•WHAT: Show us your biggest SCREAM face! Post a photo or video of you screaming as though you were on Great American Scream Machine at http://www.facebook.com/sixflagsgreatadventure. Guests that shoot a SCREAM video or include patriotic items are more likely to be chosen as winners. There is no limit to the amount of entries. Winners will be announced July 15, 2010. Be creative, have fun and keep it clean

•WHY: To make room for a new attraction in 2011, we’re celebrating Scream Machine with the send off it deserves!
•Event Details:Guests invited to the event will receive ERT (exclusive ride time) from 10 p.m.-11 p.m. Seats on the front and back row of the last train of the last ride (dispatched at 11 p.m.) will be auctioned off; other seats during the last ride will be $50 each—details TBA—and all proceeds will benefit the NRCMA (National Roller Coaster Museum & Archives)!
Still NO confirmation it is Chang they have planned. None.

I even said I think GASM would be removed but there is ZERO proof still regarding Chang being moved to GADv.

Agreed. Doesn't matter whether or not you were right, you treated our members like pieces of garbage and didn't respect anyone who didn't share your opinion. I don't care if certain people on the board aren't correct all the time, what I care most about is that we RESPECT each other, and I haven't seen this kind of crap since I joined when I was 14. Fourteen year olds respect each other better than this. Take your "victory" and leave.

I've been lurking this forum for a good year or so now, and finally decided to join. I'm not really upset that we didn't get Chang, I didn't really want it in the first place. I definately think that our park needs a new coaster, but I feel that standups are outdated, and would rather have something else. I would also like to say that I don't feel jealous if Chang ends up at GAdv, what I don't like is that they're tearing down Scream Machine to replace it. I feel that GASM is a much more fun and intense ride, but that's just my opinion.

You're right, when I was talking about the replacement, that's why I said IF Chang replaces GASM. I would be happy enough if Chang stayed here, but I personally would rather see a different type of ride than Chang. I think it's an unrealistic idea that they would convert Chang to floorless, but if they did I'd be a lot happier with it coming to our park than I would with it as a standup. This is why I'd prefer a different coaster over Chang, but trust me, I'll be 100% satisfied with ANY new coaster at this point.

Ok. I clicked on that link, and this is what I get
But, I did see the post from onyxhotel08 a few posts after that, and then went to the main page for SFGAdv on facebook, and saw lots of comments on its removal, and followed the link to the removal contest.
While we now have confirmation that GASm is leaving, there is still no confirmation that Chang will be its replacement. We will have to see how that pans out, as well as when SFGAdv will announce what will replace it.
Keep in mind that parks may not replace an attraction right away. Take SFGAm for example. Deja Vu's spot was empty a full season. Splash Water Falls area is STILL empty. So, just because something is leaving, that does not guarantee that something will fill that spot in the next season. Just trying to keep things in perspective here is all. I for one will be watching to see how this all turns out for SFGAdv, as well as what they will get in that spot.
EXACTLY. Coasters and attractions get removed all the time. Majority of that time they are NOT replaced right away. What we have is Chang pieces at our park. As of now, they do not. We have room already. They won't for another 2-3 months. Which puts Chang's potential construction in jeopardy. Or at least behind schedule. Chang, no matter where it ends up, needs construction to begin by October-November. Possible? Yes. Very tight? Yes. It is also possible we still get Chang for 2011 and they get a kids section or some flat. GASM can be replaced by anything. Not just Chang.
Brian and Onyx make great points. I for one still believe we are the most likely park to get Chang for right now, since we're the only park to have pieces of the ride on site. It'll definately be interesting to see what happens, that's for sure!

Hey guys, Scream Machine will close July 18 to make room for a major new attraction in 2011
That was a direct quote from Six Flags Great Adventure's Facebook page said by Six Flags Great Adventure so some kind of attraction will take its place next year. I don't know if it's Chang or not though, only time will tell.

There might have been. Keep in mind that was taken on June 20th and today is now July 6th so there is a gap from when I took that picture and from when you looked back at the track yesterday.
I am going to try to get a better picture when I go again but I can't guarantee it will come out any clearer. I might go again this weekend, but I have to see if any friends are up for heading out there.
