I'm hoping they are saving that area for a future B&M 4D sometime down the road. X2 would fit in there and Demons spot.

But now I ask. Why DON'T we deserve a new coaster? Our park has a 'world class' water park, and yet we still get additions on the dry side of water type. The last thing we need is a new water or family ride.

"The water park hits capacity nearly everyday."

Shouldn't that be all the more reason to add more on the dry side? People don't find the dry park compelling enough, so they need to go into the water park. Adding something will only make it hit capacity faster. And I don't believe Hurricane Harbor crowds have decreased one bit since it opened.

"Shapiro neglected other parks."

Well Whoopdedoo. I've been saying this all along. How can he NOT neglect parks? His company was in bankruptcy, he's not going to go around and build $10 million scream machines in parks that don't need that sort of thing. Our park hadn't received a single thrill ride in years. He was finally going to give us one, and here comes mister interim CEO, and pulls it right out from underneath our feet.

Splash Water Falls is going to be another extremely hard spot to fill, just like trailblazer. Small compact area. Hell, the only good use right now is a splashdown spot for a dive coaster. And that's definitely not happening.

Though it would have sucked just as bad, I would have left SWF standing until I was ready to replace it. I mean it would have leaked sometimes and all but that area is the worst looking thing the park has and right in th emiddle of County Fair.

Not only is the giant hole bad, but the bad smell from raceway.

This 4D rumor has been around for TOO LONG. Give it a rest.

Have you seen X2 in person? It is massive, there is no way it could fit anywhere inside of SFGAm [not saying they can't build it, but definitley not in the middle of the park].

Not in this lifetime. They see us as a park with no competition so no real threat to the #'s...for now.

Yes, I've ridden it. I looked at a same scale satellite image of both parks and I believe it would fit. It's big, but I've been on rides that take up a lot more real estate than that.

I agree, but in 3-5 years Intamin or B&M could have a 4D ready.

I'm not starting a rumor. There WILL come a day when the 4D is not exclusive to Magic Mt. in this country. Some of the bigger parks will have one. Hopefully ours will.

No, that rumor started YEARS ago on Screamscape. Everyone has been going nuts over it. Great America cannot fit a 4D, get over it. We can't even fit Chang for that matter.

Mr. Freeze being taken away lead to Raging Bull, correct? Hell, if this is following the same trend we might get the world's tallest coaster as compensation.

The new Premier launched coasters had legitimate problems that needed to be addressed before even thinking of building another one. Notice how often Chiller was down, was re-profiled, and eventually removed.

So many on here did nothing but complain about Chang. Used, stand-up, nothing special, destroys the entrance plaza, etc. so many of you guys should be thrilled.

The people that didn't want chang are now angry because we didn't get it. The only people that can ligitrmatly be unhappy are those that supported the rumor from the hay days.

I thought the park had something with Gurnee that said there will not be anything taller than Sky Trek Tower? If that's the case, that means the park cannot have the world's tallest coaster. Doesn't exclude the park from getting some kick ass ride though.

Since jersey is like an hour or two ahead of most of us, I wonder if anyone there would give a heads up to others on their facebook pace about the closing.

How do you know David?

Seriously, please cool it on all these wild assumptions all the time. We are basing everything on some screamscape reports.

If SFGAdv gets Chang fine whatever, but saying "ITS GOING TO HAPPEN TOMORROW.... IT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW.... BLAH BLAH BLAH" The only people who know are high level park management and upper management of Six Flags.

BTW: If Great Adventure where anything like Great America, they'd at least have some sort of "get your last rides in because GASM, is closing" just like with Whizzer before Superman was installed.

At this point we have no idea whatsoever whats going to happen with Chang or any other coaster for that matter.

As of right now, GASM is still on the Six Flags website and I also think it is open today. So there goes one rumor down the toilet, but again we have to sit and wait. Although six flags did say that GASM's closing on July 1st was a rumor and if it did happen it wouldn't be for a couple months.
"Park staff later claimed that they were offered a hundred bucks a pop to try to the slide, but refused after seeing that test dummies often emerged on the other end dismembered. The looping slide was actually closed down for most of the park’s life due to these injury concerns."

I realize the way I worded that was quite dick-ish. I meant, Today (according to the rumors) is the last operating day. Tomorrow will be the day we know.
