I could see this being a refurb. I can also see it being a new ride.
If it was a new ride, I'd hope they would intertwine it with Demon or tie it in with it somehow thus for saving it. but could also see this being a Dorney situation where Hercules died so hydra could take over. It's not the same ride obviously but pays homage to it by embracing its story line or theme. Hence the demon theme.

Honestly coming from the Six Flags corporate account makes me feel this ride is more significant then what we think. Also when Tony Clark was at the park last week, he stated he couldn’t wait for that ‘big thing’ coming soon.
While I see your point & am hopeful you're correct, that could mean very little. I mean the park teased Hometown Park, let's not forget that. The only consideration I have that this is def not that kind of situation is the fact it's been several years. It does feel like a significant addition.

Not much to do in the theme department.
As for refurbishment, what can they realistically do? Weld more tracks, paint, and add effects?
They could do what Busch Gardens Williamsburg did for this season on Lochness. They replaced bad parts of the track to make it smoother. It was done by Vekoma.
This absolutely confirms it’s a B&M Dive coaster!! It leads to a video on the Six Flags corporate YouTube channel

I understand where you’re coming from, but the Swiss teasers could also be Intamin. It’s most likely B&M, which I am hoping for, but it could also be Intamin. Seriously doubt it though. Thought I’d bring it up.

I rode Lochness 2x in early July. Very smooth and fun ride! They added the part at the end (inside the mountain) I believe.
Single Day Ride Count Record
50 rides 8/17/2018 (Without Flash Pass - Coasters After Dark)
I don't understand what the heck they're doing, and why they're doing this. At the most, i don't want Demon to die.
As far as the theme comment go, i think some people will appreciate it, it doesn't need to be the most immersive thing ever, but at least some thought in the atmosphere would greatly be appreciated. Like the Go-Karts in Yukon make no f*ing sense and i'd definitely use that area more for a small wooded LT land or something than coaster space

Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
Loch Ness was done by Premier Rides. Now if SF wanted to flush big bucks down the toilet on a ride such as Demon, Vekoma would be the way to go, their retrack of Python at Efteling is absolutely flawless, the ride is still not worth riding in the least, same as before, but it's smoothness is almost creepy, not a single bump on it.
I've been trying to see if Great America will leak the information before tomorrow. I was playing with the urls but nothing seems to work. The ones I've tried lead to a Christmas tree. LOL How did New England get lucky.
I understand that most of the older crowd on here don't share this opinion, but I think that Demon is a terrible ride, and I would be more than happy with it being replaced. I'm not a fan of Arrow loopers to begin with, but I've always found Demon to be one of the worst of them I've ridden alongside Anaconda at Kings Dominion. Now, I'm not saying that it's rough. It's actually relatively smooth considering its age. My problems with Demon are the track profiling and the restraints. The restraints on Demon are horrible, and I swear I've never seen them on any other Arrow looper. Why it has these instead of the more traditional OTSR's that every other Arrow looper has boggles my mind. Also, the track profiling on Demon is unbelievably horrendous, which is an opinion I have about most Arrow coasters. This is especially the case during the transition into the double corkscrew, which I always find myself bashing my head into those awful restraints. So yeah, if Demon is biting the dust for a new coaster, I wouldn't be sad at all.

I'm a few years younger than you and yet love Demon. It may not be the best ride, but a classic is a classic. I think it needs a retrack and repaint at most

New England's had already essentially leaked via Parkfans 2 weeks ago. Not the name, but that it was an Intamin family multi launch like Wave Breaker.

Demon has been the first looping coaster for 3 of my 4 kids, the fourth won't be big enough for a few years. I'd be sad to see it go as it's a tradition for us and all the kids that have been on it love it. I've never had any headbanging issues on it and also loved Shockwave when it was here.
I'm so happy they're finally getting that launch coaster. It may not be what they wanted but it's a good Intamin. Honestly, Arctic Rescue is my fav coaster at SW San Diego. It's just so fun & I appreciate the length. Then I ride Emperor 5 times in a row cause no one is ever back there. lol so let's get this dive coaster & then an Intamin straddle coaster haha.

Yeah no, i'm still fully against shoving a bunch of coasters into the park to satisfy coaster enthusiasts. We can add other things y'know? or improve the park in other ways besides adding another coaster. The biggest thing the park needs rn is to renovate its kiddie areas.
