a reliable source told us that SFKK now wants to scrap the bonsai beach expansion and rebuild another coaster where chang was....WHAT?!
If this were any other park chain, there is no hope of this being true in any way.
However, this being Six Flags, I would not be surprised if a dueling woody to go in Chang's spot. The company is making some truly odd decisions over the last 10 years, nothing should shock anyone.
I just have this really weird gut feeling of Twisted Twins going to SFStl. SFSTl has the perfect spot for it, they already have the trains, moving it would be easy, and SFStl likes wooden coasters.
But this is only based upon Six Flags decisions lately.
^ Umm . . . moving ANY wooden coaster is anything but easy. And you will never see SF spend the money it would take to relocate a full sized dueling wooden coaster.

Twisted Twins is actually kind of smaller, and if my memory is correct, it looks like a wooden coaster, but it's actually one of those steel coasters with wooden track, kind of like they have in the Wisconsin Dells (Hades?). It looks like a wooden coaster, but the supports are metal. Perhaps that would make it easier to move. It would be a shame to scrap it- it's a fun coaster. On a side note, if SFKK is turning into a waterpark, I wish we could get our Tidal Wave (Greezed Lightnin) back! I think that would fit nicely right where Splashwater Falls was, and they could keep the whole racing theme, since it would be next to the cars! I know that would probably never happen, though...

I'm with you. I've read 2 other SF park message boards saying Chang track and trains are there. At this point, it could end-up anywhere.

It really might be because of a backlash of people complaining you are taking out the best coaster you have here (Chang), and we are not coming back if you don't put another one in. That park is ruined in my opinion anyway. You had the accident, and than on top of that, you close a section with a roller coaster in it, and you don't even want to take it down to build something else. This park is quite SMALL. It's not huge. Sure, you can play around at Great Adventure, and take away a whole section, and people won't miss it, but not this park.
When I went, they had the Superman ride, Rainbow, Twisted Twins, Splash Water Falls, and Chaos still around (These are all gone!), but yet I still really didn't like that park, and it was pretty empty. Is the motion simulation still there? What rehashed coaster are they going to take out or somewhere else, and give it to SFKK than if this was true? I would say Magic Mountain but Shapiro needs to have the record. It's so important. Sure. How about Ninja at SFStL? Not many people like that ride.

Scrap? Dunno bout that. Im sure theyve already invested $. And SF has little to throw around ,perhaps this rumor makes more sense that theyll do both. Recipient of a ride rotation. Add a coaster and expand the park. Who knows. Onto the more important matter. If the track arrival rumor is true, seriously, lets see some pictures. Giant yellow track on flatbed truck should be easy to spot coming into the park ...no? Maybe not.
Well now the park is closed so chances are slim...unless someone wants to sneak around and take some pics with zoom? Kinda like Carowinds fans are doing now with Intimidator and SFKK fans with Chang coming down
No one that I am aware of has ever had problems going into the employee lot at SFGAm in the past. However if you go up the employee entrance there is a dropoff area right before you get to the security booth (which is unmanned in the offseason). From there you get a pretty much clear view of the entire lot.
Also from South Park depending what's happening and where in the park you can get decent pictures.
Edit: Forgot to mention one thing... While you can get into the employee lot easily, don't abuse it. Don't get out of your car, don't mess with anything, don't steal anything. Prefably use the dropoff area outside the lot itself and follow those same rules.

10 Coaster Points to the first person to go and take pictures at (near) the employee parking lot! A BONUS 25 CPs if you actually get a picture of a new (to our park) roller coaster track! ======================================== I have some further analysis of where this ride can go. Here is my little investigation. I looked at that picture with the truck and the license plate. Yes, it was an Illinois license plate. The truck seems to be a Utility Truck, and the only Illinois location is in Burr Ridge. People have said that an Illinois license plate means nothing, but if you think about it, why would Six Flags purchase (or rent) a trailer from Illinois (which isn't too far from SFGAm) if they weren't going to give it to our home park? I feel that it would be pointless to get a truck from Burr Ridge, send it down to Kentucky, and take it to another state. As far as I know, Illinois doesn't have any B&M factories they can take the track to, so I'm confident that we are getting those trains. Unless... Six Flags is just messing with us.

That view only gets you the side road that leads from the employee lot to the Grand entrance, and the backstage areas alongside it (greenhouses for the flowers in particular). Unless they are storing track on the Shockwave hill, you won't see much from there unless they move the trains behind the greenhouses. It was a perfect area to watch Dark Knight construction, though.

The thing is when we rent a car, we get some different license places. I can be from IL, but when renting a car in lets say Ohio, people think you are from Colorado even though you aren't. I don't know why they would rent a trailer from IL instead of Kentucky if the license plates aren't switched. To me, it seems like one unnecessary trip backwards with multiple trucks.

On closing day, when I got on BTR at night, one of the employees checking restraints said to the other employee "Did you hear what we're getting in 2011? A roller coaster." I know what I heard because they were checking our restraints. Of course he didn't say what though, he said he'd tell her later.

So many things wrong with that idea. First of all it is CLEARLY a wooden coaster, because it has a wooden track, feels like a wooden coaster, and has wooden-styled supports. It is in NO way a steel coaster. The supports are designed exactly like wooden ones; the only reason they are steel is so the don't have to be replaced. It would still be really expensive to move it, as they are designed exactly like wooden supports.
(sings)If you want to be my Chang-y, doesn 't matter if your black or white, or brown, or blue, or green, or red, or orange, or mauve, or yellow... 2010 trips- Dollywood, SFGAm, maybe SoCal
I stopped by the park today and unfortunately there was not a piece of track nor was their any part of a train in the employee lot. There were a bunch of the large shipping containers near S:UF and this piece of support (I haven't been on the site in a while so I don't know if there has been any discussion on this piece).
