the season, and I am trying to see if the support that arrived here on Friday is accurate. Thanks
Also, I am wondering if the track is going somewhere else for maintenance and maybe only the supports will start showing up for a while. I am hoping that mid season next year they start construction while the park is open. Especially if it ends up going where SSA is, they can easily close off that area and give guest a preview of it while it is going up.
It should be on page 11 of this thread. And yes I think construction will begin by mid-2010 because first they have to get the land cleared up and SSA thrown out. Then of course they will most likely paint during off-season 2010.
I think its a good idea that Great America is gonna get this coaster. After, the Dark knight got put, everyone went to it, but ended up beind a bad ride. I personally think the dark knight is the worst coaster they got at SFGA. I think its kind of a bummer that the chang coaster is not something brand new to any park. it would be cool if it was brand new and no one had ridden it before. i also read something like the whizzer is on its last days so maybe that will go. Hopefully this coaster will make up for the other coasters i dont really like. Personally i dont like, Superman, dark knight, iron wolf. Viper is ok. Everything else is thumbs up! Lets see what happens.
I am a long time listener first time caller. Just wanted to get in on the fun! Before this I had only been posting on TPR. Thought i would branch out a bit. I have been playing around with Google and bing maps and think i hit the nail on the coffin with the theory of Chang ending up in the SSA/ go carts foot print. I think if this is the case, HH will have a new and much more convienet entrance. There was a little difference in the angle of the picture betwen google and Bing this version of Chang was a little easier to clean up the footprint. Tell me what you think.
It's amazing, for the as long as I can remember, people on here have been making up rumors and hoping for a floorless at SFGAm. Now we may actually get one, in the most bizarre way...
What do you guys think about the SSA/go kart spot area? Personally I don't like roller coaster overlooking things like a parking lot. I'd rather see them find a place for it more inside the park.

But that is really the only consistent theme of Six Flags.
