No water at the rides here. They have those weird bucket type fountains that get replenished every once in a while.

I think provided the winter will not be too bad and long we should see Chang ready in April 2011. Provided they open in April again. Our last thrill ride opened early May so you never know. Superman was already painted. Chang needs new color.

The paint shouldn't be to hard since it's all on the ground.

As far as I heard they intend to paint AFTER the ride is put back up again.

That would defeat the purpose of the GP thinking it's a new ride.

That seems retarded. Painting it on the ground would probably be 1/10 the cost of painting it after being put up. Especially with all the problems Chang had with keeping it's paint on. This ride was was never painted correctly from the very beginning. If I was in charge, I'd look high and dry for someplace that had a tank big enough to drop a track section in, like the automakers do with whole cars..... Even painting it by hand on the ground would save lift costs and could probaly be sprayed instead of brushed. Seems like a really bad idea to paint it when it's up.

^ Thank you! It can only make sense to paint it on the ground. Paint the top portions, then after a little bit, paint the bottom. Then, there won't be paint drops all over the place. haha!

By the time it opens to the public it will be painted. Possibly before opening weekend. Very few non-coaster enthusiasts know about Chang anyway. I have yet to hear about a used coaster getting painted before it was put back together.

Does anyone know anything new about Chang yet, like how much of it is in storage? Also, this may be on a different thread but it seems relevant, what happened to T2, did they just get rid of it or actually relocate it?
"Park staff later claimed that they were offered a hundred bucks a pop to try to the slide, but refused after seeing that test dummies often emerged on the other end dismembered. The looping slide was actually closed down for most of the park’s life due to these injury concerns."

T2 is and will stay on Kentucky Kingdom property. Six Flags will not get any more rides most likely. Chang's staircase, train, support pole, lift hill and track piece have been discovered at the park since November.

^ Thank you very much. Did all that happen because of the lawsuit with the Kentucky State Fair Board and Six Flags, because I know Chang was a part of that too. What was the outcome, I followed it a little then gave up because I was too happy that Chang was here. (<:

What the hell are you talking about?!

The only known items at the park are the trains, a staricase, support, and lift hill start piece. Where the hell did you get the idea that the lift hill is all at the park?!

Andthe piece of track was discovered in April, not November.

And also, EDNOR was just put up. It was painted on the ground, and look at that! It looks BRAND NEW!

So are you trying to say that when Raging Bull was put up, it got all scratched up?

This is my first post, I've been reading this for a while but decided that its a good time to post.

Just letting everyone know that ever since Tatsu, Six Flags got a new formula for paint thats meant to last and not to fade. Don't worry about Chang looking bad. I think a lot of you should stop complaining about this to. I know this may be out of line, but all this time you were hyping this up and hyping it up, but in all reality, why would you ever think Chang would be converted? It's pretty much impossible anyways.

When this project finally comes a reality everyone is upset. Why? From what I understand its because it will obstruct the entrance plaza? That will actually be pretty cool. Think of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. It will probably be something like that.

Theres a lot more I'd like to say but I don't even know where to begin. But just be grateful that you're finally getting the big thrill all of you have been begging for for a while.

I know people haha. SFNE is my home park, our last "thrill," Batman: The Dark Knight was our last "big" coaster. Its small and after a couple rides it looses its thrill, yet its still fun. People on here should be grateful. Even though Mark Shapiro lived in CT, and SFNE was one of his home parks, we didn't receive anything that big, but it made our park on par with some of the bigger parks because it was pretty well rounded. But again, just be happy that you're getting something, and Shapiro will be going out with a bang.

As far as any new updates, the next Village of Gurnee Board Meeting is set for June 21st. Agenda is not yet posted, but I'm thinking that will be the one where the ZBA will pass its recommendation onto the board of Gurnee for review and final approval.

Once that happens, then we will probably see more action at the park. Until then, not much we can do but wait.

I don't see how he's so very smart. He pulled a David for all i can see. His first posts on the forum, he acts like he knows every single thing about the park. (What I did.) He doesn't even go to Great America or live near the park!
