Problems with Vertical Velocity

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby yeti_cat on July 6th, 2004, 10:39 pm
After having gone to six flags everyday last weekend, hoping to get on every coaster, and V2 being down, I asked the guy standing there about it. He said that it should be back up by the end of the week. Regular mantinence (sp) so it seemed from his tone. I don't think there are any parts missing because I asked about that specifically, knowing that some of the other rides had at some point, been missing peices. But he said to come back at the end of the week, so, I'm not sure how much you can trust the guy that stands there at the queue, but that's all I got.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.

I have favorites so I probably would go on D Vu, V2, BTR, SUF, Demon, and IW more than once. Viper once. When the park seems unbearable, I run to my flats: Condor, Orbit, Fiddler's Fling, Chubasco, Ricochet, Whirlgig, Big Easy Balloons, now Triple Play again, East River Crawler, and maybe Hometown Fun Machine.

The other smart choice is to go to lunch. And when it's hot, I go to the yellow raft ride. I guess I don't care if I've been on them a lot, I want to keep on going on them over and over and over again.

I will go on anything twice, as long as the wait is bearable (75 mins or less), otherwise I will go to the arcade and play DDR.

Now that DejaVu is back up and running for what we hope will be the rest of the summer .

As of July 7th you are wrong about that. Deja Vu vallyed in its boomerang.
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu

Give the author a break. It's not easy writing topics.

With Deja Vu down that just means V2 will be up very soon, it's Six Flags warning us that it's about ready to open.

Yeah, I doubt Tim Black will let two of the most popular rides stay down for too long.

I dont think that both rides will be down for too long, give V2 a few more days and Deja Vu a maximum of a week

When you say it valleyed, do you mean that it got stuck?

Good thing V2 will be up again soon. I'm glad I went on June 19th, and rode it then, because it sounds like it closed not to long after.
Finally Coaster Season!!

From what I heard, someone who was at the park yesterday said that V2 was testing, but it wasn't using the holding brake and that the first set of seats on the train were missing. :?

It probably didn't use the holding brake because it didn't make it up to the brake because it didn't have enough speed with the missing set of seats, just a guess.

I was there yeesterday and it was using the holding brake and the whole train was in tact, whoever told you otherwise was wrong. I asked the op that was standing out by the "This Ride Will Not Open Today" sign when it would be up and she said hopefully tommorow, which happens to be today. My brother is at the park today so I will ask him if it was running or not when he gets back at about 10:30.

When I was last on it when it was open, I noticed that the harnesses didn't want to lock for a little bit. I usually sit in the front of the train.
