^Well if you think about it, the name was changed to ERC to fit BTR's theme. Batman took place in Gotham or New York which is in the east. Still, I'd much rather have it named Lobster.

^Not to mention that New York has the nickname of "Gotham" for a reason, and since that reason sits right behind East River Crawler...well...do I need to go on?
In summation, the Marriott days are dead and they won't be coming back anytime soon. I know that's hard for some people to take, if that's the case then go to the park and ride Whizzer all day to spark memories.

Well, maybe not everybody likes going to a park that looks like it's from the ghetto. Great America used to stand out from other parks and obviously, you don't give a crap how the park looks as long as you get your B&M dive machine, Screaming Swing or record-shattering coaster.

So, you are saying that the Batman area (Yankee Harbor) looks horrible. Why, because their's no lighthouse anymore? Give me a break. I understand the frustration of Splash Water Falls, Space Shuttle America, and Deja Vu, but we are talking about Yankee Harbor.
Can I ask what does the Demon, a full size train, and an Antique car ride have to do with a County Fair? A ride was called The Edge in Orleans Place. That's really themed well. What does Willard's Wizard have to do with Hometown Park? Do you have a roller coaster in your hometown park? Oh, it's called Whizzer because it whizzes bye. That's great theming!! Marriott's awesome!!
At least it's green to symbolism grass on the ground. sarcasm What great locations they put Triple Play, and Hometown Fun Machine? They are so tucked away so people can ignore them. How original is Hometown Fun Machine anyway? That is just awesome. When I get my own amusement park (Yeah right.), I'm going to name my ride Gotham City's Great Contrapation, and everyone is going to love my theming.

No, it doesn't look horrible but it could definately be better with some very cheap additions. Demon may not fit in with County Fair but it had a good storyline and tell me a new ride at Great America that has that. The train DOES fit in with County Fair. Industrial Revolution sound familiar? Antique cars just seem to fit there more than anywhere else. Willard's Whizzer had a hometown family feel to it so that fits. If Marriott's was a bad and bad-themed park, it would have been forgotten. Don't take this the wrong way but you're a complete idiot.

Well if it wasn't for Marriott then there would have been no such thing as Great America.
^^^ Just to clarify something Demon was never meant to fit in with CF, it was converted win preparation of The Great Southwest Territory (Yes Marriott had the Idea for both parks) so it would still fit in with the theming for the section it was CONVERTED FOR. How is Triple Play tucked away? and HFM was able to be seen before the trees grew up in that area which looks nice but thanks SF for hiding a CLASSIC RIDE THAT ALMOST EVERYBODY LOVES.
"The rides are GREAT, The shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT. At Marriott"s GREAT AMERICA!"

Frankly, I couldn't give a crap about a B&M dive machine (overrated), Screaming Swing (one-trick pony) or record-shattering coaster (until the next year when 3 more break your record). And honestly, would trying to recapture the Marriott days make the park stand out from other parks? Renaming ERC to Lobster makes it stand out? And since when did the name ERC make that area, or the park in general, look like it's from the ghetto? It seems I hit a nerve of yours to the point where it's messed up your logic.
Let's face it, this park isn't ever going back to that little park charm it had with Marriott's. It's a Six Flags park, with no ties to Marriott. They have no incentive to try and make Marriott fans happy once again.
Rename it, I actually wouldn't care, it's not like I ride the thing in the first place anymore. People do and that's fine. The name of a freaking ride doesn't change the complexion of a park, doesn't turn it into a ghetto, and doesn't mean people don't give a crap how it looks. IT'S A NAME. What I was pointing out was how the name East River Crawler actually somewhat ties into the big ride it sits in front of, not lashing out at the glory days of Marriott.

How exactly would Demon fit in with any of the theming for The Great Southwest SFGAm07's statement could not be more true

Those are great points.
Batman the ride is A LOT more popular the the "Monster II" ride. I mean, when they built Batman they did change the theming of the area because that is more popular then having a "Yankee Harbor" theme. So they built a great and popular coaster, and wanted to make it themed so they themed the ride next to it as well (Gotham City). And when the ride first opened the line would go right next to the ride. At one point you are in between (Gotham City, The bat cave, and the East Rive Crawler)...it makes more sense. Do you think that it would have the same effect it was "the lobster"?
park that looks like it's from the ghetto
That kind of the point of the Gotham City theming. To make it look like clean, safe, bright....to dark, dirty, run down. Kind of like the transition in the actually Que line. Its all theming, and I think they did a great job. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Doesn't that make more sense instead of having "Yankee Harbor" theming when you walk around. You guys have you lighthouse (ugh), Marriotts music, "lobster", ect... then you have a huge "Batman" coaster in the middle of this???...just because of the you wanted "old outdated Marriotts theming"?

Me too...
Honestly I think SFGAm still stands out from other parks. It can't be perfect either. Heck, it's doing a hell of a lot better than SFMM was not too long ago (by the way, how's that park these days? Are they still in works/need of improvement?)
And agreed with above points. A name is a freaking name. Doesn't change anything, and definitely does not make it ghetto.
I continue to enjoy the park as much as I always have after all these years. Of course I've never been happy with the removal of Deja Vu, but that doesn't change how great the rest of the park is.
