Every time I've been at Six Flags, their has been a line for Rajun Cajun. I don't think that making it a dark ride will bring the public swarming to it, nor will themeing it. Did changing the themeing on Batman (cleaning it up a bit) increase ridership?
No because it wasnt that big of a change. However, i did notice that last year with the expansion of HH that that made EVERYTHING have longer lines. Hell, they had to put up an extra zig zag section behind the pretzel stand for batman it was so crowded. And i dont know why so many people like RC. It's really not that great.
I was upset they painted over all the graphitti. I can remember when Batman first opened, I had to stand in line allllllll the way past the entrance of the pretzel stand. But at least that graphitti gave me something to look at.
As for RC's crowds...I don't nessesarily think enclosing it is a good idea to bring more people. I personally think its a good ride, but it would be better if it was dark and themed.
Why did they paint over the graffiti on Batman? I thought it was great theming, and I always loved reading it while in line. As for the switchbacks behind the pretzel stand, they were there when Batman opened. The line used to go through those, around the Cajun Cliffhanger, and start out by where the Mardi Gras stage now is. It was a crazy long line back then.
The gate by Bayou Blowout and the Marti Gras stage is still there. Its no longer used since Jesters Wild Ride is in the way, so now its just used as a Restricted Area gate.

I had to wait in line there last year. It really was a long line back then. I can't imagine waiting in the tent for AE, that just seems to long.
i'm rocking the suburbs, just like quiet riot did...
If both sides are running 2 trains and cycling efficiently, the line is under an hour.

The change of Batman's scenery and paint scheme was an attempt to make the ride look less trashy and run down, and in my opinion, it was very successful and the ride has become more popular in turn.
As far as Ragin Cajun being enclosed, that would be interesting, to say the least. It is already a really crazy ride, so add in total darkness and you got a wild one. It always seems to have a long line, so making it indoors probably wouldn't make much of a difference in it's popularity. However, I think it would be nice to have another indoor attraction, it would be cool to see how it would play out if it happens. Great idea!!

Not a bad idea they can have a space theme for the ride so they wont have to scrap that big space shuttle. They could even make it a new a themed area about space add a couple of space theming, flat rides and roller coasters that would make that area usefull. Good idea.
I say they should keep it where it is, and make a whole building around it, like they already started doing. Also enclose the waiting lines as well. that my idea. Also have it in the dark with a space theme like the ideas you guys had. That whould be sweet.

To elaborate, you could make the structure strong enough to put the rocket on the roof and to stick with the Great America theming, the section could be themed around the florida area and the ride itself could be the Kennedy Space Center. The possibilities are endless!

Another idea for theming it i came up with, could be all sorts of neon and flashing lights and stuff. Something along the lines of Shake, Rattle , Roll in the USA section of SFOG.

I think they should most definetly enclose it. Its a good ride ride now, but would be much more exciting if it was dark. I wonder what they would do for security purposes though? Would it be dark while you're waiting in line?

It would probably be done the same as any dark ride. The ride is all dark with theming mixed in and the line will be all decorated and, of course, lit up.

Yeah...I was thinking it might be cool for it to be in total darkness for the actual ride part and maybe some dim lights in the waiting area for security. Or maybe even some black lights for the ride. I don't know, I'll leave it up to the designers.
