What should replace Deja Vu and Splashwater Falls?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Screamscape is full of crap. Any coaster is good in my book weather it be a dive machine or something else.

If you haven't noticed...Screamscape has changed their story for SFGAm 3-4 times in the past week. They are either obviously 1)Not even sure what is going on and going on crazy made-up stories with very few, and may i mention, weak, sorces, or 2) know what is going on and make up stories to toy with our heart

if sfgam was going to add a new coaster they should move the farmers market (and take out a couple of resturants because every time I go there no one is even in there) any way move a couple of resturants in to swf old area (and yes I know the cars are there but there are still steps to go over the cars from swf and when the cars had two sides running) that takes yiu to the middle of the cars! so.... now that vu is gone and so is farmers market they have a giant space to put a coaster!they really should do that

Whats goin on guys, i haven't posted in a long time. But, anyway, about the whole situation with the two empty spots, lets be realistic for a sec. My point of view is, yes, it would be nice if we did recieve a "big" coaster to fill the spots. But, here is the issue, a 4d coaster would be nice, but i don't think it would fit the spots without changing the pathways or infrustructure. All coasters cost big $, and six flags would have to work with or around that money issue, and to be honest, i think that that great america should be more aware when it comes to choosing which company should manufacture a new "rollercoaster". excuse me if i am just rambling on, but i think that they need to pay more attention to what they select. Our park is supposed to be themed off of our "great america" and they should choose to put in a coaster that would best fit and best theme off of the area where Deja'vu and SWF were. To tell you the truth, six flags hasn't really been focusing on "all" ages. Not all people want fast rides, not all want slow rides, or family oriented areas. People are different in all perspectives and i think that theming and scenery should still come into play with visitors. Yes people like thrills, flats and all, but you still need ATMOSPHERE. sorry if i am not making any sence, i just wanted to get that off my shoulders. But anyway, you would need to select a good ride or any coaster to best "fit" the area. I think we are trying way too hard to bring in all age groups by adding kid stuff, like the dark knight coaster. i heard bad reviews on it, but don't go by me on that comment. anyway, yes, a eurofighter might be good, or your good ol' classical woodie, but something simple and not dull should got on the plot. I think you all have great thoughts about new types of roller coasters and sharing them and the imagination is limitless. So, i am going to stop blabbering and list some coasters that might go well on the land........... 1. custom intamin launched. 2. eurofighter. 3. custom launched premier coaster. 4. custom B&M dive machine (nothing like sheikra or griffon). have a good night.

What could be some themes for a eurofighter?

or would it just "be" a eurofighter?

Well, since the two plots of land are located in county fair, why not have a euro fighter based off of something like that, like a firecracker or firework or maybe even a patriot themed ride. That would be pretty cool. Or another good idea would be to intergrate the plots of land to where they are a part of hometown square, maybe base a ride off of like a fire dept. or a fire rescue to kind of go along with the old firehouse pizza. I don't know, what ever the case might be, just build and theme a ride to perfectly suite the area. Heres another good idea, it would be interesting if they can make the plots themed off of like a haunted territory to kind of tribute to the demon. I don't know, with me, i would actually have to physically talk about my ieas instead of typing because there are plenty of them. lol.

^Very good idea but I like the County Fair theme as it is. Splitting up Demon's area into a haunted territory would include The Orbit which would make it out of theme. Anyway, they wouldn't do that because of fright fest.

I don't think we will hear anything until September or October. Dark Knight was confirmed in late September 2007. It's not like something much bigger will take those spots so they don't need much more time than normal for construction. They don't even need to be done by opening day 2009. still hoping for that dive machine... :)

Then just do it for fright fest.

Screamscape's rumor for today....

2009 - New Attraction - Rumor - (7/14/08) The latest buzz about the rumored Splash Battle attraction on the way to the park in 2009 claims that this will be a Mack Rides version of the attraction concept and that it will pretty much only be located in the old Déjà Vu location. It’s also believed that we could see the park’s Go-Karts moved to a new track location where Splashwater Falls used to be, opening up the old track location for a future expansion of Hurricane Harbor.

Wouldn't it make more sense to put the Splash Battle where SWF was and go-karts where Deja Vu was?

Okay.... How does screamscape exactly know it's a splash battle? Do they have some random ride program that assigns random rides to go in each park? These 'sources' are probablyten year olds emailing the site telling what's going to happen. We lost a coaster, and get a water ride? I doubt we will get this Splash Battle, but who knows? It would be nice to get a launch coaster in our park in that spot.... Like Chiller (which i doubt any Six Flags Parks will ever see, even though it's ready to be put up anywhere), or like the rumored Dive Machine....
Plus...Why would they add the water ride, if they would expand the Hurricane Harbor WATER park? Too much water! We need an enjoyable ride for the elders.... We've got what the youngling want, so we should expect something soon....
Also.. keep in mind that the park president said something about connecting these two spots, as they are close to eachother. (I heard that somewhere, but i can't be sure where) If he said that, I doubt we would get a splash down. It's too small to fit in Vu's spot..
Well here are some ideas I have....
Image
The possibilities here are connecting locations A and B. Would it be possible to do A and C, or even A B and C? Area C (Looney tunes) doesn't really attract many kids, even on crowded days like yesterday! If you connect A and B, you can get a nice Dive Machine, which ill show you how it can fit in. But will it fit the rumored go-carts? Lets see....
Image
Too big! You would have to resize the midway, and it would interfere with some builings, like the ones at farmers market! But wait... we now have a 3 point shoot game? Right? Even less room! Putting the track there would require a new layout, a smaller one... Imagine putting the Go carts in Splash's old spot. Just look at the size, and keep in mind that Great American Raceway is there as well. So.. if no Gocarts... Maybe a dive machine?
Image
This actually looks like it can work... This is skeikra, so the ride type would be a bit different and more custom for our park. This looks like a good idea for the park!
But a Splash battle? I don't want to take the time to put that in...

Its not like they would pick up the gokart track with a helicopter and plop it down on that spot, they have to pave a new one meaning they could easily change it to whatever dimensions they want.

Oh puleez I think it is stupid as well to do a water ride in the park when most people have been waiting for a new ride for HH. Let's wait until Six Flags announces something themselves before we take rumors as facts. It is still early to think about that stuff. We are stil in July! Probably no construction until near the end of the season or even later.

This thread is made about 'What should replace Deja Vu and Splashwater Falls'. I don't see why we shouldn't talk about the replacement of these areas, because anything else would be off topic. Nothing will replace these areas this year, making it completely reasonable to discuss the future of these spots.
Who knows what will happen to Six Flags, maybe it'll go... maybe not.
Apparently, the Splashbattle is what looks best for next season, BUT keep in mind that it's still a rumor. No matter who says it. Take my comments with a grain of salt, because things change.
Plus, we all want a Dive Machine. That's why we have that rumor. It's because WE want it.
But..
We can't always get what we want

I kinda made this thread to see what other people wanted to see replace those spots, but I think all these rumors and speculations also add to it as well. And seeing those pics actually make a dive machine look somewhat possible!
