So I guess its too much to ask that you do your maintence or rehabs between Nov and April???? So I guess the almost 6 moths of off season isnt enough time to get this done??
Wow Bob! Got some crazy vendetta against Great America's amazing maintenance team? Are you in a bet with some one? Are you about to lose lots of money? If thats the case! I'm sorry.
With over 50 rides and attractions, not to mention tearing down of two major rides and the building of another its no wonder some rides will be a little late coming online!Everything on that page that other than Clipper, Orbit and Eagle Blue are accounted for. So I don't really understand why your fussing over it! Orbit will most likely be done soon, Eagle is Re-tracking so...I hope they take as much time as they need. I rather ride a good ride that is done well than a shotty job, and Clipper is a Water Ride! Enough said! Quit your whining and go out and ride what you can and actually have fun! It will do you wonders!
Oh PS SFGAmworld awesome job on that page looks very nice!
Much of rehab and such cant be done until warmer weather which effectively reduces their maintenance time drastically. Not to mention their opening earlier this year than previously and have a full plate with everything else going on this off-season.
*edit: I really love the ride status page! Nice to see how much will be in operation for opening day!

Exactly Right! You cant possibly begin to put everything back together until i begins to get semi-warm, and with this winter that wasn't possible until late. And tp41190 is right because if an issue arose recently then they cant fix it instantly.
Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.
RB doesn't make a difference because they stack them anyway. Dark Knight had about four trains sitting outside. Doesn't look like they have been cycled yet either.
Probably because it's not a huge deal if a ride is down for a short period of time during the day or is closed for a day. If something serious happens, it will likely be reported here. The past few times I was there, there were some minor problems with V2, but they seemed insignificant to post here because the ride was working again within 10 min.
Since the ride status page hasn't been updated in awhile, I'll post some info in here. Batman: The Ride has been down since Thursday for maintenance.
Ricochet and Viper are running with reduced capacity. Ricochet has had 2 cars tied off for atleast a month now, and Viper has had car 3 (all 3 rows) tied off on both trains for atleast 2 weeks. Also, as noted in the V2 thread, V2's holding brake is dead until 2009.
The following rides are closed for the season: Yankee Clipper, Great America Scenic Railroad, and the back half of Camp Cartoon.

Thats good for Ricosh*t, ive seen that thing with like 4-5 tied off out of 14
It sucks they decided to not only decided to cut the train fall again this year but they closed it a weekend earlier than it was scheduled to? So much potential as back in the day it was a major draw during FF. Plus I think closing the train and STT just adds insult to injury seeing as their two best family rides are both idled. Whatever...
Yankee Clipper, Great America Scenic Railroad, and the back half of Camp Cartoon.
That list is going to grow very soon with Sky Trek Tower, Roaring Rapids, and Loggers Run closing for fall.
Closures like that normally depend on the staffing situation, this year is quite bad in terms of available staff so it is happening earlier. Usually for the kiddie areas the closings go 1/2 camp cartoon, then all of BBNP, followed by the rest of camp cartoon if necessary. Wiggles is the last to close.
The back half of Camp Cartoon was scheduled to be closed all year due to budget, with the exception of when it was supposed to be extremely crowded. The only time I know of when it opened was because Mystery Machine went SBNO because of an accident at another park, and the only ride that opened was only Rocky Road Rescue as as Boulder Roller was a seperate certification from the rest of kiddies.
The rides that for sure wont be open during FF are the Railroad, STT, Rapids, Yankee Clipper, Loggers. Theres always the possibility of many flats being closed during FF due to staffing also even though I think that used to be a problem much more than it is now because now they keep the international employees longer and have lifeguards that operate rides. The busiest day of 2003 literally ALL of the flats were closed...and I dont remember any days during FF last year where flats closed seeing as I ran Jester during a lot of those days and thats always the first one to close .
Last year they made LTNP, CCN, Wiggles, and Iron Wolf/Fling all lifeguards during fall after the water rides closed and made the ride operation only 3 sides compared to 4 how it normally is, I wouldnt be surprised if thats what they do again this year (though you wont be able to tell because the lifeguards wear regular uniforms this year when working in the dry park).
^ So, what happens when the ride that you are running closes? Do you get the rest of the day off? Do you have to operate a different ride? If you get the rest of the day off, do you get paid for the rest of that day?
Well if a ride closes for STAFFING you sure as hell dont get the rest of the day off ...there have been exceptions but thats a long rant thats not for this moment...
In my personal case, when my home unit was DejaVu in 2005 since it was obviousley closed a lot that crew tended to get certified quite a few rides. That year I was also trained to run Demon/Orbit/Triple Play/Whizzer/Viper/Chubasco/Trailblazer/Bull/Giant Drop/River Rocker. When Vu went SBNO during FF 2005 the crew became the "side b*tches" and just went wherever needed since. There were some days during FF id go from Whizzer to Viper to Bull to Drop just helping crews rotate through breaks. Last year at I was the lead and doing all the paperwork etc for two units on other sides of the side at the same time Cajun/JWR/BEB and Carousel/Tower/Shuttle, just the way the staffing worked out.
To further explain RBF's point and clear some things up its all situational, due to circumstance theres really no real set list though there is a way of doing things they typically go by. Ill spare the whole elaboration/lecture.
In cases like this year when Rapids/Flumes closes during FF they will train that crew for rides where they need people.
