JPM: Supposedly Big Changes Coming for 2007 FF

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Chitown on January 4th, 2007, 4:46 am
Based on that character list, the new haunted house will be the Fun House in the Mardi Gras area.

Having Hurricane Harbor open for FF as a walk thru area will be a nice addition also.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

But will it be a cool walk-thru with only 5 people in the area? Doubt it.

I actually count 8 people roaming Hurricane Harbor, they just seperated the character list for "Haunted Harbor" in between the other areas. Looking at the list, you can see Haunted Harbor between Orleans and Troll Area, and again between Demon ride area and Yankee Harbor area.

Ok 5-8, Whatever it is it really depends on what area of HH they want to use. If its too big its not going to be good. But if its too small crowds will overwhelm it. It'll be interesting to see how they make it hard for me to work. :)

Where in Mardi Gras are they going to put the funhouse?

But this is pretty exciting, they sure are adding a lot for next year.

^They'll proly put it in the karaoki building (Its never open during FF).

^Huhh???

Karaoki building? That is a small stage in a corner. How is that going to fit a haunted house?

The Karaoke Building is small but right next to it behind the games is a somewhat large storage building where they store prizes for games. I not sure if the Karaoke Building and the Storage building are the same, but it appears they are connected to each other. They can use that building.

He means the old recording studio. And my guess for the house would be bayou grill. By the way V2guy I've been designing ideas for Hurricane Harbor as a fright fest walkthrough since 2004, and since JPM is using it this year, you're clearly not the only one who thought of it. Tone your ego down.

Also since the third house isn't in HH like I predicted I'm guessing the walk through will probably be from Carousel Plaza to Southwest. With one of the two groups in the superstition area and the other on the HH entrance Path. I would say the other way around but having guests enter that way will probably increase ridership on Superstition and Go-Karts. Plus more go-karts=more money. If it were the other way people may be running from scaracters and too busy to notice the entrance.

Also It seems characters are noticeably absent in HTS. I'm preying they do something cool with the train stage to make up for it, especially since I've heard our entertainment budget is through the roof this year.

A lot of that budget is going to go towards the Spy Girl show in the Amphitheater and last season we had a large budget... until it was cut midseason...

Did you see our fright fest shows this year? Best ever. I think we can look forward to a good year entertainment wise. Including said spygirl show.

Yes I saw nearly every showing of the closing fireworks/stage show and the daytime parades (I'm not off to see LAFF etc...) . I'm not saying it was bad at all, I'm just saying there were things that had to be changed/removed due to budget concerns. If this budget can stay as it is, I'm sure this year will be much better.

Hey, sorry binks, i was just makin a joke. You should upload your plans and post em so we can all get an idea!!!!

And also, yes i was talking about the storage area, i do believe they are connected. ANd if they're not, then im sure the doors are near each other and could easily be covered for a back and forth thing.

Wasn't JPM going to put out a press release or something on January 11th? Or did they decide just do tell everyone early by putting up the character list?

They did it early via the character list. That was what the press release was all about.

Hey guys, just thought I'd post that JPM updated their website. Hurricane Harbor will now be the home of a Heyride. Yankee Harbor will be "Sin City" The Third haunted house was cut. Several "Evil Jesters" were added to Mardi Gras as well as something called the hourly "Dead" Parade. Also there's a new group of characters "Your Horror Screen Test" No idea what that is, probably a show of some sort, maybe a green screen deal. Also the stilt walkers in Area 51 have been replaced with "Alien Robots".

Just thought I'd let everybody know!

I sure hope the "Your Horror Screen Test" is a show in place of the former hanging area. Its also interesting to see how they'll have HH as a Hayride. It sure will be a fun hayride if there are no characters there!

Where in Mardi Gras?
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
