^ We'll have to wait for the announcement on whatever is going on with County Fair Games Gallery, but in my opinion, I thought that area was way too cluttered, especially around Revolution's exit.
Some Photo's of LITTLE DIPPER Construction are up on the Six Flags Great America Facebook Page! Looks like it is indeed going where the building and Net Jungle Thing was in Bugs Bunny National Park
I am surprised that they didn't do any shots of SWF area. So are the Go Karts gone from their prior space? I cannot tell form the SSA removed picture as I cannot figure if they would be visible from the photographers vantage point. I would think that the loading station would be visible in that picture.

For the GoKarts I think the station is or would be just out of view.
For Whirligig I believe they tear it down just about every year down to the stem which is also probably just out of view. The stem is just a vertical I beam with a kink at the top. I can see alot of wet snow resting on top of the ride being a bad thing, the top is just canvas, then under that there is nothing til the scenery panels, if a foot of wet heavy snow accumulated on top, it'd probably rip the ride apart down to the framework.

I don't think so at all. It's because Dark Knight was advertised as being from the movie, and who is supposed to see that movie (13 and up - PG-13). They didn't really say what it was (what type) because it's indoors. This is a ride called the Little Dipper, and people know where it came from if they went to Kiddieland, and it's going to be advertised as a more toddler / kid coaster instead of a teenage ride.
As for kids rides in the past, yes we have gotten Mardi Gras (3 kids rides), we have gotten that Spy show, Buccanneer Battle, Wiggle's World, and now the Little Dipper, BUT for the thrill people, you got the waterpark (There are some thrilling rides in there like Bahama Mama, and Wahoo Racers, and maybe the body slides.), and another year they added the Tornado for the waterpark plus what about King Chaos, Revolution the Ride (Sure, some can say like me that they are boring rides, but that's who they are really for - thrillseekers), and soon we are going to get Chang.
To me, the Dark Knight is fun, and thrilling.
To me, I'm fine with them putting in more toddler rides, but go for more dark rides instead of something the park already has.

eww did u guys see the way the Dipper station looked? Saw some pics on facebook and that paint job will not look good at the park unless they decide to take the brushes out. You can definitely tell it is a 60 year old ride. And if I go to the park this summer and are no coaster enthusiast, Dipper will scare me away!
Might also want to replace the top layer of wood too as chunks were missing closing day. I know as I found 2 pieces by the arcade that was waiting to get framed.
About DK, I actually agree with you and the second time I rode it was certainly better than the first.

Not a whole lot of new info in the article itself. They did talk to one of the mechanics that was working on rehabbing the cars. They are looking at getting new upholstery in the cars. The article also includes a photo of one of the cars being rehabed, with no upholstery in the first row, and new bright orange seatbelts visible. You can also see a Viper car and a Ragin' Cajun car in the background.
Chitown wrote:^It's probably more to do with insurance.
I'm not doubting you at all, but did Kiddieland have some other kind of insurance? Small park vs. big park? I mean it was operating without a seatbelt and only the buzz bar for over 50 years.

^I believe this was discussed in another topic and possibly Kyle or Josh can clue us in more, but it is I believe an insurance issue. Obviously SFGAm and Kiddieland had different insurance companies.
Personally, it doesn't need the seatbelts as you stated, the ride ran without them for over 50 years, but you have to follow what is stated in the policy.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
