Staffing is because that ride requires more Ride Operators and it has a lower capacity. Deja Vu may only have I think four nessecary positions, while Raging Bull has I think five. But Raging Bull eats up more people.
From a mechanical stand point, these modifications you speak of were on the trains. They were all rehabed. I know ours had some damage last year to a few of the seats. And the fact that 8b just constantly was screwing it self over.
And right now, from what I understand only the Supervisors are allowed to run it right now. There has been no time yet for the Operators to be trained to run the ride. So it may be another week or two before State and Operator Tests are complete.
Hopefully they can keep it up the rest of the season!
It doesnt matter if it as a mechanical or staffing issue, the bottom line is the ride is down as often as it is operating, down a lot more than 25% over the operating season.
Of the 10-13 times it was at the park last year the ride never opened on time at all, alot of days never ran and on days it did it was down for some period of time every day. And when i read trip reports and spoke to other people who attended the park i heard similiar stores.
Hopefully the park will start to follow what Shapiro has said because a seasonal park shouldnt have what is supposed to be a marque attraction not open at the start of the season when they have over 6 months of the off season to fix trains or anything else that is wrong for the ride.
Its just too bad that the park invested in a ride that will never run on a consistent basis, and then when operating have such a low capacity as this ride does.
If that big green lawn ornament dont even run at all this season I say scrap it and use the metal green parts for a new bigger green coaster like Joker Jinx or maybe even a Riddlers Revenge or even a bigger green flat ride. Why bother wasting all that space if that ride is not even going to run all season long. Maybe it will start running on June will have to wait and see. Still what a big waste of time and money just to get it to work for the park eventhough it had all that problems it could cause a serious accident eventually costing the company even more.

You must have visited alot during Fright Fest then, because Vu ran good last year until October.
For the first time since it was built, it never broke down while I was in line for it last year, and I never heard the downtime spiel. That's saying alot since I probably rode it twice as much last year as I have in years past.

Shapiro take out Deja Vu?
Let me remind you....
There's this place called Six Flags Great Adventure.
And well...they are a lot like us right now.
They have a Big. Green. Blue. Lawn Ornament.
Now peak season is creeping up on us. And their Lawn Ornament isn't even open either.
And there's is the World's Tallest and Fastest Lawn Ornament! Now you think he would take that out?
Nope.
Maintence has had to rehab the trains, rehab catchar mechs, and rehab cable mechs.
That's a lot to do in 6 months. If you can do it faster, be my guest.
Don't go hating on maintence because they have been working their butts of to get this thing running.
The days i visited the park the ride NEVER opened on time( nor when other firends/family members visited), when it did open it(if it did) it later broke down for some period of time.
And FF is part of the regular operating season for SFGAM and must be counted as part of the the huge amounts of down time the ride gives it guests.
As for 6 months not being enough, how many parks build new rides duing the off season(like several that have recently opened) and yet they still cant get this ride to open??
It is either a awful ride that should be removed due to constant mechanical issues/ problems or SF isnt spending enough money to get the ride operational and keep it operational, i dont blame the mechanics who im sure are doing there best, it is a manegmement issue.
Hopefully SF will learn some lessons here and let other parks install proto-type rides and work the bugs out!! Build some more B & M 's which are always reliable .
The one in Illinois is not the problamatic coaster, it is problems at the other 3 that are causing shut downs at all of the installations. It is corporate offices fault for Illinois' to be the lasty to open, they sent the replacement parts(that don't even need to be replaced at the illinois location, but the manufacturer Vekoma mandated it needed to be done) to Illinouis last.

The Scoop on Friday: It was testing for sure. At first, they were working on getting the second catch car in place, and they finally did. Then they did like ten test runs during the day or so. The first one seemed to go good.
For the next two, it got stuck on the tower 1, so it had to come back down. Then, it started running perfectly again for another (let's say) 5 test runs. Then, it broke down on the other tower. It didn't catch it in the right place. They set it down reattached it, and it worked again. Then, the last (I think) test run worked out fine even though I was near the Hometown Fun Machine. The water dummies are still on it.
On a side note, they were testing King Chaos at the very end of the day, along with the blue engine on the tracks of the train.

In my opinion, he is right. They are pretty much ready with the ride. They were even training workers on Sunday during the entire day. The only thing to be done is more test runs, but it looks good for Saturday. The dummies are still on the train, and it was motionless today though.
If you want to compare another park, SFMM opened there Deja Vu the same day that they opened Tatsu which is there new ride. Our park will open Tornado while most likely Deja Vu will be open.
