I said its was incredible and super smooth. One operator said he was on his way this weekend and asked if Goliath was big man friendly. I said I wasn't sure. Is it?
It really depends on "where" the person in question is big. A large chest dimension isn't a problem but if you're heavy in the stomach and even more so in the hips It looks like more of a problem, based on my limited observations. A couple people told me that because of the tightness of the seat, once the lapbar is down it isn't exactly comfortable. They weren't overweight or anything, just very muscular.
I have large legs and had a small issue with Goliath, but was still able to ride. It wasn't uncomfortable once the lap bar was locked. Bull is more uncomfortable for me when the lap bar locks. I'm roughly 280lbs and carry most of that in my legs and stomach.

Pretty sure it was filmed before Goliath was built and opened, so it was most likely filmed in 2013. You'll probably see Outlaw Run, Iron Rattler, but who knows.

I've seen the list for this season. There are a couple Goliaths in the mix, (La Ronde and Magic Mountain) but not the one at SFGAm. Just about all of the footage for this season was filmed way before the Goliath here was done.
I was in the X-Flight episode that aired last summer, and we filmed the previous October, so there definitely was not time to film our Goliath for inclusion this season, but hopefully it will appear in a future year!
Does anyone know what the queueing procedures for Goliath are at park opening? I was there on the 22nd and entered the park at 10 am and the line for Goliath was already filled to the second permanent queue block in front of the station. It took me a bit off guard because I thought that someone said that opening day was more like the running of the bulls at rope drop, but the second day was a little more controlled. The 22nd might have also been an aberration due to it being Catholic Family day at the park and the park hosting a Catholic mass at 9:30 in the picnic groves.
Does anyone know what time they open the gates to the park? Are they no longer doing a rope drop? If there is a rope drop, what time do they start lining up for Goliath?
Stopped at the park last night on my way home for a ride on Goliath. I asked about this rumored single rider queue to which I was told to wait through the overflow queue, then they'd send me right up. Once I got there I was told that "from now on, all single riders must wait through the full queue to the stairs, then they will be separated and placed with other riders" by a manager.
So, the single rider line may be officially dead. Kind of depressing considering the rule seemed to change in the 20 minutes I stood in line. Just missed it I guess!

haha I hope they realize that is the opposite of a single rider policy That's just default operation for every ride, just with a little more deliberation.
It probably makes the most sense to not have a single rider line. When I was there the other day, if they needed to fill a seat the person in the station was just asking "Are there any single riders?", which seems almost as efficient and more fair overall (because there's really no reason they a person should to skip hours of line just because they are single)
Hi everyone! First time poster! I can`t describe how amazing Goliath is!!! It took over TTD as my favourite coaster!!! Goliath is HANDS DOWN the best coaster in the park. It`s not even close.
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)
I rode Goliath for the first time yesterday. I was so worried that I would not fit---I'm 6', 237lbs, all the weight right at the lap bar, but I fit just fine.
Had an awkward experience with the test seat though. As we walked into the queues, I asked the guy passing out line tickets if I could try the test seat. He shrugged and said "yeah I guess if you want". So I stepped past him, and there was girl just chilling out in the seat. I said "Excuse me but do you mind if I try the seat?" And she just looked at me, and I thought.....hmmm am I missing something? Then another employee appeared and said that everybody will try the test seat when we get to that point in the line. So I turned around to the ticket distributor and said "Why didnt you tell me that!" And he just looked down lol.
So anyway, I was mostly concerned at all of the upside-down-ness of this ride. Son of the Beast etched in my mind that upside down on wood=bad. And I am a huge huge fan of El Toro at Great Adventure because that ride is all about airtime and hills. Goliath seemed like it would be about going upside down.
But boy was I wrong. It really packed a punch and while it wasn't quite as thrilling as El Toro, it sure was close. I cannot wait to ride it again.
I think every time I ride Goliath, I find something new that I find more and more thrilling. Initially I was most excited about the drop, but then as I keep riding, I'm finding that the over-banked turn is thrilling, the airtime hill gives you a ton of airtime, etc. I don't know, I guess that's the best way I can explain it.

I thought the whole point of a test seat was so you didn't have to wait in line. I probably would've gotten myself kicked out if I was told to wait in line, and then just find out when the line gets to that point if I'm able to ride or not.

Well yes, technically the seat is at the beginning, but then the temp queue comes before it. So anyone should be able to politely point that fact out and the security person should let you try it beforehand. And it doesn't matter what guests say; they're not in charge.
