The advertisement campaign before this one was snowing arial film of the park to some really up beat orchestra (think O'Fortuna) with the rides in sync (ex Water Ride splashing down in que with a big cymbol crash in the music).

I think Kyle or Dave has a copy of those.

Wow for a commercial that's suppose to be for six flags great america they sure show a lotta of stuff from magic mountain.
Isn't that one part where they circle the deja vu from ariel view the deja vu in magic mountain? 'Cause there's a wooden coaster next to it, Psyclone I'm guessing.

I think the candy girl costume is skimpier, "bad girl" if you will. The black "dress" looks like a wetsuit.

EDIT: Okay, the black dress is shorter than I first realized. So it looks more like a wetsuit without arms or legs. ;)

I like the Simple Plan one, too. That year, IMHO, was the best year for Six Flags Great America commercials. I also liked the one from 97 when Giant Drop premiered.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Yes there's trees but in the uncle kracker one and the tinoya (whatever it is) one you can clearly see a wooden coaster next to it.

I like those videos over the Mr. Six ones. They should keep making those commercials with stars. Now I finally know why they took Mr. Six off the air. But I miss him so much! :(

That commercial makes Great America look great. It's definitely better than the Mr. Six commercials.

That first one was good. It was way better than the Mr. Six ones. I don't know why everyone likes Mr. Six so much. Well anyways, Those views that they got of the coasters was awesome on the viper one and the V2 one it really looks like they get really close. They must have been in a helicopter and just zoomed in.

OMG, how did you find that video? That is my most favorite commercial that sixflags has ever shot.

I brought this video up in another forum awhile back and we were all discussing them...
didnt they shoot one with uncle cracker and he sang a song like " I dont wanna grow up..."? They had another artist as well, hmmm?

Willa Ford definatley had an awsomefirst impression on me at that time cause one, her song and herself was hot at the time and the coaster shots were amazing. The deja vu in the video is at SFOG however you can tell from the land plot.....

wow, amazing that you found that :D

^ Simple Plan sings the song called Grow Up, Uncle Cracker sang a different one.

The old commercials were excellent when it came to selling the park through great images of the coasters and good music. However, the reason why most people liked Mr. Six is because the old commercials focused on the coasters, whereas the Mr. Six ones appealed to people who like more than just the coasters and those who aren't really amusement park fans. In short, the old ones are better for us, but Mr. Six was better for the rest.
