Do you think that its fair to somebody that comes to the park to ride the newest ride and they can't becuase they have a bag or something thats too big to fit in the lockers? It doesn't take very long to put something in those bins on other rides.

U know we could go on & on about this boxes crap for SUF, but it won't change a DAMN thing, unless we start complaining to the park about it................

Don't you think that there have already been complaints about there not being boxes? Nothing has changed. Why do you think 200 more complaints are going to make a difference?

Complaining won't change it. They didn't just put lockers in instead of station boxes without thinking of the pros and cons of it. They figured the increased revenue was enough to offset the upset guests who think that lack of boxes in the station is unfair. And it is fair. I've never gone with ANYBODY who needed to carry around a large enough object that it could not be accomodated by a ride. This is mostly because if you plan well, you don't need to carry around a backpack, giant stuffed animal, or whatever. If you're not capable of planning well enough, so you are carrying around a backpack with your supposed "necessities," why should the park be responsible for its safekeeping in the station while you ride? If you're stupid enough to go win a giant animal before getting in a line, well, tough. Anyone who is alive should have enough sense in them to know if they plan on winning a giant animal, that time should also be alloted to walking to and from the vehicle so you don't have to drag it around for hours.

yea....i guess i'd have to agree, but there are still people who only visit the park once a year, and dont want to waste any time by going out back to their car to put a stuffed animal there. and some of the people may think there are boxes in the station because there's boxes in all the other stations. but what i dont understand is why there can be boxes in deja vus station which has the slowest loading time out of all the rollercoasters(plus the station is smaller) and they cant put boxes in an oversized(in my opinion) superman station!?! :?

X-Flight is the same way. I was asked to remove my keys off my belt loop. The guy said X-Flight is a beast and will undo the tight key ring. I told him yeah right and he said he's seen it happen before. Apparently there is a monster that steals from peoples pockets during the ride and rips things off of people. I smell BS.

Heres the end all solutions to this problem :idea:1. Dont Carry large sums of money in a pocket on a ride that has even the chance for it to get lost. : :!:2. If you win a giant Prize.... TAKE IT BACK TO THE CAR WITH YOU :roll:It only takes a second to inact these easy steps... to insure you have a fun, safe and happy day at... Six Flags Great America!Common Sense...its a wonderful thing

According to the new on-ride annoucements, our beloved park is no longer Great America, just Six Flags (as in "Enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags"). Is this the first step in renaming the park, so as to avoid confusion with PGAm and SFGAd??? There really aren't many references to the Great America name inside the park any longer.

Hmm, new? As far as I know, the announcements have never said "Great America". They've always just said "Six Flags".

INSANENEWMAN,That is the biggest load of crap i have ever heard, why the hell would you want to start a rumor about six flags great america changing its name? if anything it will become like Burger kings great america (cheesy example) if it gets sold, but i dont ever seeing the "great america" title in the name being changed unless of course paramount buys it, then there would be two paramounts great america and our name would most likely change. All six flags parks i have been to say thank you for visiting six flags, exept i think six flags over texas say like adios, please vis sfot again amigo

I am not starting rumors, just speculating based on fact, and I sure that Travis can tell me that speculation is still allowed... anyway, up until a year or to ago, all the ride recordings, as well as the ride ops said "Enjoy the rest of you day at Six Flags Great America." All I'm saying is that our park is losing it's identity (placing rides in areas the don't belong like Superman in Orleans and V2 in Yankee Harbor, getting rid of signature rides like Skywhirl, eliminating most traces of the "Great America" name or logo inside the park, and now removing the name from the ride annoucements), and it looks to me like the start of a rebranding.

Umm, sorry. I still don't ever remember hearing "Six Flags Great America". Maybe on some of the smaller rides. Or the rides from the Marriott days? I don't know, maybe I'm wrong.

They have always just said "Enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags." The ride ops are the ones who said SFGAm.

Totally Untrue and really a stupid way to start rumors in the forum. Skywhirl? seriously, an over sized ferris wheel vs. Deja Vu... let me think for a second on which one id rather go on. As for the remark that Six Flags is taking down anything that is related to the "Great America" name, I point to a few obvious things that totally discredits that idea.1. American Eagle and Demon, where there prior to the 80s take over of Great America by Six Flags. If anything they would have already renamed those rides. (Yes, i know about Demon being named "The Turn of the Century" in 1976 when it opened.2. The Orbit, If you ever notice, the center circle of the Orbit ride, has "Great America" right in the center of the ride. The Logo is Pre- 1980's take over and would have obviously been taken out if there was a rebranding.3.The names of the areas in the park.. i.e. Orleans,Southwest Territory, While you really have to think about this, but those names are synonomus with "America" think about it for a second. Then if you disagree open a U.S. History book.4. In this post 9/11 day and age we live in. What better way for a company like Six Flags to call one of there premire Theme Parks...Great America....It doesnt take a marketing major to figure that one out.Nothing personal to the person who posted the notion of there being a rebranding. But that really upset me. Foolish very Foolish, but you have the right to your own opinion. no matter how askewed it is.... (j/k)

Just beacuse SF is taking out some of the Marriott themeing and such doesnt mean that SF is trying to get rid of it all together.

You couldnt be more right. And that post was really ticking me off. And while im not trying to bash the person who took the time to type up his well thought of idea, i just cant beleive a person would think that way.

They always used "Six Flags". The Reason they use "Six Flags" is because it saves money. They do not have to hire someone to record their voice for each individual park and each individual ride.Beside many people do not even know that there is more then 1 Six Flags Park and if they know there is more then 1, they think they are all called “Six Flags Great America” or whatever park is close to them.Carlo

welcome to the boards Carlo, i hope you find these forums enjoyable and i hope you can add to the few intelligent souls on this sitei totally agree with carlo, and galvan316, and etc..now back on subject, My girlfriends earing got ripped off on superman yesterday (i still cnat figure out how) but it was bleeding pretty bad and she went to guest relations to get a bandaid or something and they gave he 5 TICKETS FOR FREE ADMISSION, so seeing that we both have season passes she went to the park this morning to give them away (shes so nice)

Sorry to cause such controversy. :? I don't want the name to be changed either... I'm just musing about things that I have thought about in the park, and thats all. ...But, by the same token, I think that a little more "Great American" themeing could only help the park....Anyways, back on topic, I'm going to GAm tomorrow, and am making sure to securely zip all my prized possesions into my cargo pants... I don't want to become another victim of loss!!!
