I noticed that on LR there is a permanent rail mounted to the channel (or whatever you want to call it) blocking the left drop as you go down. If anyone know what I'm talking about, am I right, and does it have anything to do with (I'm assuming) having only one camera and they want all the boats to pass by it? On very crowded days, the boats get backed up at the top of the drop since only one is open, but it was originally designed to run two.
The only reason why I see that they have two sides was to make it faster, but they realized that it doesn't so they don't do it anymore. I've never been on the other sides.
I might sound stupid asking, but what's a band? Is this the lift?

Thanks.
I guess that's why the Logger's Run was refurbished because they broke.

Maybe, it has to do with Logger's Run making people get more wet than on IMS. The way I think of it, the water slows down on the bump, and then speeds up to make you get real wet. With IMS is just goes straight down, so you don't get extra wet.
For an example, Racing Rapids has a tan water slide. At the end of the ride, the water that is in back of you pushes you forward. You don't get that wet because it is not a big weighted log.

No, Racing Rapids a waterpark in Dundee. I guess you can compare any water slide to how Logger's Run works. It's my theory at least.

So, why do you get more wet on Logger's Run? Is the bump and my theory correct, or do you have one of your own?

I'd have to disagree with the whole "you don't get wet on IMS" becuase I have been on it numerous times this year, and it got me just as wet as LR. Sometimes it depends on how you disperse the weight in the boats.
Of course, if you want to be drenched....there's Splaswater Falls.
Last year I would have to disagree with you, but now it seems like people are getting more wet on this ride.
Since everyone seems to be talking about painting things, it would be great if they painted IMS darker blue (all of the ride, except boats and the concrete you can't paint), and Logger's Run darker brown (same thing). This way they can be noticed better, and it would be easier to tell them apart (Yes I know, LR has bump, IMS does not).

They probably could, but they didn't paint it green when they put it up like the rest of it.

I think the reason that you don't get as wet on IMS is that there is more protection. Think about the design on the front of the boats. IMS has a big curved ship-like front with a bigger pad. Logger's has a small log front that says "GREAT AMERICA" in Marriott's colors and has a much smaller pad. Anyone else notice this?
Anyone else notice that since Clipper has the big drop it speeds RIGHT OVER the water .
Anyway I think they should be painted blue track with grey supports like Paramounts.
I never thought of that, that's a good explanation. Do you have a picture of the one at Paramount? I still have to say that they should be painted different colors (LR and IMS).
