I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think we all need to be patient and let RMC fix all this. I'm just as excited as everyone else and I won't ride if it isn't safe and we don't want this to be a Son of Beast (Very unlikely but you never know and that might of been overboard but I'm just trying to prove a point). It sort of alarmed me during that first test when the wheels were screeching, something flew out of the coaster car and it made me a bit anxious. Now this has happened plus all of the numerous delays with the coaster. It's getting rushed along, silly mistakes like this are happening, people are getting frustrated and we all just need to wait, relax and maybe just not think about it for a while. RMC is working SO hard and I have so much respect for them. Maybe we should all just see what happens before jumping to conclusions. The ride will open when it opens and if anything, looking at this in a positive way, the hype will just keep building up. We all just have to enjoy this journey no matter what the circumstances because the end result WILL be great!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvHUSgKz2HQ That is a link to a video that I took while I was at the park yesterday. I was by the Wilderness Theatre when I recorded it. You don't get a view of the dive loop from there unfortunately, but you do get a good view of the tunnel.
Im sure the zero g stall will be a pocket robber. Coasters can do that. Loose article bin, lockers, non riders, zipper pockets, or a fanny pack will stop your phone from being in the next example box. (I have a phonein RBs box)
^Yep. This is going to be a coaster where I will be wearing shorts with zipper pockets and a strap for the glasses. The only other coaster at the park where I secure everything is with Superman. Actually, the one time I rode X-Flight, I had Mike Galvan hold most of my stuff because of the first inverted drop.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I have my solution for the loose articles problem, zipper pockets. On a side note, how in the hell did you lose a cell phone on RB Jim? RB doesn't go upside down.
Aah the wonders of the world. Last year I missed Repiv and screams and dreams vol 3. Now this year I will be missing Goliath and screams and dreams WTF?!? All you people be glad that the coaster is going up and you will be riding it soon. I wont be riding much of anything this year. All your anger about it goin up slow compare that to the anger of someone getting F'd out of going completely for the second year in a row. I won't even be visiting a gdmn carnival. Wont be doin much of anything this summer either. My Summer's over
So with all the ongoing discussion about delays and ride structure problems with the overbank, when do you guys think the ride may open? I thought the park wanted to release new dates last weekend? Are they still aiming for a June,13th opening?
A lot of people here obviously have not worked in anything related to construction of any kind. There are always variables that can't be accounted for in new types of construction whether it be a building, a bridge or in this case, a new design such as Goliath. The biggest difference between a coaster (or other ride) and a building project is that a building can open before it's finished. A coaster or ride cannot.
In my 20 years at the University of Iowa and other institutions, I've only seen a handful of buildings or projects 100% complete by the scheduled project completion date.
We can speculate all we want, place blame on the park for starting the project late, place blame or RMC, place blame on RMC's subcontractors or suppliers, or anyone else, but what does that solve?
I'm 50+ years old and have seen rides from every manufacturer and every park operator open late over the years. Some appear to have a short memory. Six flags does it, Cedar Fair does it, Paramount did, Disney does, Universal does, and on and on.
Sure it's frustrating to look at a coaster that appears to be complete and not have it open. It's pointless to bad mouth anyone you can think of just because you can't ride a coaster when you want to. I can't tell you how many trips I made over the years to ride Top Thrill Dragster and in particular, ride all of the Deja Vu rides. They had more downtime than uptime in the first years of operation.
The only people I see having an issue with this are the one time park patrons that have visited the park before the coaster opens. To all the pass holders, who gives a crap? You will frequent the park when the coaster opens and plenty of times after it opens. Stop being tools.

This clearly shows me, how great of anticipation SFGAm build around the coaster. Everyone is so hyped about the coaster, that one more delay and people's head will start to explode. HAHA
I must say great job Six Flags! You did it right.
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!

Rob, where are your amazing photos?! I gotta see the whole layout from the employee lot! LOL I cant get to the park so I'm callin you out! ;D
Ok, well I didnt read most of those posts you're all talkin about but it sounds like you guys had some drama llama fun with a user! As many have said, it will open when it opens & when it does, it will be here for YEARS to come. At that point all of these delays & issues will be the blink of an eye in our lifetime & you'll no longer care. People were complaining that XFlight wasn't open when it was already built by opening day, tested etc but look, how many times have you been on it now? That little postponed opening XF had doesnt matter anymore. Either will Goliath's come July of 2014 or May of 2016. Lets breath. We have all summer to GO BIG!
Just wanted to make note that we had a member on here that was derailing the conversation, he has been banned, his posts and all replies have been deleted. I apologize if I deleted anyone else's post's that were unrelated accidentally.

I hate to even throw this out since we know the front line employees don't always have the best information. BUT, on Sunday while I was inside Thrillseekers one of the retail supers was telling the gal working inside that the ride has to be open by June 11. I have no idea why or what the significance of that date is.
Take that with a grain of salt. Just repeating what I overheard.
Just something to keep in mind, Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City had the entire summer to be built. We are definitely on a tighter timeline than that, but these projects take time. I know that the users who were saying all of the stupid stuff have since been removed but I just wanted to throw that thought out there for anyone who is still frustrated.

I feel like the park keeps employees up to date on things like these. I feel we give park employees too little credit. Of course they won't know what the new ride is next year, but I feel with stuff like this the park wants to keep employees up to date so they can relay accurate info to park guests. Of course there is no way to know for sure, but I'm willing to bet 11th is a date the park is shooting for. It would match up pretty nicely with how much stuff they still have to get done. This is also construction however and as we've seen dates can change
I used to work at the park and trust me when I say we didn't get much more info then the public gets. We'd get a window at most. By window I mean "Mid-June" or "After memorial day" or something of the sort. Employees can't be trusted when it comes to leaking it everywhere. That's a PR time bomb.
