Those crates have been sitting there for a long time now. I'm told they hold Ameri Go Round that used to sit where Revolution is now. It's a very old, very valuable Denzel carousel. Not sure why the park holds onto it, would be better if it operated in a park or if they sold it.

Forget Chang trains in the back area, where did we get that brown Roaring Rapids boat, or are they being painted?? On the ones I have been on (at other Six Flags parks), I haven't seen a brown one before. The only other color I've seen is gray, and that's a Magic Mountain.

^ Those rapids boats have been around in the employee parking lot since 2006. They came from Six Flags AstroWorld. There are brown, orange, and green ones. Some of the orange ones are actually run on Rapids.
^They already have a carousel there at one of the food courts. I think they have one at both food courts, but I'm not sure. It doesn't look like ameri-go-round, though.
Ameri-Go-Round was pretty huge. I cant see it fitting anywhere inside Gurnee Mills.
When they tore the ride out it was in fair to good shape. It needed some of cosmetic work, other than that it seemed pretty solid. As long as it's being kept dry it should be in decent shape still.

Nah, this is what is going to happen. Chang's trains will be put on Iron Wolf. Iron Wolf will be rethemed to Green Lantern. Chang will go to SFGAdv, and we will be getting a Bizarro-themed Dive machine (rolls eyes)

Sure We're totally getting a dive machine. Be realistic. If anyone gets a dive machine, it's MM, or GAdv.
magic Mountain will get a kiddie coaster of some sort for 2010 and a ride on the mountain itself for 2011 supposedly. We are 50/50 for a dive machine with Six Flags Great Adventure. We are more profitable and our last major coaster was in 2003. They have Kingda Ka. El Toro.
Why doesn't the park just operate Ameri-go-round? Is it no longer useable?
It was always dead, would be a waste of money to rebuild and run it at SFGAm again. No one really had a reason to ride it when there is a much larger Carousel that is the parks icon.
^^^^^^^Because you don't need 3 carousels (Columbia is 2, and Ameri-Ground is 1). Yes, Columbia is really one, but it's a double decker.

That would be why I added the whole rolls eyes part. I realize what I said was extremely outlandish and the probability of that happening is 0 to 1 percent.
I think if we were to get a dive machine we would have gotten it already even with the bankruptcy protection most rides get planned 3-4 years in advance and I don't know if Six Flags is as crazy over dive machines as half the people here.
So I wonder how long we wil have to wait till we find out the park is dumping the Iron Wolf trains to the garbage and installing Chang's...I hope that is not the end of Wolf's transformation and a nice brighter paint job will also happen eventually
Honestly, I don't like Dive Machines that much. However, I've only been on one. (Sheikra) I thought it was short, the drop wasn't even half as intense as Raging Bull's and I personally just think the ride is overrated in general. Maybe I just rode the bad one out of all the Dive Machine's, but I think they are way overrated. I'd rather have a nice genuine looping roller coaster any day over a Dive Machine.
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!

Again, since Chang was over 125 Feet, an approval from the ZBoA does need to happen, as well as a final approval by the full Village of Gurnee board. If the park does not get that, they cannot build Chang here. We'll see what 2010 brings as far as the approval process goes.
