How would you change SFGAm?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Well for one it would fit the theming again, which would be nice. Hell, if we play our cards right we might even be able to get the lighthouse back!

You dont have to get a shuttle loop to get good theme. Just rename V2 to Tidal Wave.

I would say the Space Shuttle building should be torn down, and that section made an expansion of Carousel Plaza. Then they can plop in five or six underrated flats, including a 'Power Tower' clone.

Hometown Square: Bring the old kiddie rides back into Hometown Park or move them to CCN or LTNP.

Southwest Territory: Re-theme the interior of the 'Waterin' Hole' to look like a Wild West saloon. Maybe plop in a flat or two by the cooling station.

County Fair: Rip out Splashwater Falls and insert a floorless, or move V2 back there.

Yukon Territory: LTNP definetely could use an expansion. Like maybe put at least SOMETHING in the empty spaces. The old Hometown Park rides would be a good choice, then they could be named "Porky's Fire Fighters" (the firetrucks), and Bugs Bunny Airlines (the airplanes). I miss the sound of the bells the kids used to ring on the firetrucks. I can't see much more that can happen in CCN or the Yukon Section itself.

Yankee Harbor:   This section used to be a good one, but now, it's so out of theme I don't know what to say. I'm glad New England Cafe offers fish for a snack but that only proves a slight recovery. I'd rather have V2 in the place of Splashwater Falls than where it is right now. I miss the old lighthouse which used to overlook Yankee and Yukon, the 'town square' nearby, and the former entrance to Yankee Clipper. I'd say lay off the Ice Mountain advertisement and rename this baby the way it was meant to be named. Re-theme Angelos to a seafood place like it was before, and move Whirligig back to its former location. That way the section can be divided and the 'Gotham City' can have its own section.

Mardi Gras: [Sigh] Leave it for now.

Orleans Place: OK, I understand the real reason why Shockwave was scrapped, but the S:UF could've been a better ride. I still miss Shockwave, but at least the Condor is back in operation. I really don't see anything much else happening here either.

There you have my opinion.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

A lot of the theming can be resolved by very simple solutions, here is what i would do.

Carousel Plaza: Why call it carousel plaza and expand the section away from the carousel? Carousel plaza should just be the enterance with the carousel

Great Lakes: Going on what i said earlier, a good portion of america is the great lakes. With the Roller Soaker i mentioned that should take the place of Stargate and Winner's Circle, i would turn that part of Carousel Plaza into the Great Lakes. If so, i would also rename Sky Trek Tower to be Windy City Lookout.

As far as the rest of the park, Ice Mountain Splash, Superman, and V2 need to be renamed/rethemed to fit there sections. Also, it can't cost TOO much money to throw in little theming items here and there. Look at Hurricane Harbor. Specifically in Orleans Place and Yankee Harbor, little elements of theming would make an improvement.

A Great Lakes section would be kinda cool. They could put Power Dive back in there and call it the Chicago Loop or something.

County fair's full name is "The Great Midwest Livestock Exhibition at County Fair" It was labeled that way in the 1976 park map and is still labeled that way on the Yukon/County Bridge.

I've just been scouring my picture collection, and cannot find a single one. So I guess I'll need to make that a priority this FF.

Why plop in a Great Lakes section when this region is already part of the Great Lakes? Then again, a little Lake Superior/Upper Peninsula theming wouldn't be bad. Yeah, right!

When was the last time that semi-section had a real theme? A decade? I have a few ideas which could fit the picture:

A Safari section: Sky Trek can be renamed 'The Watchtower', the Go Karts can be moved in place of Splashwater Falls for a kiddie 'Jeep Safari' and SSA can be taken out in place of a simulated Sahara excursion. In the ride, the tour guide notices something wrong and all kinds of dangerous creatures are in hot pursuit of your vehicle, veering you off the beaten path.

A Black Hills section: Mount Rushmore is a major monument of the USA so a replica wouldn't hurt. They could use the monument as a climbing wall. Then they can replace the existing wall with a flat. Plus, add more evergreens to the walkway. Then SSA could be torn down and replaced with a North Dakota/South Dakota walk-through exhibit.

A Hollywood section: Turn SSA into a Disney dark ride, re-theme Sky-Trek and add the "Hollywood" logo on top of it. Move the Go-Karts to County Fair and add more flats or a coaster. Oh yeah, I forgot. Fix up Power Dive and re-theme it.

This is fun. :D

1. Add a "Sylvester Mcmonkey Mcbeans Very unusual driving machines" style attractions to Yukon Territory themed to the looney Tunes.

2. Demolish the go karts and build a master blaster and maybe some type of speed slide.

3. Build a pair of "stingray" type slides on the hill with the sign with entrances near Saltwater Sals.

4. Make a special Mardi Gras parade that would play at like 2:00 or something every summer day where they throw beads and such.

5. Put a Looney Tunes Show in the Grand Music Hall.

6. Hire more Park Services employees to just work bathrooms.

7. Get SWAT from Astro World and put it somewhere is southwest territory and name it Rodeo.

8. Put in a floorless in mardi Gras. On the hill where Shockwave used to be also around that lake. Name it "Magnifique" and put it's entrance where the Amazing Alfredeux is now.

9. Re-theme Yankee Harbor to New York Harbor. attempt to bring in some Gothum-y themeing to the batman area. As well as adding some Hot dogs stands and big city stuff.

10. Attempt to get a bigger budget for fright fest. Add more haunted housese and seriously expand the creature crew. (See my "Fright Fest Creatures" thread in the off-topic forum.

11. Put some kind of Show in the Wilderness Theatre. I liked Kachunga and the divers (At least part of that show) one of them should go there next season.

12. Add shades to RC's line.

13. Get some live entertainment for lines. Characters etc... In batman you could get some people to dress as batman and villains. Same with Sups. With flats you could get some toons. Put some D.J.s in lines. Some kind of Southwest-y show in Bulls and Vipers Lines. etc...

14. Put the demon song back!

15. Add more uncommon looney tunes to our daily list. Petunia, Penelope, Hector, Etc...

16. Add a Scooby doo's ghostblasters somewhere in the park. Possibly in Carousel Plaza.

17. Put actual Imax Movies in the Pictorium.

18. Put a magic Style show in theatre Royale.

There's more but I'm too tired.

Carousel Plaza: who ever came up with the safari idea, I think that's really cool. You chould rip out the go-karts and stick a safari ride (kinda like Rhino Run @ BGT) but fake animals, where they were. Fake crocs in the entry pool would be SWEET! The carousel could have jungle animals in it, too.

Hometown Square: Clean up the pond under Whizzer. Tear out the fun machine and replace it w/ some other thrilling flat.

Southwest Territory: More shading over Viper que. Somehow make Giant Drop like a Power Tower at CP, so the line would move faster.

County Fair: Actually make it like a carnival, but with nice rides. Tear down AE's tent (it's not like it's ever used) and get Tidal Wave from SFAW and put it there.

Yukon Territory: Get rid of Looney Tune's National Park and put in a B&M floorless. Keep Camp Cartoon Network, but make it seem more like a Wilderness camp. Re-name Logger's Run w/ something to relate to that...

Yankee Harbour: Bring back Batman ORIGINAL theming, and make that whole section Gotham City. Re-name V2, and logger's Run...

Mardi Gras: Rip out Jester's, use that space to re-arrange the WHOLE section, so that RC's line could have more room, shade, and misters. Re-name Roaring Rapids to Jester's Rapids.

Orleans place: (cough!!!) I think this should be a section devoted to Superman. People get the name of this section confused w/ Mardi Gras.

That's all (I can think of) Folks!!!
If you don't like Raging Bull, forget ALL abou SFGAm!!!

Gotta say I don't either.

Concerning the wilderness theatre. It's behind CCN. Go for FF and you will see it if you go through necro.

Those ideas were good, but they just don't match the park at all! I think they need to focus on keeping it clean more than anything else. Adding THAT much theming wouldn't make the park feel the same. And forget about Tidal Wave under AE's tent...

There's no way it'll fit.

New one from me:
Tear down Viper (re-locate it) and put in a B&M Floorless or an X-Car Coaster.

I think this would look awesome for FF, mainly the contrast and it might make you dizzy as its spins around. I would change all the lights on Carousel to those black lights and the stage lights to red. That would look so awesome, ecpesially at night.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

Good thing you said "re-locate" Viper. You had me scared there for a second. I personally think it's fine right where it is. It could definately use a bit more shading though, as could RC & V2.

I still say take out the karts and simulator and throw up a Floorless there. Or maybe there's enough room over by/in the employee parking lot to put something else in, like maybe a small X-car or a 4-D coaster.
