Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Don't expect it to be. Wow, Some of us thought that they were going to open just for CAD then Brian the front of the line guy said maybe then it never opened. Oh-well. It pissed everyone off that the best ride in the park isn't open for CAD AGAIN. Can we shoot for three times?
Watch out theres a new Hurricane in Gurnee, IL!

Haha I was there when somebody said that they were going to open for CAD, but I didn't want to wait and went to Raging Bull then came back and there was the unhappy sign of "THIS RIDE WILL NOT OPEN TODAY"

DejaVu was closed all day today(7/22/04) or at least until 4. It most likely didn't open today at all.
They were testing a lot starting around 12. Then the brakes after the station slowed the train and it stopped for 5 minutes. Then more extensive testing with maintenance. Then the funniest(well not really) thing happened. The ride made it all the way through the course caught the catch car at the end then started to go down. Then there was a loud sound and then there was a cracking noise and the train bolted to a stop. A big cloud of smoke came from the cables. The ride stopped testing for the day.

Trip report from 7/21-7/22 coming tonight.

I hope not. I think that's what was wrong with SFOG's Deja Vu this year, that kept it down from March through the end of May. :(
Finally Coaster Season!!

Yeah, it could open up tomorrow as far as I know. They did get the train back into the station, so maybe it's not a blown cable motor? Though it was the first thing that came to my mind. It is definatley something to do with the cable and/or the motor. For Hispanoway, it was just a puff of smoke and then it stopped. It wasn't smoking for longer than 5 seconds. It was weird.

Wow, that sounds interesting. Doesn't sound good whatever it was... I'm hoping it wasn't anything too serious, I would hate for one of my favorite rides to be down much longer.

I'm not sure how serious it was(or if it is normal?) but there was at least 8 people around the ride when I left the area.

Today it was cycling over and over and over and over and over again until afternoon, I saw a person on it once (not sure if it was maintenence or lead/supervisor). In the afternoon it stopped cycling and maintenence started working on it. I left at 5.

I knew the motor didn't go out because they did get the train back down. The ride is a total piece of you know what. It has the weirdest noise and it can't work properly.

Now I think the thing that happened was normal and that the ride just sucks(maintenance wise), not ride wise. I still don't know why smoke came off of the ride when it jolted.

I was on IW today and I passed D Vu to get to it. There were two workers guarding the entrance. This was around 7:30. I saw smoke from IW by the D Vu tower. After that, the workers left.

The only reason they're out there is to keep a line from forming when it's cycling.

I was there yesterday. I saw workers in the station. But i never saw any smoke. What do you think the smoke was from. They really should just rebuild the whole ride. They would probly save money.
