that sounds about right, because memorial day - labor day is the warmest time of the year, unless they make the park open June - August or June - Sept or something. Who knows. I know more information is being released in JANUARY

You are right when i got my 2005 season pass on october 31st we asked the lady and she said that the plan on opening it Memorial day - labor day but the opening of the park will all depend on weather.
Do you think that there will be more of "Coasters after Dark" This year?? Will they do "Slides after night"?? I would love to see water park in lights up to 11p.m. The water would be shinning. AWSOME!
IT WILL BE FINISHED. IF YOU HAVENT NOTICED? THE CAMERA IS REALLY FAR AWAY FROM THE WERE THERE BUILDING. IF YOU WOULD READ THE STATEMENT UNDER THE WEBCAM LINK IT SAYS, THEY ARE BUILDING THE WAVEPOOL. WHICH IS IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE WEBCAM PICTURE. SO YES, THERE ON SCHEDULE.
So, I had something to add, but then I quickly forgot what I was going to say because all the CAPITAL LETTERS MADE MY EYES HURT.
Why must you guys yell at each other like toddlers? Don't you think that everyone would get their points across better if people didn't YELL LIKE THIS? But instead, just typed, like this?
Okay, back on topic. Here's my thinking.
Coasters are built in the winter all the time. They use a lot of cement if I am not mistaken. Why would a waterpark be any different? So, I just don't see the weather being an important factor in the big picture. Maybe I am a moron, but I would think that a water park is probably easy to build. (well, if you are a professional and know what you are doing I mean). And it has been said over and over that the waterslides go up rather quickly and easily.
So, the construction as a whole doesn't worry me much. I think if that were the only factor HH would be ready to go by the time the weather is right for swimming.
However. This is Six Flags we are talking about. When are they ever on time? There is probably a lot of politics, paperwork and greed involved. As there usually is with most major construction. (I have been jaded by Mayor Daley, incase you can't tell).
*sigh* okay. I am done. I could go on, but this is long and I quit.
(edited to say: The English major in me is DYING here, trying not to get all grammatical on people. Wow. Amazing)

Even with alot of lights, very few if any waterparks are open after dusk, there are safety issues, lifeguards need very good visibility to do their job.
I'd assume or at least hope Coasters after dark continues, however with more days than last year.

Well Magic Waters does what is called "Wet Wednesday" where the park reopens from 6:30-9:30 and you get about an hour in the dark. It is pretty neat, but I don't know how late Six Flags will want to keep HH open.

I agree here. I used to be a lifeguard for a Youth Camp and when camp
administrators would have us open the lake after dusk, it made it very
hard to lifeguard. We did have some good lighting, but we couldn't see
what was going on under water. It was like looking at a mirror.
So, I really doubt that we will see HH open after dusk. Mainly cause of the
saftey factor!

even with the lighting i really dought that six flags will have a 'slides after dark' i dont know why, i just dont see it happening. but what do i know
EDIT: Stupid thing. it double posted. so ill change this one. does anyone know if they will still have a seperate entrance to HH? or just have it so that you enter SFGA and then walk into HH? cause if you look at the map for six flags st. louis (whic has hh free with park admission) i dont see a seperate entrance outside the actually SF park. i see once you enter the SF park there is a path or 2 into HH. but ive never been there. thats just what the map looks like.

i dont see it happening either. even with super suffiecent lighting you would think it would be a saftey hazard. but i hear there doing more then 3 coasters after dark this year. i cant wait. i already have my season pass. im so excited. I HAD A DREAM about six flags. they moved the go cart track to somewere else but now i cant remember. i remember in the dream they removed the go carts to put the HH pathway were the go carts were. now if i could only remember were the go carts were moved to.
i hate dreams. you can sometimes only remember some or none at all,
anyway
So the water park at Six Flags America is Converting to a Hurricane Harbor? What was it before that i dont remember?
Slides after dark could happen I meam why not? There is no saftey hazards, there are plenty of water parks that are open til 10 or later on occasions. I have been to several private parties at water parks and they lasted until 10:30 when it was well past dark. At the one I went to there wasn't much lighting by some of the slides and it made it so much cooler, water slides at night own. Also, water parks in say Wisconsin Dells stay open until 10 or later at almost every big water park for another example. To lay it all down there is no hazard, will it happen? I doubt it but there really isn't anything keeping them from doing it.
I think I remember SfStl doing one before. And yes, waterslides at night OWN!(Splashblaster in complete darkness, better than many of my favorite roller coasters!)
