^ I'm pretty sure it was the spastic wizard atop Raging Bull, but it also could be the crazy elves in the Pictorium

I thought he died a few years back when Bull was struck by lightning!

I still want a Dive Machine...I think I might just spend my money going to Busch Gardens instead next year!

Not snippy, just annoyed that it is still drained. Does anybody know why it is?

End of the season staffing problems.
Saving money by running one flume.
Crowds decreasing so it doesn't upset a lot of people.
Mainetnance as said on the sign hanging by the entrance. "This attraction is temporarily closed while maintenance is being done".
Say goodbye to Yankee Clipper till April/May 2009.

I wonder when Logger's Run and roaring rapids will close...getting cold these days for water rides.

And you get really wet on those rides compared to Clipper. I always wondered why they choose Loggers over Clipper to open on bad days :?

Yeah I barely got wet just wet on the face on Logger's Run. Yankee clipper is closer and my brother was like "Logger's Run is the only thing to do in Yukon Territory it sucks!" They should make it a flash pass for both water rides that are virtually right next to each other. Yankee Clipper is way more fun and gets you the most wet...probably because it has a different slope than LR. See ya in 2009 Yankee Clipper!

well after the first lift on LR is where you get the most wet if you sit right in the front.

I think that Logger's Run gets you more wet over Yankee Clipper. Why is Yankee's Clipper closed more than Logger's Run? I think Logger's Run is more popular than Yankee's Clipper. My theory as to why Logger's Run gets people more wet is because the drop isn't that steep. Why does that matter? It matters because with less speed, you don't just glide over the water compared to the Yankee Clipper.

However, the Yankee Clipper does have that part where you go under the ramp where it leaks some water, so that adds some water plus the water on the drop. I don't care for either one though. If the troughs were more like Kiddieland's, I think I would go on it a lot more often, but it just goes too fast with no splashes until you are at the very top.

The water ride I really liked at Great America (non-waterpark) is Roaring Rapids, but those new boats are bad, and / or the water is much lower than it used to be. The rapids used to be something else before, but now they just aren't that big.

Do the new boats on RR really make the ride that bad? I don't no because I did not go on it when I went.

They should just use more of them. Last time I saw like 6 not being used. With the lines RR gets, they need to move quicker. Why have so many if you won't use them?

Its operation is strictly dictated by staffing, and the way the schedules are set up makes it a day-to-day crapshoot. It takes 4 ride operators to run the ride with 4 rafts, 5 for 6 rafts, 6 for 8, 7 for 10 rafts (techincally though if you count the FlashPass as an extra grouper and run 10 rafts with 6 ops). They make the employee schedules so on a normal summer day when the ride opens at 11, it either starts with 4 or 6 then works it way up to 8 or 10 then at night it drops back down to 4. The ride was designed to run far more than 10 but all of those extra positions arent staffed anymore, but it has extremely high capacity with 10 rafts. There were 12 rafts at the ride this year so no matter what youll see some sitting in the reseviour.

Typically if one flume is to close they will keep Loggers open because many people think of the "log flume" when they want to go on a water ride and Clipper doesnt really get that much attention plus Yankee Clipper breaks down more. It wasnt till 2004 I remember Yankee Clipper (or Ice Mountain Splash) as it was called then was actually open consistantly. In 02/03 it was pretty much SBNO unless Loggers had a major breakdown, if I were Ice Mountain I wouldve been pretty pissed :)

^You first, your post didn't add anything to the topic either!

So what other attractions could fit in that spot with a pirate theme that would be good for our park?! I think we are too stuck on the Splash Battle, it hasn't been announced yet, people, let's be creative!

I hope it's for the Six Flags Pirate Cheer Squad! It will fit perfectly over there, just think about it... You can have a pirate ship facing the 3 point shoot out while the Six Flags Pirate Cheer Squad cheer you on to victory. And of coarse if you win, you get to pick a Six Flags Pirate Cheer Squad member to walk around the park with you all day cheering just for you!
