X-Flight new for 2012

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

^ Does AE really need it? Besides now with blue being backwards I've never found it to have that long of a line length wise. Honestly, I'd rather see it just get separate queues for each side than a Flash Pass.

They really just need to re-build the entire queue. Especially if Dare devil dive is removed. That line is a maze to get through the way it is. If they plan on keeping that ride long term, it would be worth the investment to make something that looks a little nicer and is more user friendly.

I think that a flash pass would confuse this line way too much.

When blue runs backwards it creates a backup of the line, and they need a special red queue for those who don't want to ride backwards.

I don't think that will benefit anyone really. I mean have you really heard of anyone going to the park alone? Sure maybe a parent will let their kid ride alone on a ride while the parent waits outside the queue but going alone is kind of strange? awkward? weird? IDK. I can see if someone lives real close and decides to just check out the place and maybe kill some time by going on a few coasters and then going home right way, but really most people spend most of their day there...in groups I will add. I can't see someone spending a whole day alone at the park. If you have a child and want that single ride option like on Ragin Cajun', you might as well get your child a flash pass. They'll be in and out in a jiffy. Its almost the same if you look at it.

^^ Not saying that DDD won't be moved there, but IW's footrpint can hold more than just an upcharge attraction. Hard to say what SFGAM is gonna do at any give moment lately. We could have had Chang this year and no Riptide Bay....very last minute decision. Now not only do we not have two standups in the park, but we have none at all....and that's okay.

They could move DDD (Which does not appear in the animation for XF), and still have the whole back half of IW area with nothing on it, still would fit a ZacSpin/ EuroFighter....I MAY be a new poster on this forum, but I've been on TPR Forum for many years(same screen name) (and lurking on this one on and off).....I don't always have the 'most accurate' info, but I am not opposed to repeating internet chatter and such.

It's fun to debate and imagine....if I truly have the 'inside scoop' I will post it as such.

In any case, I am glad we are exchanging Beemers in a roundabout way.

And I'm glad that my wife always buys me a season pass.....I'll be going to ride X-Flight as often as possible.

There are people who go to parks solo for a full day. I've done it at Great America and all the WDW parks. Nothing strange, awkward or weird about it. It's actually really nice to take in a relaxing day at your own pace doing what you want to do when you want to.

That said, a single rider would never happen as it would require groupers. Outside of a Superman or V2, which have the station room for a grouper, it would be a mess elsewhere. Plus Six Flags is kinda broke.

I go to GA and have been going to Lagoon by myself. It isn't that bad to go alone. Anyways, X-Flight is gonna be amazing...I can't wait to move back to Chicago next summer and ride it

Does anyone think they will have a bit of air-force type themeing in the que? I would like to see a stealth bomber prop somewhere kinda like what they did with GL @ SFGAd. They used a stealth bomber in the concept art and the logo which i really liked.

Many people use them at Disney. This year ive riden RC twice and waited about 10 seconds and 45 seconds in the Singles line. That's probably faster than a Flashpass. In any case the most i've waited was 20 mins.

Many other parks, like those mentioned have single rider lines. It seemed like a foreign concept to me when I first heard of them. They are nice because they will cut your wait time significantly since most people do go to the park with a group.

From my experiance when I used to work for the park. We had many people asking if there were any single rider lines. At DejaVu especially. I once was greeting guests at the entrance and had a lady come up and asked something like this: "Hi, would there be any way I could cut the line if I am riding alone. My kids are too young to ride this and my husband is too scared, and I have never ridden this ride before. Do you think there would be any way". I ofcourse said hell yeah lol. I took the lady thru "never used" flash pass line, and I made her wait from the bottom of the entrance stairs that lead to the station. After she rode DejaVu, she thanked me for like 10 minutes, and it actually touched me. She loved the ride and I am glad I did it, year later DejaVu closed for good.

It's called guest service, I would say. Giving people more options is good, it never hurt the park. This lady would propably never had a chance if I wouldn't say yes. I made her day, she was really happy, that guest will come back to the park. Now think about family members that wanted to ride but where in same situation? they never did...

So yeah single rider lines are great idea. Maybe you won't use them, but I bet someone else will. I know I would if I was with bunch of acers, Do I have to sit with them? Neh lol. I can sit alone. It's the ride I am experiancing not the guest next to me ;-)
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!

Single rider lines also attract groups of guest who don't want to wait in the long lines. Some groups don't really care who they sit with and they just want to get on as many rides as they can.

^^The park usually treats the adults and older guests with more respect. Ive noticed the teens/younger adults don't get that same treatment and respect. Its something Ive noticed because I fall in that category.

The single rider line on Diamondback is plain genious. Never once have I seen a empty train.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2.

Photos up on SFGAm's Facebook. 3 photos so far. I'll be in the park tomorrow and have my own update if the park's photos prove insufficient .

Hopefully people post pictures of construction during the on and off season. I definitely want to see when the trains come in and arrive fresh out of the B&M "oven."

Do you think there is any chance they might put back in the Antique Cars? I know they aren't the most popular thing around, but maybe with X-Flight there, it might gain some more ridership. (With a new layout, of course) Because they haven't taken down the queues nor did they remove any of the cars, yet.

^ I wouldn't be surprised if the cars do return. It seems strange that they are still on the track (er, whats left of it  ). If they do come back, it will have a new queue and loading area though. Everything on that side of the midway from the entrance to Southwest Territory up to the pizza place will be demolished.

The track is completley torn up and the cars are getting old and rotting. It was never that popular in the first place, plus its a older model. Unless they put alot of effort to move them somewhere else, THEY'RE NOT COMING BACK.

Ok so I got 2 articles on x flight from the sun times and the tribune, but the tribune article is kind of off though. It has a list of all the coasters made in the past leading up to x flight.

Demon
American Eagle
Iron Wolf
Batman: The Ride
Viper
Raging Bull
Vertical Velocity
Superman
Ragin Cajun
The Dark Knight
X-Flight

If your a spot the difference kind of person then you'd notice the list excludes the whizzer, spacely sproket and the little dipper. Iron wolf is still on the list too (The article says at the bottom that little dipper isn't included, but what about the other two?)
Xlight total rides:
50 times and in every row except front row left wing.

Spacly's is a kids coaster and LD is hard to say because it's technically our newest and oldest coaster. LD opened in 1950 but we just go it last year. But Whizzer. Alot of people know about Whizzer and i don't get why it's not on their

For me the only thing special about the Whizzer is that it was my first coaster at SFGAm. It was a great ride.....when I was 8. The spiral lift and getting super close to the trees and ground made me scream with excitement. Now, I've realized that their are two types of coaster enthusiasts. Your "hardcore only-ride-the-big-coasters-in-the-park" people and the people who love everything about coasters down to the mechanics or type of ride. Most people on this site are obviously the second type, but SFGAm NEVER shows Whizzer in its commercials because of the low thrill factor toward teens or young adults. It's more of a family ride. So if they're promoting X-F, Whizzer doesn't really fit in there.
